  1. I voted yes for my last band, all very reliable except lead guitar who was always pushing the clock . no-one really noticed until I left, then they all had to sort, learn and set up the PA, it is a shame it has pretty much landed in the shoulders of the singer, the promo has nearly gone , and I think generally there is a bit more stress in the outfit. They haven’t bothered getting band lighting either , that is too much extra to consider just yet , but the singer has bought a van to be able to carry the stuff he needs to. Overall they are good guys , who have obviously stepped up to the plate when needed 👍
  2. Pmd sorry for the delay , I thought I was following this !
  3. Does this need ‘tractor’ or NI stuff because I get very lost in a lot of all the complexity that goes on with these things can I just download and use through reaper like other VST’s ? TIA
  4. Especially as I had been looking for an example of the bass for a year or so , rare as it seems . Ive moved on now
  5. I’ve had that myself , sussed out the money my end , made an offer for the asking price , and watch it get withdrawn. totally racked me off
  6. Runaway fingers runaway victor who is victor well done Douglas , brilliant dude
  7. Just turned the tv on , rare for me on a sat morning , and lo , Saturday kitchen , Belgium F3 live , ooh, tough call
  8. Sounds awesome, great post my last 2 gigs were a bit like that as I depped for the band I left 9 months ago. a town called malice was one I had always wanted to play live , we tried it as a band in rehearsals years ago but the drummer could never come in on it. anyway the couple at the wedding had requested it and typical of the guitarist reckoned we were happy to busk it out. A couple of acoustic type run throughs the day before didn’t fill me with confidence but as I always wanted to do it I didn’t object too much. well muggins here got hung out on the intro , I launch into it and the drummers blank stare says it all . After some pulled expressions of disbelief from me , he starts hitting things. it took a bar to find out what he was doing and then ‘lock in’ and really hoped he just kept doing the same thing all song, I managed to communicate to the lads to ignore the bass solo as I didn’t want the same happening all over again. the song has now been played live by me and the audience didn’t throw anything at us , but a fantastic song to get right ...........I would imagine
  9. When I was at school, myself and some mates had guitars and cheap amps and would jam and pretend to be rockstars in the garage where we had created a bit of space for ourselves . one of the neighbours heard our racket and mentioned that Graham , her eldest had no use for a broken old guitar he had in the loft . On inspection it only had 4 black strings and a broken neck socket. £15 lighter I put some wood screws in it to hold it together , and lo , I played bass a hofner violin bass after a while my younger brother took it up and followed on playing at school in the sixth form and joined a band.... Then a month or two ago , the original garage jammers of 40 years ago went to see this young upstarts latest band in Whitchurch . true story
  10. I agree with the others , take a breath before you do anything. one thing to bear in mind , a guitarists hearing could easily be shot in the higher and mid frequency ranges , they will therefore hear more lower end i.e you. I had this in my last band , the guitar kept getting louder and louder , because he couldn’t hear it ! If that is a factor and if you can all get past it, it will be cool
  11. If you don’t feel ‘natural’ is particularly inspiring , either for you or the camera , be someone else , get an idea or a person in your head And be them , you don’t have to actually do anything , as long as your head thinks you are ! Getting into a character can take the pressure off you as it’s the other guy putting himself on show
  12. AS Skol is tent bound in the back of beyond, I'll hoist up the voting thread VOTING IS GO,

  14. Oh No , it must be a bit too subtle I don’t know how to do one of those spoiler things on the phone , so I’ll keep schtum for the moment, when I get back to the big machine I’ll try to explain
  15. Thank you for the thought, but it’s not actually my birthday Douglas, it’s just my take on the photo , I was looking for a way to introduce some smut into the proceedings and found it via the birthday present
  16. OK then , you asked for it, bass, guitars and vocal by me , drums and piano by something that knows far more about this than I do, the play it on its own piano ! some stuff from freesound which pops up towards the end Enjoy , its my Birthday
  17. Nah its not my band , they were stuck , I could help, not my responsibility at all. I have declined depping the pub gigs offered , the pubs can sort a different band, but I couldn’t see a wedding party left without the evenings entertainment
  18. Realistic offers would be considered if you are interested.
  19. I depped for the band I left last year, for 3 weddings over 2 weekends. They have hopes of having a ‘function band’ string to their bow. Together learned and played 5 new songs all for pennies , and at best could describe the performances as ‘functional’ I only did them so as not to ruin the customers day after my replacements replacement let the band down.
  20. Hmm let me think , it needs picking up , playing with and bouncing around to make it feel bigger , just like my pillows
  21. I’ve got a tune down , it needs fluffing a bit but it also needs vocals and I’m getting a bit sick of my own voice , I really don’t understand how you guys love my stuff so much . I’ll get my coat
  22. And all while doing a splendid Patrick Stewart impression , make it so dude
  23. What grinds my gears with songs from chart/pop/AirPlay genres is when half the lyrics are blanked out because they are unsuitable to air . FFS if the song isn’t suitable , don’t play it ! why promote this stuff when it is so full of language that has to be removed, that it really can’t tell the story it is intended to tell
  24. Having been a bit late offering the cab to a 'wanted' post, I have come to realise that I should really make this cab available to someone who needs it. I bought it with the RS210 as a rig , and while it is excellent when all set up , I have pretty much relied on the RS210 for gigging, and now I have left the band and only do the occasional dep for them , I reckon it is a bit extravagent having one of these tucked away in the cupboard of a smoke free, pet free home Ideally pick up from Chester but can travel a bit to meet up if needs must In padded cover Front rear underneath VGC and used last night at a wedding gig just to give it a run out Lurks
