1. I have a few cheap basses that look quite good hung on the wall , SWMBO likes the look of them so thats OK , but my regular gigging basses are Spector and they serve me well and they pay for themselves . TC electronic amp and cabs now , lightweight , great sound and I gig them and they pay for themselves That does me I think ....for now
2. I first came here when I found a cab advertised that I was after , and now I cant get away ... ed for loads of stuff I was posting in the wrong thread !!
3.
I can see why some of you chose this stay home option. It's less work. I say if you don't like gigging your really not in this. Blue
Got to be honest Blue , but your posts come across like you are actually trying to convince yourself that you need to keep gigging dude
4. I think it's great , music production is very new to me , and soundcloud suits it . It does surprise me that while originally I had a certain amount of 'time' to use , it does seem to have increased the allowance without asking for the subscription that it suggested was necessary
5. Ok I'm in , a bit of a cheat on the production and playing , but thanks to Lenny and Dr J for their input , It shouldn't scare you too much . I got some friends and colleagues to do some shouting aswell https://soundcloud.com/lurksalot/acacapulco
6. we have a few genres grouped together , so we have some punk stuff , modernish rock , clasic rock , dance , a couple of anthem styles , and some slower ones , we try to revolve them a bit and have 5 or 6 that can be used in each 'genre' , all the while trying hard not to play summer of 69 !
7.
Is there a plugin to get 100 synchronised swimmers in your mix?
well if they are very good synchronised swimmers , they will only sound like one big swimmer
8. mines close now , I put a call out for some shouty bits and got some , great sports on here its all in pretend music mode using midi/sequencers and drum machines but some big voicy shouty bits that give the theme , I have a few more shouts to add and the effect will be complete and ready to post, then I will listen in to the others
9. I reckon your style will carry it dude , no problem. If its a touchy feely thing with the guitar , then talking to him would soon get the answer you need , I'm guessing he would be cool with it our next few gig are without our rhythm guitarist , well he has broken his wrist quite badly , so his input will be down to BV's and dancing around like a fat Bezz , he's cool with that as well
10. In fact I have even had another idea , if anyone passing through this thread wants to contribute to mine , send me a PM and I'll drop an idea past you , no singing involved , just recording a few shouty words
11. I can hear the high pitch cat scarers that some people put across their gardens , I don't know what frequency or volume it is , but considering most of the people who put them there can't hear them I was pretty pleased with that !!
12. I have found an angle for this one now , not toooo many lyrics , but I am hoping that I will get an ensemble , so anyone who even walks past the house too near to the door is going to get a microphone up close and personal like
13.
My Mom passed at 84 years of age. She knew more about Rock and Roll than me. She never got old. Old is a state of mind. I would bet there are 30 something's here older than me by my definition. Blue

Guys, I'm not old, I'm merely older. I'll never be old. Blue

Not for some of us 4 Sting. Rock & Roll ,playing bass and gigging is it for me.I have zero interest in anything else. I've always been this way. Blue
The way you describe this is almost the definition of old , to me keeping young is all about an open mind, a willingness to do different things , enjoy a load of challenging experiences, jump out of your comfort zone , feel alive doing something else once in a while , you might even surprise yourself
14. I have just mentioned that to SWMBO , my composotion might be a bit late in , what with the bruising and all !!
15. All the best Douglas , sorry to hear the news , wishing you well
16. We have had some very wet themes recently , when I win this month* I think I will choose a picture of a desert ..... Or even a dessert *well, a bit of optimism won't hurt will it
17. If you head over to the 'Recycle' section of the forums there are a few books that are for 'passing on' the idea being that one member can pass the book, or whatever, to someone else who wants it before the process starts again. Granted it occasionally appears sometimes the books get stuck or lost , but if the members keep on the ball the facility is there to use .
18. Well well Douglas , the time being 00.01 sees you with your nose over the finishing line just in front of a chasing posse ! Congratulations Dude , get that certificate printed for yourself ASAP , oh and get that photo to Paul straight away
19.
.......... I feel like I've lost a favorite uncle. Funny, silly, kind and sincere; loved him. So sad he has gone.
That is a great way of putting it , I think the world is a better place for him being here .
20. I used one on a laptop for a while , but yes the lappy was starting to run out of steam and did start clicking when i did build a number of tracks on a project , but the recording side the dedicated interface was a revelation , I originally used a zoom effects pedal which had a usb interface built in , but it was a real pain looking back, the proper interface just works properly , simple as that really.
21. never mind all this blue the coolest is the Spector Emerald green flamed maple , on a Euro 4 it is most excellently cool , but hey, on a Legend would look just as good
22. A quick look here http://tascam.com/product/dp-24sd/ seems to suggest that the kit will do what you ask . seems a lot for what you need though , a simple interface like a scarlett 2i2 would interface to your laptop easily , it has a monitoring so that latency doesnt affect that much and although you will need some simple DAW skills , it is definately do-able
23. for some reason, I read the last sentence that you are not inflatable
