1.
Here's a recent acquisition, a very rare USA Lakland 55-76... possibly the Holy Grail for a Stingray 5 fan who wants 19mm string spacing... that'll be me then! Custom scratch plate added by Martin at The Gallery. Plays like a dream, sounds phenomenal, light as a feather, but still balances beautifully.
Nice! Haden't seen one of these before- what year was it made?
 2.
None of their basses are really intended for BEAD though it can of course be done. The Super P & J are 32'' to 34.25'' for 4 strings or 35'' for 5 strings. For what it's worth I dropped my Super P's B string all the way down to a G for a song and it still sounded strong and clear (though it felt like an overcooked spaghetti).
Thanks for picking that one up, Eloann
 3.
Are you ABSOLUTELY sure you don't want to trade for a Markbass CMD121P? (+ a bit of cash your way) say you'll do it, say you'll do it, say you'll do it ... listen to the voices man!
Trouble is I really don't need another amp and if I was to go for a swap deal with the MarkBass, I would then be putting that one up for sale straight away
 4. very good price for a cab of that quality
 5.
I have a very rare vintage trolley with uprated wheels and neodymium axles. It has a fair amount of playwear, but since it's a sought-after transitional model I could never get it re-fin'd.
Is it any good for metal?
 6. Recently bought an amp from Darren. It arrived well packaged and in good condition, exactly as described. Would be happy to deal with again anytime. P
 7. It's the 'P' version and is passive More info on the bases here: http://www.dingwallguitars.com/basses/super-p/ Just checked the weight on two different scales and it comes in at just under 7.5 lbs P
 8. Hmm looks good - might just call in there tomorrow and try it out.. Just messin with you
 9.
Maybe they havn't taken it out of all the packaging and want to just ship it straight out... mind you this would be pretty lazy.
Yes, I expect its sitting in a store room in the packaging it arrived in and they don't want to get it out to weigh it.
 10.
If it wasn't so far I would of snapped this up..
Thats what couriers are for

 14. I'd been thinking of trying out the double bass for a while and contacted Jake to arrange some tuition. I had a 2 hour session on Friday which consisted of first discussing what I wanted from the lesson and then going through the basics. I found Jake to have a great manner, giving lots of good advice and really helping me to understand the double bass and the different approach compared to playing electric. The two hours seemed to fly by and I left with some suggested areas to practice. All in all a positive experience and despite me being a complete newcomer I felt encouraged to continue with the upright. P
 15.
Can't tempt you with my xotic as a trade?
I really rate the Xotic basses, however, I'm just after a sale on this one. P

 22. <<<< NOW SOLD >>>> I'm a fan of these TI flats on a precision bass and bought a set last week to try on my jazz. I was less keen on them on the jazz bass and have decided to stick with rounds for that. These were loaded on the bass for half an hour as a trial only. They haven't been cut and are like new and come with original packaging Thomastik-Infeld JF344 43, 56, 70, 100 gauge £27 posted within UK Here is the manufacturers description: Drawing from the upright bass, Thomastik-Infeld JF344 Nickel Flat Wound Bass Guitar Strings have a legendary sound that is all their own with a deep, balanced tone unique from other flatwound strings due to its special nickel alloy ribbon that wraps around its Spirocore. The highly flexible steel core is wrapped with a silk inlay giving it a deep tone and high out put comparable to the double bass. “The outer winding is a true ribbon flatwound constructed of a special nickel alloy. The result is an incredible depth of tone and an enhanced fundamental which is unavailable from any other flatwound.” What makes Thomastik-Infeld different? Pursuing the perfect sound, Thomastik-Infeld starts with steel and nylon as core materials for their strings. The highly qualified technicians then wind and check every string by hand in order to insure quality and perfect tone. Infeld and his staff continually pursue the ever changing musical world, applying the evolving preferences in timbre, technique, and playing to their own imagination in pursuit of delivering perfection. Gauges: 43-56-70-100
 23. I can arrange a courier if required
 24. The online shops in the US are listing the LaBella Lo Tension strings at approx 30% above the price of the the regular flats: Four string sets @ $45 (against $35 for regular) Five string sets @ $60 (against $45 for regular) http://www.bassstringsonline.com/Low-Tension-Flexible-Flats_c_1501.html Taking the UK prices for the regulars flats as £36 for four string and £47 for five string sets, I reckon that the new Low Tension ones to cost here: £47 for 4 string sets £58 for 5 string sets Pretty much a straight $ = £ swap all round
 25.
a big lass fronted store.
You talking about Mark
