1. The truss rod is very tight. I got about a 1/4 of a turn out of it last night before I got too scared and it didn't make much difference to the relief. The wenge/bubinga laminate is very rigid so I'm afraid to tighten the rod any more. since there is a lot of force on it already. The tops of the frets are wide and flat, which is presumably why (in combination with the nut) it doesn't intonate properly. Also, I'm fairly sure that there isn't normally a gap between the nut and the truss rod cover on all the Warwicks I've seen. I suspect something may have shrunk, which made those parts no longer flush.
2. All sorted.
3. I've only played the newer Warwicks. The Corvette $$, Corvette fretless and Thumb BO were amazing. Whereas the FNA Jazzman 5 and the SS1 were a bit weird both in terms of tone and ergonomics. I thought they would all have relatively similar neck profiles, but I guess not?
4. I don't like Sadowskys.....There, I've said it. The ones I played really didn't live up to the hype they get IMO.
5.
as impressive as the playing is, I do find the music to be lacking something. The rhythm, timing and groove are impecable, but, as you guys have said, the fact that there are only basses being played does restrict the timbre somewhat, and there isn't really much variation in the way of dynamics.
+1 Marcus Miller is one of my favorite bassists; Victor has amazing technique and Stanley Clarke's style is very unique, but I can't help but think the song might work better with more in terms of instrumentation.
6. I remember visiting Tokyo about 6 years ago when I had just started playing bass. I saw this guitar shop, walked inside, thought "Damn, they've just got boring Fenders and Fender knockoffs" and left. Having just seen those photos and looking back, I think that shop might have been Ishibashi I'd love to visit Tokyo again now though.
7. Lomenzo is as solid player, with great tone too. But he didn't write those iconic basslines that Ellefson did.
8. £130 for the Peavey anybody?
9. I went over to Production Room in Leeds to try out some monitors today: KRKs - I really liked the RP5s, but the RP6s and RP8s didn't have as much mid/high definition although they had more (albeit slightly muddy) bass Yamahas - They didn't have any of the HS series, but the MSP5s didn't seem nearly as fatiguing as people make it out to be. I thought it sounded a bit boxy though Adam A7s - Very detailed highs but surprisingly lacking in bass Sonodyne - Never heard of them before, very detailed high end but terrible bass response, even the larger ones Genelac - I wasn't originally even considering these but the 8020B, even with a 4" driver sounded surprisingly balanced. Event Opals - The guy showed me these just for fun. Way out of my price range but certainly an amazing listening experience. I think it's between the RP5s and the 8020s. The Genelacs are over twice the price of the KRKs and I'm really not sure they're twice as good. They weren't set up at the same desk so I couldn't do a direct A/B comparison. However, after A/Bing the 8020s with some 8030s, 6010s + sub and the Opals I must say I preferred the 8020s to the 8030s, and they even stacked up favorably in terms of highs/mids to the Opals. The A7s have come very highly recommended from everyone on here and other forum, but I wasn't particularly impressed with them - something wrong with my ears? So in short, I still have no idea what to buy!

11.
Are you sure, or is that a presumption? Maybe they are just very good at customer service.
Other people in the shop didn't seem to be getting as much attention. Maybe they were just desperate to sell something expensive?
12. I had a job interview today and on my way to the train station I decided to pop into the local guitar shop. They didn't have much in terms of interesting bass gear but I saw a few very nice PRS guitars. I asked to try out a special edition Custom 24 (They didn't have a tag on it, but it's a ~3k instrument) two employees got up immediately and set up an amp for me and got me a chair to sit on. I didn't get any of the usual "Are you actually going to buy it?" attitude that you get with these chain stores. They were bending over backwards to sell me this guitar. The reason why? I was wearing a suit On the other hand, I've had equally nice service from Electro Music and Wavelength music without having to wear a suit. Similar experiences, anybody?
13. Volkswagen Polo : There isn't a picture because I can't fit any gear in my car at all Even a hiscox bass case barely seems to fit across the back seats.
14. I think this has sold already.
15. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Musicman-Stingray-5_...=item2eabfbc958 If I saw it earlier I probably would have bidded on it, local too! It's surprising since a similar one, with local pickup only, went for £125 more.
16.
Sheffield
Yep. I'm in Sheffield.
17. Very good condition with the exception of one chip. The ebony board with the 12"-16" compound radius makes it a dream to play. It's got Sperzel locking tuners installed and I'll include a Jackson hardcase with it. Pictures: I'm looking for £400 collected for this.
18. Something I want has come up on Ebay and I could do with raising some cash. Bump!
19. [removed by mod - Dood] Sorry this little fella isn't 'musically related' - although I'm sure it makes a lovely sound!
20. The only deal I've had was my old Spector Euro for £500. Although a few months back I managed to trade £300 for £500
21. I've got a Peavey MAX 450 head and an Ashdown 1x15 cab if you're at all interested? I imagine it could be logistically difficult though.
22. It looks like a custom/home made job. Or maybe something Japanese?
23. Are you up for a straight sale?
