1. I have this bit of kit that I havent used in a while and it is only collecting dust, though it is in a covered rack, so not tooo much If it's not worth £50 make me an offer , postage will be a few notes on top, but that's it. Ed to note..the dynamic processor in the pic is not part of the EQ module , though the Equaliser does have its own control to a degree on compression/limiting
2. I have 2 pairs of passive PA tops / floor monitors/ speakers call them what you will, and I would like others to share the life that is left in them We used them in the band for many years and while I have replaced a few bits along the way, they work fine I seem to recall they are all rated around 300W whether that is peak or RMS I have no clue , but powered with a Behringer europower 1500W amp they were enough for all the gigs we did at the time . I dont suppose its worth a hard sell as I am giving them away I have a pair of Thomann the BOX PA300II ABS cases very strong construction and a pair of 'classD' speakers , these are made of wood, so when the drivers are tired you could burn them to keep warm, or replace them and carry on , which I did once or twice. they might need a clean they have been under a bench in the garage for a year or two Collection please , Chester area , no probs meeting reasonably local .
3.
No free time this month (medical matters that'll occupy most of May...), so here's mine, whilst I still can... Evolution (All Things Must Pass...) ... Enjoy.
I have absolutely no idea how you manage to do your tunes to such quality in such a short time , incredible , and only cements my reason not to listen to them before I've done mine
4. I have a lot on my plate again this month, so I have kept this simple ...... and mercifully short https://soundcloud.com/lurksalot/birth enjoy
5.
There were big steps forward in latency with ththe new 2nd Gen Scarlett's over the 1st gen driver (which the Forte shared), so you may well see an improvement (depending on a lot of variables) in a 2nd Gen 2i4. Si // Focusrite Media Relations
I understood that the gen 1 Scarlett runs on the Gen 2 drivers? I changed mine and it does seem to run with a lot less latency , though I will get a gen 2 fairly soon anyway 😊
6. Well done Chiliwailer , great track , it deserves the honours
7. Voted myself now , Not only are the compositions top notch , but I think the overall production standard is brilliant .
8. When I first started I used a 2.1u as an interface , it did work but the latency was an issue , and IIRC the volume levels went funny on playback . I guess hacks are ok for you clever dudes who know what you are doing , but I now just go for stuff that's designed for the job
9.
I've just listened to it on the phone and the bass is rather clicky which is the way I like it. I might re master the song if I get a chance. Do you thinknow the kick drum has too much high top end?
I have listened to the track and the kick is fine , The click is defo the bass hit hard, and if thats what you like then its fine
10. I'll have a listen as soon as I get the chance 👍
11.
Thanks for advice. I'll give it a go. That clicking must be me playing bass hard?
I am not sure , but a quick listen on my phone suggests to me the top end fq of the kick , though I can also hear the click of a hard hit bass at a few points, funny though, I didn't pick up that when listening at home last night
12.
Me too, muchly. Good Stuff, I'll gladly listen to that again (and again, and again...).
Cheers Douglas, you are too kind, I have had a run through of the entries and they are incredible so far, it really is just as well I don't listen in before I do mine, as I think I would get cold feet every time
13. I'm in I really enjoyed this , a surprise as it is a bit angry really, I pretty much had it down last night but wanted lurksalittle to do some singing on it. Unfortunately she couldn't see a line , even though I offered her the whole thing, however , she did re-direct a big part of the focus , it just needed a tiny touch to bring it somewhere like I was hoping for, but she saw it ! Who the hell https://soundcloud.c...ot/who-the-hell now to do some listening Ed to add , there are a couple of rude-ish words in there , nothing most youngsters haven't heard mind
14. Reading the thread I cant wait to get listening to the stuff already posted , I am hoping to get some time this week to get stuck in , I have some lyrics in my head but need to get them dialed in to a tune .
15.
Excellent sir, It has blown my idea out of the water..( I had Bert with his 'swinging safari' !!) So...
I deliberately don't listen to any entries until mine is done , or at least fleshed out and ready for tweaking. I am sure that if anyone had gone the same route as I was thinking, I would get a mental block and my inspiration would freeze
16. Have you chosen a picture yet and sent it to Skol? After all for this months challenge we are waiting on you 😜
17.
Well pleased to see 24 voters..! Someone must be doing something right. Good stuff from all (yes, even Lenny, albeit grudgingly... ). And the picture for April is... (Bearing in mind today's date, I'm apprehensive ...)
Not just a great turnout for the entries, but I concur, 24 voters is great to see , thanks to all for getting involved. Congrats to SH73 , a well deserved win
18. Ive voted now, 3 jumped out at me to be fair , seemed to either fit really well or were just great. well done all for another fine selection , well worth the listen
19. this has been a complete rush but i'm in. it's always great when I listen to soundcloud cos invariably the next tune is the Weeds investigate : duality of man , it just puts a smile every time anyway more mundanely here's mine https://soundcloud.com/lurksalot/first-rule-of-the-pool
20.
Being frustrated in a band is not normal. For those of us that do our homework and only join bands that meet our requirements including material requirements you mitigate that frustration. Blue
I get your positivity , but in reality ANY relationship involves compromise , and if its with 3 or 4 others the compromise can lead to frustration , homework is relevant , but situations change and develop, managing your own expectations is useful in this regard.
21.
Manacles Tentacles Spectacles Testi... I'll get my coat.
...testiclemes ?
22. This month is a right struggle for me I am in the middle of a kitchen build , mad at work , new band start up , loads of songs to learn with arrangements as we are a 3 piece musically , and while I am sure I can find time to record something , my head can't find the space to get the angle , still a few days left ...break over , back to it
23. Ah OK thanks Dad So like having a full perm every time would be boring and unnatural, so a full perm then a soft wave , then a frizz all done randomly would look much better . I might try that
24.
I'm sorry, Lurks, I forgot that not all here are members of the intelligentsia. 'C3' refers to the 'piano' key that will trigger the bass drum through MIDI. The notes are numbered by octave, where C0 is a very low C indeed. Typical drum configurations, such as General MIDI (GM...) use C for the bass drum, C# for the snare, and so on. For the purposes of my experiment I could have chosen any key at all; I just naturally went for the 'standard' key for the bass drum. I'm assuming that the concept of a Round Robin is within your grasp (generous as I am this evening...), and that velocity levels hold no secrets from you..? If not, I'll elaborate further. Anything else too cloudy for you..? ... To tell the truth, most of this stuff was way beyond my ken a week or so ago, and anyway, I forget it as fast (or faster...) than I pick it up..! Old age, eh..?
Cheers Dad , I do recall seeing numbers on the midi keyboard now you come to mention it Now as for a round robin, well there's the plump one in my garden that loves mealworms , and the bet where you get perms from 3 picks and that's it
25. Well thank you Douglas , that is very generous of you , now , can we go back to the first bit I started to lose it ...... C3, what's that all about
