1. Bump it up ............................. To knock it down £150 , fill your boots
2. Cheers Dad, I reckoned you would get it
3. I'm in, this one was great fun but probably a bit daft even for me I offer you .... https://soundcloud.com/lurksalot/dustsheets I hope you can get through it, its a bit long for me
4. I had to wait to a fortnight for strings marked as in stock , and really poor comms , I don't mind a wait if someone tells me to expect it , but a message costs next to bugger all and saves a lot of frustration
5.
Note to self: Must read before posting! I meant sound absorbing thingummies dangling from the ceiling! I've left the committee to it for the moment... They seem to think that monitors aren't necessary (!), but I did convince them of the need for mics... The problem is they've spent more than £10k on a ridiculous electric screen that can divide the hall, but no-one is allowed to use it in case it gets broken. You couldn't make it up!
Maybe but do you remember the metalwork shop with Mr Bruce , he had a brand new top dollar milling machine that only the A-level students could use ...... they never ever offered A-level in his subjects , it probably just rusted itself solid , same meat different gravy
6. Radar love as it's all over a new film coming out and has always been a classic , oh and war pigs as lead guitar fancies w***ing all over it
7. Sellers who withdraw their item after you offer the asking price , like " sh*t , someone wants this as much as I do, so I won't sell it now "
8.
Agreed, this is a bargain! I have this amp and it's so easy to get the tone you (I) want. Definitely worth picking up - I always wanted to match mine up with the 4x10 cab as above so would be taking this if i could
You can , you can Ed to add ... at one point I used this amp as a pre amp into a Yammy power amp and just loved it !
9. £180 to go , I hope it doesn't get as far as the recycle forum , :-)
10. Yes indeed, well done mr frog shot 👍
11.
I think it was some kind of short-scale Guild.
Shortscale will soon be the thing , but hopefully not till I've moved my long necks on
12. PRICE DROP £200 ............ That's an AFB* if ever I heard of one * Absolute F**king Bargain
13. weighed in, weighed in a great selection again , with 5 standing out, requiring a difficult cull to my 3 , well done all
14. Very pleased with last nights gig from a performance aspect, less so from a crowd perspective. It was supposed to be a big party gig for the landlords retirement , but he left last week and the bank holiday weekend meant the turnout was a bit shy , we had some dancing , but not the normal antics from that pub. On a massive plus, I blooded a new bass in last night and I loved it , a gretsch junior jet shortscale, it felt just like it was always meant to be in my hands and sounded lovely. A big up to graham from Dawson's in chester who recommended it to me , I upset Mrs Lurks when I told her I could sell all my other guitars now , she complained that I wasn't allowed to because of the guitar brackets on the walls would look awful without guitars hanging on them
15. Yup I think I'll start up the negotiations with the rehearsal rooms again
16. 1450 views now , and not a sniff Is this priced way too high is is there no love for it ?
17. Friday night at my local was our second outing and it was much more confident than the first , one or two interesting moments of improvisation but overall it went OK, it was well recieved and we got re-booked fro July , overheard some really good comments among the punters too. so onto a fairly big gig next weekend , its the retirement do for the landlord of a pub we played regularly in our old format and we were his favorite booking , so , no pressure there then
18. I walked these into the shop and a guy asked about them , he gave the shop £40 and I helped him put them in his car
19. Holy Thread bump Batman I was sorting out some of my kit in the garage , and yep , I found this ! Just cranked it up , woke the street and it still sounds lovely. So a reminder , silly local offers might grab this , I am half heartedly negotiating a trade with the local rehearsal studio for this against room time , but if anyone has a few readys and has the brass to part with a bit of it shout up Lurks
20. I'll give these till the weekend then i'll run them down to the Roy Castle charity shop .
21. Yep , a very pleasant guy to purchase from , excellent comms , very pleased with everything Cheers Pete
22. They are not the thing though now are they, everyone wants active , so do I 😀
23. It great to be back in this thread !! The new line up were out tonight , effectively the old lineup less rhythm guitar , so a bit more space and a bit more work , new songs and new arrangements of old ones. It went well enough , a new venue as well , so getting the sound right proved a bit troublesome , but after about 6 songs we dialled in and it worked really well . Back on the road again😊
