1. I have mine very nearly nailed now , it took a while to find a way in to it but I am just waiting for my summer cold to pass as my singing sounds a tad naff with a blocked nose, honest, my only reservation is a blocked nose
2. Quality , wells done dude 👍
3. From what I recall the 'insulation' acts as a space enhancer , it slows the sound waves enough to make the space inside the cab seem bigger. This is done to allow the cab to provide the volume to suit the driver without needing too big a cab ......I think
4. I started with rock , probably then a bit poppier, definitely a phase of jazz / free interpretation , and then back to rock, but I settle down a bit after the first song
5.
Thanks very much people. It was a good picture for ideas. Quite a diverse range of styles and different musical views entered this month. Great stuff all round. Picture on it's way to Skol.
I can hear the tap tap tapping of Dads fingers on the side of his couch , just waiting for Skol to finish his breakfast , oh he is a slow eater
6. Nods off !!! good grief , I can't sleep , waiting for the picture , nerves a jangling , I had a good MIDI day yesterday and need something to use my new found skills on Anyway , I am off to Crewe to pick up Lurksalittle shortly , the trains have been on hold for an incident in Rugby so she is 4 hours late Stiff upper lip and all , I think she actually talked to someone she doesn't know , progress , kind of
7. Bloody DOH , you sneaked in there Douglas , even 'toute suiter' than I thought
8. As I am still Up I shall declare it ...... WELL DONE............ LOWDOWN A worthy winner , I am sure Dad will be along with your certificates 'toute suite' Another excellent offering from everyone , If Lowdown can choose a picture and send it to Skol We can start up for JULY
9. It one of those last chance to vote type bumps, It's neck and neck out front it just needs a few more votes to settle it, so dive in
10. A driver on my brothers old round was Robin Basted
11.
As for night work - not good for depression. I know its better paid but its isolating and messes with your body chemistry - and your gigging.
This , some people can take to it easily , but some just can't , I can't, I tried it for some contract work , never again. Best wishes big yin ,
12.
To the benefit of us all..!
I am still chuckling at that .
13. I seriously try to have fun The trouble I have is the more I try to get my output sounding like a true pro arrangement , the more I realise I know so little on how to do it , so I have the craic and publish
14.
I watched them and was struck at how many basses he used, all of which to me sounded the same. I think it must have been on his bucket list to do more instrument changes than The Edge.
Maybe they were tuned up and strung differently so he could mix it up a bit , though they did all sound a bit samey to me as well
15. I'm sure one of the basses was strung with the lowest 2 as bass strings and the top 2 skinny strings , wacking out a deep root and riffing over the top of it . Very much agree that 5 songs in it got a bit samey , but really enjoyed them all the same , killer duo
16. It's hard to criticise a guy who is on his own wacking a guitar, dancing on a looper or 2 , and has 100,000 people singing along to every word. Very impressive. Ed to add , maybe his E string drops out of tune a bit easy
17. well boys you all certainly know how to put some incredible stuff together , truly brilliant , voted but had to go through twice
18. We did a proper posh wedding tonight , scheduled tightly , shortish sets, song choices by the couple , even the running order , the DJ was great and even lit us up , the MC was on the ball and took her job seriously and the happy couple loved it !! They even said they would come to the next pub gig just so they could sit and listen to the whole set that we do rather than be mingling with the guests The bride hadn't seen us as we were a late stand in , but the husband had phoned his wife at our last pub gig and she listened over he phone to our first three songs , odd way to get a pucka wedding gig, but it worked out a treat for all !!
19. I honestly never got got the band 'fanboy' thing , if the music speaks to me , I'll vote with my wallet , if it doesn't , I'll let it go . It is so much easier to try before you buy nowadays that you really don't have to convince yourself that you love the band because you spent £12.99 on an album
20.
Yew are too kind, sirs.
SsssssssmOAKing dude, on another plane
21. The scarlet takes a standard guitar lead , no need for anything special to plug your bass in with
22. We played to the '4 blokes and dog' crowd , we played well enough to get re-booked but there were a couple of right clangers that we'll need to address . Best part of the night was when the the 4 blokes were chasing the dog around the pub , apparently the cue ball fell off the pool table and the dog took it , priceless
23. Ooooh on hold , me thinks I've traded it for some rehearsal room time .... so I might get to use it for free for a few weeks .... ??
