1. not as I have experienced , I even changed computers after 3 years and lost the activation code , an email later and they sent me another for the new computer , quality support and a top DAW
2. I have a b2.1 and yes copy the nearest patch to the user section and fiddle away , RTM and it does explain the detail
3. I've got Reaper and a 2i2 , so I'll pass on this
4. Well done gents , 2 very worthy winners, I'm chomping at the bit now so get your photos to the Skolmeister so we can start Marches
5. Yep some beauties in there again. Just a quick reminder that it's a short month is February , the winner will be declared midnight Tuesday , so dive in while you can
6. and the singer had his words on a music stand !!
7. I have done as much as I can now while it is based on the picture, there is a darkness to this one, a close colleague has had a family tragedy and I couldn't help but be influenced by it. Ez drummer bashes out the beat, and I picked up my Ibanez 6 string and started making some dark tones using Waves Guitar3 , then when I had something close, I built a bass patch to suit it. The lyrics are simple but to the point on this one, enjoy Broken https://soundcloud.com/lurksalot/broken
8.
So if Basschat was a pub, it'd be one of those with knackered carpets, cheap pints of 80 shilling and bags of pork scratchings behind the bar
And most importantly , the wall hanger with Big D's that slowly revealed itself when you had your nuts ;-)
9. I have had a brilliant couple of hours . I managed to get a focus on this one but I do need a vocal , I am going to give it a go because it is a bit personal the way it has panned out , but if I cant do it justice I will try and get someone. I have only had a short time to get it recorded , but its one of those that has been seeping into me since about 4 days after I posted the picture. I need angry , but tuneful , I can do angry , but the tune bit tends to be just beyond me, I'll wait till the house is empty till I get some screaming done , then we'll slap it through the autotune.
10.
Just to set the record straight the bass jam was not my work, I was hiding behind a pillar.
DOH it was BIg Lump. ....Ade who set that up , the anagram thing got me 😳
11.
Ugh. I am going to have to back out due to a family situation. I am really sorry (and gutted). To add insult to injury I had to watch Wales lose while waiting with the injured party on A+E. Ho hum. If there is any hint of a loss I will chuck £10 into the coffers.
I hope all is OK Owen, funds should be fine , thanks for the offer .
12.
So, loaded the cabs, amp, bag & stands into the boot. First bass loaded onto back seat, second bass being loaded into front seat footwell then I discovered this. Not a happy bunny. Played a gig in a rough hole last night band there was glass on the car-park. Thought I'd got away with it as the drive home was fine! Going to be spending the afternoon sorting this out now. Have fun everyone, I was really looking forward to this. If your short of funds from today to cover the costs, please let me know and i'll happily transfer my £10.
Thats a shame , I hope you got it sorted, OK Funds are OK , finished up with a few pennies over which we can put to the next one.
13.
Definitely a blast. As i'd imagined, i came away with serious gas for a MM sabre. Also, i left my stands there like an idiot. Did someone grab them? Is was a silver one and a 3 way. I'd greatly appreciate getting them back
Yup Ive got them , they are not transport friendly are they , I had to cut them in half to make them fit in my cable bag If you remember where my place is you can pop round for them
14.
Yeah but a good one buddy. Only had to punch in the info once.
Quality , You are all most welcome , don't forget Chris sorted the room and thats what kickstarted the event. There were some lovely bits of kit and some lovely playing Highlights , eads inpromptu bass jamb and his subsequent conducting thereof Vinny's daisy rock monster Kevvo66 little schroeders , I thought they were excellent Mister T's groove through his Vanderkley , smooth Tommorichards 8x10 a true beast with some awesome sounds through it. Cake , many thanks Josie , and for the stories behind your lovely axes. Funkgods lovely array, all with string height measured with a rizzla Bassmansam for the pictures when he susses out how to upload them and everyone for attending , and apologies for any mentions I've missed , everyone brought something to the party , just by being there .
15. Thats a shame Les , best wishes to your mum. We'll give you some proper stage time next bash so that you can do your NW Kebab house presentation
16.
Bash newbies, feel free to click on my bass blog link in my signature, and you'll see what really happens at a bash.
Uh Oh , I am not sure it is going to be as organised as some of them look Sylvia One day we may attract some superstars of the Bass playing world but, as an inaugural event , we do have the uber-talented, multple BC composition winning , recordist extraordinaire and song writing impressario that is ........ SKOL So there
17. WE have the room from 12 till 6 I would imagine that 6 hours might be a tad over the top for the gathering so I would suggest from 1.00 till you've had enough. Myself and Funkgod can get there a touch earlier to make sure all is good , then all may arrive as they wish. The room has very close parking round the back for a couple at a time or a short walk through the club corridor , I'll bring a sack truck to let people use if they find the need, Dont forget an extension cable and a tenner , and all will be good , I have lanyards and name tags done , I have written your BC name on them and left room for you to put your real name if you wish , though I have done Les , Josie, Owen and Vinny quite big , so there might not be enough room for their real names

20.
Well done to Lurksalot, well done me, well done everyone else!! I thought my effort was a bit rubbish this time, all felt a bit half hearted when I did it!. I genuinely was not expecting this one to be so well liked, so thanks to everyone who voted ! I officially nominate, and will be more than happy for Lurksalot to choose the next pic, as I am much better at being inspired than trying to inspire others to be fair! Cheers, James
many thanks and well done James , I will find a picture tout-suite , you can ignore the PM I sent earlier asking if you wanted to choose a pic
21. Many thanks all for taking part and for the voters , a splendid performance on both counts . As wt midnight , close of play , I am humbled to announce that joint winners with a very close run challenge , are myself and Bleat . We shall confer on a photo and I will post February's thread this evening
22. Welcome to the forums Pat the gig is a get together with kit , so it will probably be a bash Its under the NW bass Bash , pinned at the top of the events forum
23. Just to add , 28 voters in total at time of posting is fantastic, thanks for all your support , I really hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoy making it
24. Each month I see the picture and want to write and record the best rock song in the world ,ever, then I actually start work on it and sods law means it takes a different direction. Being fairly unimaginative , I tend to find lyrics help me to describe a scene , but being a God awful singer means that sometimes I have to draw quite deeply on my ability to say 'WTF' Equipment is sparse , focusrite 2i2, microphone, bass, guitar and/or a digital piano that gives me some different sounds or midi. EZ drummer and a few plug ins. One of the drivers for me is the excuse to actually do it, I have always believed I can write the best song in the world , it's just that I now realise that it is going to take a bit of practice , and the monthly deadlines means that the focus all brings the day that I will At some point have the ability, to tell the story in my own words and music that I need to tell . I only ever first used a DAW to join in with this challenge after a month or two of it starting , and now I have recorded nearly 50 tracks , incredible really , I love it
25. Ok , we'll call it a tenner , this does have at least one advantage... I haven't got to bring 25 £2 coins with me
