1. We just do legwork , knocking on doors, talking to people and putting on a half decent performance when we get a gig , after a while the repeat bookings come along and make the work a bit easier , but always knock on new doors and see getting in at new venues half the fun, I think we are of an age though where friends are at notable birthdays and a fair few parties come our way , they all look good on a band CV , I personally had two 50th birthday parties last year , and the band played at both
2. Just a bit of fun to see how big I can get a map Ok that might work , it would need a list to follow with detail of the participants but there should be enough space to put some numbers/letters to index to the list on a route . I would need to update the picture as and when , and please excuse the iffy example above but it might work as long as the entire BC community doesnt join in, but if they do, it could be done region by region
3. Possibley best to get as many on board as poss , plan a rough route, then pester the heck out of everyone to fill the gaps, timescales will be a bit interesting depending of the BCers gig calender .
4. sounds great fun, I'd love to join in with this, I think there are a few BCers around this neck of the woods.
5. I have a pet cage surplus to requirements if anyone is interested. it is 4ft x 2ft and has a cage over a plastic tray base. For accurrate description have a look here but in grey collection to suit , but can possibly deliver if very local
6.
I'd like to hear that....
So would I , but My thinking is waaaaayyy past my ability at the moment , mind you my easier idea is proving very awkward and a right pain in the derrier . I only just realised that to add a vocal I have to monitor the track , that involves ear phones so I had to work out how to recieve a signal via usb yet send it out vis the headphone socket , for some reason, the headphone out on the audio interface did not kill the output , and as I type this I realise I could of just pulled out the output jack when one headsmashing is just not enough
7. Oh , does that mean mine is a bit quiet , I did notice the others were a bit louder , but I used the K meter, does that affect the effect
8. I must be getting the bug, because I have understood most of this thread
9.

" I'll be your Dawg" , I'd forgotten all about that , brilliant
10. https://soundcloud.com/lurksalot/no-second-chance-again I don't know if its any better in real life but it does a bit to me
11. I have downloaded it and put it as an effect on the master , I don't quite know what it is doing, but it is there .
12.
I have no problems with people submitting revisions to their mix, or even whole new second mixes if you want. Go for it, but lets say submissions in by Monday 14th, and I'll do the poll thing that evening?
So after all that , we DO have a second chance , I will have another go if i get the opportunity
13. A bit late for the mix competetion but a lot of it makes more sense now that I have re-read it after trying to do a mix . great stuff Si ,many thanks
14.
Lurksalot, your mix could benefit from a bit more eq'ing to create a bit more space for everything in the mix.
Thanks for that , I will have to go and work out what it means, I know what the words say, but it the application I will have to learn
15. I have listened to the first 2 and think they are great , mine seems week by comparison ,but when everyone spills the beans on what they did , it will bring me along a couple of notches .
16. Ok , be gentle with me on this one but I have had a go , I will listen to the others as soon as I can , but like Skol I didn't want to have too much influence by others , not that I would have a clue how to do what anyone else does , https://soundcloud.com/lurksalot/no-second-chance
17. Yep , I kind of thought of a gang of bank robbers all wearing the same pair of (oversize) tights , with a reggae kind of feel .......but Ive moved on now
18. I have had a go but.... apart from the fact I am guessing at most of what I am doing , I havent got this K meter thing sussed yet (or even reaper come to mention it) , now I have a 'mix' but it doesn't play in reaper any more , I did render it to wav so I have got something, but I need to adjust something but while all the tracks show in reaper, I can't hear it . I will let the laptop cool down and start again on sunday , gig tommorrow, skirting board to fit, architrave to loft hatch and a radiator to fit to the front bedroom, half a tank of gas and pack of cigarettes................
19. Great to hear that Joe , and yeah , superb gig shots BRX
20. I know the B9 does midi , but if I plug a midi keyboard ( tecnics digi piano thing with general midi etc) via 5 pin din into the B9 , will it send the midi signal through via the usb into my computer? . I am struggling a bit with this totally as I can't make it work. however , this piano has plenty of virtual sounds , instruments , drums and stuff already , and I can record audio piece of proverbial . Do I need the midi ? I think i do, but what am I missing regarding the signal chain?
21.
Close enough
or maybe not ................ TV is still available , I hope there is no 36 hour bumping rule in this forum
22.
While Reaper is not for me [I tried - but a few things missing for me] I did find this useful Lots of material on Midi in Reaper. Hope it helps. http://www.youtube.c...c.1.Ms8htt_Fx9M Garry
Wow cheers Garry , I have done a bit of searchiing , but that lot looks like the Holy Grail .
