it looks great , is it easy (ish) to use , I am really struggling with midi stuff , the penny just wont drop , my sounds are currently made with a synth that I press the keys and make the sounds in real time , the programming stuff does my head in , is this a program that will help ? Ps I know that I should be able to use the keyboard as a midi controller , but I cant make it happen

It needs some-one who wants it, to arrange getting it , its that simple ,

with original stuff it is very dificult, as so many 'original's ' sound the same , if the sound isn't spot on then the distinction between lots of them is lost and even the genre gets confused in noise. when you have turned down gigs from an availability viewpoint , it is even harder to get another offfer , and without regular gigs the following will diminish . colleges and student bars are probably the best port of call as they will often have a clientele that wants to hear something fresh and lively .

Can I say I feel honoured to be a participant in this competition , I echo Dads sentiment completely , this month is absolutely incredible.

Is a hand-over imminent? is it still with BB Blackdog ? if anyone wants it just make the call and arrange picking it up , roll up roll up .

I was offered tickets for the MEN for both Rush (wednesday) and thunder , journey whitesnake (thursday) . If I really wanted to go I would have sorted my diary , but I have been to enough shows at the MEN to write off any thoughts of hearing a decent production. Theatre gigs work well , and a top soundman can make it superb , but they probably just can't rake the same coin in from 3000 punters as they can from 12000

Some exciting ideas , I am not sure that I am competent enough to play those games , trying the simple stuff is hard enough for me

I have ordered a few of the hercules gsp40 jobbies , they look like they will do the business , but with the ideas of the back up plan to prevent any damage . I will post some pictures when they are up . thanks for all the input

I am still at work and had a listen through the crappy computer speakers and also on my phone , and I can hear differences now that I couldn't pick up before

I am pretty much purely on headphones , I will soon be setting up some monitors , sad to say due, to reasons of noise/ kids/ listening time etc I let my HI-FI wane to NO-FI by the time the bits got cherry picked by family and friends . I am probably missing out on a big part of the learning by the sound of it ( or by the lack of the sound of it ) so I will make an effort to sort out our 'music room'

Referencing is part of the process , but I am still working out how to do it properly .

We played a wedding last year in a marquee and it hammered down , the genny got soaked , and I recall some of the PA and cabling being very wet , but while we were on we didn't give a second thought . Be safe though , we may have been really lucky .

We will have to have another poll to guess whose mix is whose . it will all come out in the wash though .

Interesting thought on the voting strategy , but don't lose sight of the philosophy behind the 'competition' it is a learning resource that participants can play along with and in turn develop their skills in the mixing process. I didn't particularily need to know , but I think the idea is that you do vote for the one that you [b]do[/b] think is mixed the best , so that if it wins, you get to find out how it was done , and therefore learn something ed for spilug

It is Poor form Milt , and I do jest , but with a bit of the referencing I did ,and the amount of tinkering ,I just happen to have my version stuck in my head and everything else sounds like an ammended version of mine

Cheers Si, It must be a PITA , bust I appreciatte the work you put in . I would offer myself but My speeds are dog slow here , and I have had a couple of issues myself with soundcloud seeming to time out , Maybe I could stop late at work sometime , if it comes to it I could probably do it that way , to take a turn . Is it poor form to vote for your own , I am not sure if it is because I listened to my version sooooooo many times , it feels like the original now, and I always think the original sounds best
