Voted..... Mr Lurksalot has ruined my life. I can't stop singing his song and although I would probably chuck a brick at him if I met him he still deserved a vote. I can't say I liked them all, however, they were all well put together. Excellent piece by mr lowdown also, well done to all and hopefully I'll put an entry in next month.
If you meet me , I am tall , slim but solid, clean shaven and devilishly good looking ........... honest ...... , thanks for the vote , and don't forget .. one on top of the other

That just rubs it in !!

Cheers guys , I understand reaper is not supported , but if I know what I need to do its not so bad , learning how to faff around each time is a total PITA, especially as I want to play with my new toys , not spend 2 hours trying to open the box
-
I have heard good things about these guys and during a recent special offer giveaway type thing I have bought a few new VST's. , I think they are great and will use them , but the hassle of getting Reaper to load them has been totally off putting. Each time it's the same , the latest attempt being to update reaper and uninstalling waves central snd starting again , is this normal ? If it us I will leave them alone next time
Well there seems to be something in the air this month, as I too have deviated somewhat from my comfortable zone... https://soundcloud.com/nigel-jewell/brooklyne-stinker Nige
Sswwweeeeeeeet
It was NOTHING like a regular electric bass bash last time, I played every bass there if anyone can find the picture of the group shot you will see how many basses there were, more than anywhere I've visited so far that's for sure.
Hows that then Pete It was a brilliant day , I really enjoyed it. My DB hasn't progressed at all since the event , but that is not the fault of the event It is well worth attending even just to meet those offering up their help and advice. Lovely people, some great stories, a good venue that looked after us, some great showmanship , superb instruments to get a feel of and Owens DB in leopard skin pyjamas , what is not to like ? and having said that , I think SWMBO has family plans over that weekend with birthdays etc , so I think I will struggle to attend but if anyone has the slightest leanings or interest in DB, I would wholeheartedly recommend attending without hesitation.

Software to split MP3 files into multiple tracks?
lurksalot replied to Gottastopbuyinggear's topic in Recording
The bit I used to find a pain was finding the starts and ends , but asking for a good 10s quiet after a the end of each song made It a lot easier to find the gaps ! -
My EV's have a through signal to daisy chain them , but with miss matching brands I wouldn't know whether they apply frequency crossovers to the overall signal or handle the frequency they are best at and pass the complete signal through to the next cab IYSWIM

we had a great weekend , following from the Saturday party , we had a wedding to do on the Sunday , as it was up the coast and paying very well , I booked a room at the posh(ish) hotel and took the family , as did rhythm guitar. We set up really early , which was just as well as the venue had a stage set up which was far too small, but a chat with the manager and it was all taken away in time ,so we set up on the floor as normal. we pretty much had the day to ourselves and then had the craic with the wedding party as the families were invited in as well . We had learned 4 new tunes for the couple and the first dance was aerosmith, Dont want to miss a thing , we kept it simple and slowly ramped it up and by the end they were all in a group hug and crying their eyes out , it was an incredible start to a gig. we played for an hour , gave them a good break and smashed it for the rest of the night , lovely couple, superb occasion , superb venue . I had been looking forward to this weekend all year , and it didn't disappoint , but back to reality , I have a week off work to get busy on building work for my new kitchen extension and August is quiet for the band as the lads tend to use it for family holidays . so its not back to gigs till September 3rd , but that is a quality one so looking forward to that as well !

We played for an hour at our rhythm guitarists 50th party, it was the only time in the 6 years of the band that everyone had had a few drinks and we were on fire ! Even my daughter thought it was great , and that is a rare occurrence
-
Its daft , but I let soundcloud run through the tracks I like after checking my own uplload , and end up listening through previous months entries , it always brings a smile .

I have struggled for time for any number of reasons this month so my playing on this one is a touch sloppy me thinks, but needs must when the devil drives https://soundcloud.com/lurksalot/room-just-room
I'm just gonna leave this here. http://epipes.co.uk/products.html
That is funny , lots of chuckling at that , I am actually still not convinced it is real , more like a proper elaborate April fools features blurb for the electronic bagpipe ........

Authentic Highland Pipes and Smallpipes sounds.
Highly portable. Fits in your pocket: only 16 x 249 mm (5/8" x 10").
Contains all the electronics as well as the battery: no extra box to plug in.
Uses standard 3.5 mm stereo earphones: perfect to play on buses, trains etc. Ideal for the commuter. Well I have started one now , I am just about managing to get a bit done when it is hammering down , We are mad busy at work and I have an extension to finish building so it is a struggle to catch an hour here and there , and even then it takes me an hour to remember how to play the last bit I just did !
