The Great British Bass Lounge - comment on facebook
lurksalot replied to bluesparky's topic in General Discussion
It sounds just sales banter to me , IIRC they are selling up and want shut of stock , so it's likely just positioning to encourage exposure and sales , seems like it is working !! -
what is alt tab out

This sounds like a great idea, I have a whole load of ideas but only 37 minutes left on my Soundcloud account Favourite so far is Minnie Ripperton , hmmm I could do it like the Photo comp, but put up 4 versions and choose the [s]best[/s] least worst at the death , sounds like a plan
Lord Sausage and the Boy ..........
well done gents , they were both superb ! -
Our rhythm guitarist is a massive fan , if he had his way we would be a tribute ! I am not sure we have ever played a gig without at least 1 REM number in there somewhere !

VOTING TIME -----November Composition Challenge
lurksalot replied to lurksalot's topic in General Discussion
Voted , fantastic fare on offer yet again , well done indeed -
Most of the places we play have barely enough room for me let alone any spare stuff! I think the drummer has room for a couple of spare sticks , but that's about it.
I always see that clapping as mocking and or ironic.
However it's intended is better than the clap I got last year !
What happened to that nice Mr Lurksalot that did such sterling work a short time ago..? I liked him; he had the knack of getting the trains to run on time. ...
Oh my days , recognition at last , thanks Dad , though I must say we did gave an unfortunate derailment yesterday , Albus, the grandson, had a bridge strike and consequently Annie and Clarabel rolled over onto their backs and Thomas landed on top , what a mess. Still , a full investigation exonerated the management and we are back on schedule Well , the trains are at least !!

Surprised by what I heard on Radio 2 today
lurksalot replied to steantval's topic in General Discussion
I have to confess that I heard both and liked them , I did have a quick look around though to check no-one noticed -
I suppose in the spirit of a BC Bass bash then yes , we should be a BC get together , If however there is someone who has the potential of some quality input then I don't see why not , just not a free for all I guess.

I have to say I have never followed their pricing , but a couple of years ago I bought a used TC rig , the RH 750 was retailing new at around £950 and seemed to plummet almost overnight to around £700 IIRC but now new at GAK is £837 , the prices do seem all over the place and did at the time I bought . Still I am quite happy with it and it has cured my amp/cab GAS

Sunday12th of Feb. from 12.00 and up to 6.00, 1, Hot food to order 2, big room 3, stage 4 bar 5, seating area. 6, free parking right out side 7, small pa. 8, ( i can if needed provide a larger pa if needed) 9, easy to get too by cheshire oaks. post code = CH65 6QF. phone number, contact details and map.... http://www.whitbyclu...tact/4570950131 Costs per head will get sorted in due course, but to cover the room they will be minimal but we could possible negotiate flowing teas/ coffees and maybe a jam butty each for a few pennies extra , but that is a bonus one to look forward to Thread wise , I will start a list in a new post and if you would be so kind as to add your name to the list by copy/paste or if on a mobile just add your intention to come, then the next person, myself (or anyone who wants to) can tidy it up as we go along . I am really looking forward to it already

That sounds excellent, well played that man , I am out tonight but I will try and get a thread up tommorrow which we can use for the event, NW bass bash is go !
-
you are always welcome , I hope your mojo picks up really soon

its only a little Ibanez s421 , not even a bass , but after having a yammy pacifica for ages , the neck on the Ibby is a fair bit wider and is far easier to play!
-
I'm in , kept it simple this month , I got a new six string so I had to have a go on it . This month is a blast on the sequencer so Lurksalittle says I was cheating , so she doesn't appear on this one, still , vocally , nor do I https://soundcloud.com/lurksalot/hope

I have a similar thing with my Spectors I have a legend 4 that I bought ages ago and love it , I then ordered a Euro4LX , a beautiful guitar with a fantastic usable tone range ,but, the neck being through , is a tiny bit thicker , hard to measure and slightly fatter than the bolt on legend neck. To me the difference is chalk and cheese and the legend is my go to. I suppose I should have played a few Euros before I ordered a new one!!
