  1. OK Here we go , it is time to get your creative juices bubbling with the inspiration of the following picture chosen by the winner of "Lurksaliitles' Favourite Number Challenge" , which was of course @upside downer , though due credit being due to his co-winners of the composition challenge last month of @Dad3353 and @xgsjx Usual rules apply. You know the drill: ✔️ Entries must be <5 minutes and written/recorded this month. ❌ No illegal samples, copyright infringements or other snide goings-on ❌ Bagpipes. Never. Also on thin ice with panpipes, to be perfectly honest. ❌ No voting for your own entry. We'll know. And we'll shame you. Deadline for entries is midnight on Monday 23rd November DIVE IN
  2. We have a winner the number that I chose is Lurksalittles favourite number and our house number which is .........
  3. Ha ha , that’s a first , well done all , that was brilliant , great tunes one and all , as a quick get out I’ll try this @Dad3353 @upside downer @xgsjx I’ve got a number in mind between 1 and 20, nearest guess without going over it wins the picture choice you’ve got till 12.00 so all have a picture ready in case you are correct
  4. Experience of this is not my field Chris, but I would imagine that minimising the error would depend on the amount of treatment the room needs, that is probably the experience of the panel people working on the room size and shape told to them. Once you start to play around with listening and performance areas within that , I would have thought while the theory would remain the same, the application of it would be like plaiting fog. have fun and good luck
  5. This is a very specialist area from what I can gather , to the point that I wouldn’t be surprised to see a ‘Harry Potter and the Auditory Minefield’ as the next chapter delving deeply into the dark arts involved, followed in the series by ‘Harry Potter and the Plasterer’s Apprentice’ in seriousness I think you can get a software / microphone package that can assess your room , and you can play with the set up and actually measure it so you can pick the best layout , but I would guess a good start would be the manufactures suggestions. @Skol303 is the guru on this, he can point you in the right direction with his sonic wand
  6. All Aboard If we are all in , the voting thread is Go Go GO
  7. Welcome to the October voting thread we have a veritable cornucopia of marvellous magnitude for your auditory consideration. Have a listen to these offerings , all based on the picture chosen by @Dad3353 (Septembers winner) and choose your favourite 3 in order to crown the October Challenge victor These are well worth your time , another quality offering. 1.. @Dad3353 2 @binky_bass 3 @Leonard Smalls 4 @NickD 5 @fingers211 6 @xgsjx 7 @lurksalot 8 @upside downer 9 @adamg67 10 @Nicko 11 @Doctor J 12 @MoonBassAlpha 13 @skankdelvar Well there we have it , a tremendous selection, all worthy of at least one vote , but you have to limit your call to just 3. Good luck to and enjoy your listens. Poll closes at midnight on 31st October
  8. I did it already ! it wasn’t a remake just some subtly added bits , it didn’t really need a fanfare I just changed the file on the same link
  9. I’ve been messing with mine , does it need anything else in it , not really , but that’s never stopped me before I’ll chop it in tomorrow I think !
  10. I reckon that is a complete ‘suck it and see’ type experiment setting that room up . It looks like a roof space, so for one if you are recording you will pick up the weather/wind/rain noise fairly easily. If the walls and floors aren’t solid you may pick up any neighbours as well . Apart from making those allowances , the noise will travel out to your neighbours as well ! May be also some hard hats for those at the thin end 😉
  11. I got something together , but i did find this a struggle, I have done a nod to this fact in there somewhere , but hands up on this , bashing about on a drum machine and overdubbing various percussion elements is all that I could dream up! the link to the picture is tenuous but findable Stung , enjoy
  12. I won’t listen to any just yet, I’m sure something will crop up, just hope it’s before the 24th !
  13. Fair play , you’ve all been very busy already. I’ve done plenty of noodling, thrashing and tinkling, but can’t find a direction to push them in yet😕
  14. Swords of a thousand men , Tenpole Tudor A stomping 2 minuter that really does bring the house down
  15. I thank you , I’m here all week
  16. WTAF I’ve got nearly 80 tracks on soundcloud and I’ve not had anyone asking for money to promote them . maybe they do actually listen to mine
  17. I don't listen to any of them before I've got mine pretty much done, however it sounds very much like @Dad3353 photo has left an open goal for @Leonard Smalls
  18. Woo hoo @Dad3353 well done , I suggested very early on that you had set a very high bar , excellent work sir , you know the drill
  19. Well played As upside downer notes, the deadline is part of the brief , but September challenge will conclude tonight , and October will be live imminently . pop over to the vote thread and pop a few ticks in the boxes and we’ll all be waiting for your next one 😎
