After many years of playing bass, and then many more years of playing fingerstyle acoustic guitar (yes i am that old...) I am finally returning to the low notes and a Stagg EUB is at this moment on it's way to me. My intention, especially at first, is to practice using headphones, though I also want to get a small amp for it - not necessarily a practice amp but not too big. As it has been a long time since I have looked at bass amps I have no idea what would be good for this. Not looking to spend too much at the moment though if I get on OK will certainly want to upgrade/add to this in the future. It is also not beyond the realms of possibility that I may be tempted to get a fretless bass as well. Any suggestions?

Just joined and I'm 55 in June...

Hi All Used to play bass back in the 70s and 80s, since then played acoustic - many styles, and up to about ten years ago was playing live regularly. Now I have decided it's time to get back down among the low notes I have been looking at getting a 5 or 6 string fretless, but after reading all about them (and the fact that my wife thinks she would like to try one) I am considering a Stagg EUB, just to see how I get on with it. There seems to be a lot about them here - though not many available in the stores at the moment... My claim to fame? I once played in the same band as Mark King, and I was the bass player... (though he was only about 12/13 then and played drums, and was several years younger than the rest of the band). Look forward to learning more here and hopefully finding someone to get some lessons from on the EUB
