1. I very nearly put in a bid for that other one - went for a good price.
2. Is there room for one more at the end of the list?
3. I thought about it as I like the shape - should probably try one first though That other one looks rather nice as well, though I must admit the through neck on yours looks good. Don't know why I am looking though, it's a fretless I want first!
4.
There's another Zoot on eBay at the moment i think. Btw, stop flagging them up, i'm after a bargain!
Maybe I should wait until they finish and the winners could identify themselves!
5. Pickup only from South Wales, but this Zoot looks rather nice. Don't know what a good price is but they seem to have reasonable reports on BC from searching.
6. When you've got a bass? Well maybe some day
7. Ibanez Blazer that needs some work. Sounds like it could have an interesting history though finding out about it might be difficult.
8.
http://www.Tecamp.com is something entirely different. Looking at the overall standard I would hope that they would be very cheap indeed!
I rather guessed that - and I had seen the German site by then
9.
That's a page left behind from the old site. If you reduce the URL down to simply http://www.tech-soundsystems.com you'll be redirected to the new http://www.tec-amp.de/ site.
Thanks BigRedX - thought I was going mad for a moment (Well I have been thinking that for a while actually!) I also had a look at the www.Tecamp.com site. Hmmm... they look as though they may be a bit cheaper.
10.
Is Tech Soundsystems now Tecamp?
Well I am sure that yesterday when I looked the tech soundsytems website I was automatically forwarded to the Tecamp one. But today it isn't (though I have probably used a different link...) This is the Tech Soundsystems page, but whether it is an old page that has been left on the server I don't know.
11. Overwater J-series
12. If you use pedals, instead of putting them between the bass and the amp, you can put them in a loop. The signal will go from your bass, through the pre-amp section of the amp, through the effects loop, then on to the power amp section of the amp and on to the speakers. So you would cable out from the send socket, plug through the pedal(s) and back to the return socket. Some amps allow you to set how much of the signal goes through the effects and how much goes direct from pre-amp to power amp. Basic details here and a video explanation here.
13.
Im planning on making it a 30th birthday type purchase...which is still nearly two years away, so maybe thats too long!
Or maybe you should order it now to make sure you get it for your birthday
14. Just had some Marvel ones delivered (and now fitted). They were recommended in another thread though I can't remember who by - apparently they were the ones fitted to Overwaters, and now back on mine. Ordered from Axesrus on Sunday night at 10:03pm. 10:06pm I had an email from Axesrus to tell me that they would be in the post Monday morning - and it wasn't an automated email, I had already received those. And they only cost £8.25 including postage. Great service. On first impression they look great and feel solid.
15. Thanks for the replies. TBH I wasn't intending on spending very much at the moment, want to try it out and see how I get on. If it is something I can see myself getting more use out of then I would upgrade. Firewire would be good but my PC doesn't have that at present, and without a new motherboard there's no way of getting it.
16. That really was a laugh out loud moment!
17. If only it was a Jazz in orange sparkle... Been after one of those for a while Actually, looking at the headstock pic maybe it is a Precission - careful photography there
18. Cheers mate - will pick up a copy of the mags when I'm in town next. And I think I will go outboard - as you say it is more versatile.
19.
which i couldn't resist !!
You don't know how glad I (and my wallet) are about that
20. <lots of reverb>Hello?....</lots of reverb> Anyone have an idea?
21. I want to do a bit of messing around with recording - nothing fancy just simple backing tracks for practice, things like that, so I need someway of recording to hard drive. As far as I can see there are two ways - an onboard sound card or USB box that I can plug instruments, mics etc into. I currently have a reasonably good spec PC (and I know that for proper stuff I would be better having a stand alone machine for this but I'm not looking for that sort of quality), and I also have an Audiophile 2496 sound card from an older machine. The problem is that the motherboard in my machine has two PCI slots - one has the wireless card in it, and the other is totally obscured by the heatsink on my graphics card. So, do I go for a new motherboard which will let me use the 2496, or do I forget that and buy a USB box that allows me to plug straight in (such as the M-audio Fast Track). Will there be issues with latency with either of these methods? Having the USB box would allow me to take it with me and plug into other machines (such as our laptop etc).
I had to not look at that thread until it was gone. I was sorely tempted. You know where to come when you want to shift it!
Oops - yes, I remember now...

And this is mine - it was the look that first caught my eye, but it does sound wonderful as well.
24. I read the title quickly and assumed you were after custom built plectrums! Someone will come along now with a link to a custom pick maker...
25.
If you feel like that, you could use the initial feelings of unworthiness to knuckle down and improve.
+1 I have recently come back to playing bass. I can afford better instruments than I used to be able to years ago so have bought an Overwater. It's amazing. I'm not - I'm crap. But having this bass is making me do something about it, and trying to get somewhere. Would a cheaper bass have done this? Probably not (for me).
