OK Because I did a half decent one last month , the singist from the old band was happy to collaborate on this one , and boy does it make a difference , he can ........ er.... sing so many thanks to Mr Ray 'warbler' Robertson of The Razors for contributing to this .....

Holy schmoley I didn’t realise tonight was the deadline ! Ive got one just about ready , so I’ll get a mix done and put it up later , I’ve got a paid soundcloud account so I can put a revised edit on the same link it’s good job @adamg67 posted or I’d have missed it

This is a bit odd as I didn’t think it would be a thing I would say , but Chester is doing alright at the moment , the ‘live rooms’ seems to be putting some half decent shows, the known local band pubs are still busy and a few duos I know are still busy in the area. Tagged on to the Tiv in Buckley , and Central station in Wxm , and there is plenty to see within 10 minute drive/40min bus. so yeah, quite surprised me really

Coughlans quo my old band were supporting , and played a blinder coughlans quo were ok but a bit obscure for me , so I got an early bus back to town for more beer interestingly though, my old band sounded awesome. I told the guitarist how good his AC30 sung through , he said he couldn’t hear it . That was the reason I left the band , he kept turning up so HE could hear it and would be too loud out front . only been discussing this issue for about 8 years

How many people really listen or care about lyrics?
lurksalot replied to PaulWarning's topic in General Discussion
Some days I like lyrics other days I don't Some days all I’ll eat is cheese Other days I won’t though lyrics don’t all have to rhyme I like it when they do I find the tale will flow quite well but I guess that is just me nonsense I say , it’s all nonsense, I do love good lyrics in a song. -
There you go Douglas , an opportunity to write a new anthem , not that yours aren’t usually anthems suffice to say , that is an angle that I wasn’t expecting

My dodgy back was diagnosed by a seamstress/seamster/tailor/tailoress (gender related job descriptions confuse me nowadays) basically, while altering my charity shop 6.00 purchase , she noticed one shoulder was lower than the other , causing the spine to be tilted. I don’t get any issues , but it is a good observation and I am now more conscious of my posture , I do plenty of stretching before work already , and as long as I am moving all day I am fine , but standing still is what does me in -

OCTOBER Composition Challenge -- VOTING TIME
lurksalot replied to lurksalot's topic in General Discussion
Many thanks Douglas , thanks to all for the votes , it would be great to have a few more entering and voting. it is brilliant way to enjoy, learn and develop the process of composing, playing and recording music . -
It was the whole process of download , sign up here , log in there, activate here, and then trying to get reaper to find it , then seemed like going back over it again One day I will need to upgrade the machine and will somehow have to reinstall loads of vst’s and stuff , tracks and the like and I am just dreading it

Told a punter to 'get to f...' for the time last night!
lurksalot replied to geoham's topic in General Discussion
When I was depping with the lads back a while we had a tit who would not leave us alone coming on stage , wanting to sing etc, the singer and guitar looked lost at how to handle it when he went for a guitar on a stand , so I just stopped playing , got in his way. The rest of the band then stopped and I took the mic to announce if it happened again we would be away . To be fair to the punters , they all came and apologised for the tit at the end , but we were expecting an interesting load out ! -
OMG that was painful , and it only goes to scare me even more for when I will need to upgrade my computer!
-
I think we need to rub the lamp and hope @Sibob pops out , you lost me at Saffire

How do I find if I have an I lok account ? I don’t get emails and selling spam from them , but I could have previously signed up chasing free software

Is there anyone out there for any more ? It’s a bit lonely in here this month
-
You'll be getting booked for Ibiza with knocking out bangers like that Dad
-
if anyone wants to volunteer a vocal better than mine, please step up , however , mercifully , it is quite short
-
Mine is almost done , but it’s a song and needs a singist, the singer from my old band is on his hols , so I might have to ask the singer from my older band , he lives next door , if the opportunity arises I’ll ask him , if not, you’ll have the pleasure of my honed vocalisations

Does your band use a sub-woofer as part of your PA?
lurksalot replied to Al Krow's topic in General Discussion
I really think it all comes down to whether you have someone to spend enough time and effort to set it all up and to run it on a gig , to run a full frequency PA , micing it up and have someone out front mixing it, is just way more prone to grief than getting a nice tight sound from a minimum of kit. the idea is great in principle , but when you are doing mainly £250 pub gigs we were not fussed , if you were commanding big money functions with a sound man , it is possibly another story
