  1. I really think it depends on how you are feeling the vibe , on some gigs we can play through and get some occasional polite applause and any stage excitement would be like we were at the wrong gig. but last night for instance , there were loads out there who were singing and air drumming and guitaring from the start , it makes a massive difference to the stage energy levels.
  2. There is lot going on in that one I'm looking for an excuse to rawk but getting a feel to chant , now , my guitar work is hardly inspirational , but I think you've got a grasp on my vocal work by now maybe a mashup looks perfect for some Lenny funk
  3. If I'm honest , I try to move around in what normally amounts to about 2 sq feet of available stage space while trying to avoid stepping on the pedals encroaching my toes . I soon realised the advantage of coordinated stage moves as the likes of Shadows could all move with out smashing headstocks That said, our singer has taken to helping with some rhythm guitar work , but he's a left hooker
  4. We had a good one tonight in a new venue for us in Mold , a reasonable crowd, diminished a touch by the boxing, but boy were they up for it. We had some excellent feedback from some punters and the staff , so with repeat bookings for some saturdays in the diary , they now want some Fridays as well. looking good for us in that venue
  5. They are the best for original stuff , people go to see what they will see , most of the pub venues want either a genre, rock covers mainly ( saddle, foxes etc) or a party mix of classics (kings head, church etc ) though thinking on , I think the golden eagle occasionally puts on some new stuff , might be worth a punt .
  6. Sounds great , I was hoping to come down for this with Mike , but grandkids and dads taxi service got in the way , I'll look out for the next one
  7. There'll be a few more in before the death I'll wager . (Crosses fingers and puts the kettle on) though not holding breath , while turning into dad
  8. There is a topic in here on this very subject from last year or the year before , my phone search doesn't see it, but it is along the same lines , I bought something that was 'in stock' but patently wasn't . I got it after a couple of weeks , but I guess that is the current business model
  9. I do as well , I only voted for myself once , and that was because I was late in and noticed that a few had already done so , it mattered not in the final count , but I generally see it as 'not done' in my little view of things
  10. In the last band my neighbour was singer , guitarist , sound and lights . Bonus was, he didn't drink when gigging , so I brought the big van home and he drove it. Some quality booze fests when I played with that crew , though it was a bit tetchy for a few weeks when I left the band. I drive to all the gigs now , and since the one gig I had a few scoops at recently left me busting for a p1ss halfway through the second set , I am happy to drive now
  11. Well I tried listening to talking radio , but I had the same problem , they keep using the same words again and again , granted they might put them in a different order sometimes, but it's the same problem surely . Thinking on, it's worse, in as much as it's more like radio 1 , they seem to find the latest and newest thing then keep going on and on ....and on ....and on....
  12. Even technically with an album or a CD you still don't own the music . You own the plastic or the vinyl , but not the music . I think
  13. Vinny , who else ! Andy ( Ruarl) with sooo many strings Alan's Tbird , sweeeeet Me with the little gretsch junior jet
  14. Some lovely pics there Alan A very enjoyable afternoon spent in great company, it was brilliant both catching up and meeting some new faces. Some lovely kit to see and play with and very clever design and build amplification set up from mottlefeeder . Some great A/B sound testing and some head scratching with regards working out which controls did what there were some lovely tones from a collection of rig/ bass combinations and then of course Tommo's rig Now that takes some dedication to lug around and we missed the photo op of Vinnies scene stealer through the fridge it was a shame we lost Owen and Redd to the weather , though the small but quality and friendly crew who were there made for a few marvellous hours of bassery. Hopefully some more photos to follow later from me
  15. That's a shame Owen , thanks for letting us know
  16. We played the Lizzy version of whiskey in the jar last night ....in honour of St Patrick's day? Well we can say it is , but it's a set regular as far as green drinks go , half a cider , half a lager and a good shot of vodka and blue bols , that does the trick , though it's a while since I poisoned myself with a night on those
  17. A bit of annoyance last night though a great gig . We were booked to play a little community pub which is a great, if intimate, venue. Catching the feed on FB shows it's going to be a well attended gig , well, considering it turned out to be a 50th party it was always going to be The doors were still open to anyone so it wasn't a private party as such, but it does feel like we've had our hats nailed on. still, we played our std pub set and didn't embellish it too much with party stuff , and it went down great with a recall for July , I don't know whose party that will be for
  18. Yeah , it could be a squeeze getting all your kit in that littl car Take care on those steps !! i'll txt Chris for an update on the venue conditions , but the small estate roads by me are clear though the grass areas have a couple of inches on them , I'm about 10 miles away
  19. Ok guys, it is no zips no metal buttons day tomorrow ! As much respect to the kit being brought as is possible , I am sure it doesn't need saying , but I will anyway , but please get permissions to pick up , fondle , and stroke the owners of the kit Ed to clarify .... permissions FROM the owners of the kit
  20. There is some proper kit being brought by the look of it , fantastic
