Have you tried guitar pro ? I find it to be more accurate, if not have I'll have a look around tonight and see if I can get something

I agree with eight- its quite good for improvising to but not so sure about songwriting. I bought the 2008 version and it included real drums for about 70 quid. I think the version you would want would be the pro one its better to go to their website and compare all their products . Real drums is quite good as its a sample of a real drummer playng rather than just midi so it sounds more realistic http://www.pgmusic.com/bandbox.htm

Just got a bass off ebay but I'm not happy with it and I want someone who knows what their doing to see if its worth me keeping or get a refund off the seller. Basically the action is too high ( I'm pretty sure I can fix that myself) the pickups dont pick up the sound evenly across the strings and the neck feels cluncky. I was going to try The Bass Gallery but the guys on holiday till next week and I would like to get it looked at this week otherwise the longer I leave it the harder it wil be for me to get a refund if its not worth fixing. Given the fact that it was cheap I'm looking for someone cheap rather than high end and I've had a look at the stickie but most of them look like they'll be expensive - or is that just my impression ? Can anyone suggest someone in the central/northwest or southeast London
Very enjoyable. Nice relaxed venue. Nice to see 4 BC'ers lined up at a table in the first row. I thought you were going to hold up scorecards after each song.
I'll have to remember that for next time -

Midi files and Cubasse LE4 sound problem thing
thunderbird13 replied to thunderbird13's topic in Recording
Funnily enough I had the same problem last night and hadn't had any issues playing MiDi files previously. Not sure if you are using PC or Mac, but i'm using PC and it turned out that the SW Synth Channel on the Master Volume was set to Zero, so no sound. Cranked it up and hey presto. I'm using Windows XP on this particular PC, so went to Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/Volume Control and changed the setting.
Thanks - I should have said I'm running XP as well. I 'm pretty sure I turned everything up but I'll have a look again tonight -
Right , you can tell by the title I haven’t a clue what I’m doing with recording and midi but basically I want to import a midi file into Cubase , play that back and at the samne time record a bass track over it so ultimately I will have the original midi file with my bass line over it on one file. Should be easy shouldn’t so why was it last night when I imported the midi file I couldn’t get a sound from it. I thought it could use the computer sound card is that wrong Cheers
Fabulous! Does this also mean you have perfect pitch?
No but he does have 20 20 vision

funny you posted this - I dont see notes as colours but feel that they have a colour , if that makes sense, and G definitely feels green and E yellow but I feel A to be a stronger red. It only becomes apparent when I'm doing scales or listening to something in isolation so its not much use really

Jam nights in the Sidup/ Chislehurst area
thunderbird13 replied to thunderbird13's topic in General Discussion
bit of a change of plan - Mrs Thunderbird has now decided that I'm babysitting tonight so I'll have to postpone my trip - will report back when [s]I’m off the hook [/s]I decide to go -
Just found out there's a jam night near me in the Beaverwood club - does anyone know anything about it ? I might check it out if anyone wants to join me give us a shout
-
I wish I had been told this when I started off, I spent years forcing myself to play 1fpf with only frustration as my reward - just think where I would be if I'd heard of simandhi before One question though - why is it the 1st 2nd and 4th fingers can you not just use 1,2 and 3 with the 4th being held out of the way , like when you drink a cup of tea
-
I dont get it - is he saying dont practice cos you'll play it differently live anyway
-
I'm sure its a strange coincidence but has anyone noticed the name of the newest member ( sorry if this sounds a bit paraniod )
-
anyone know when to expect an announcement ? I 'm planning the rest of my evening around this
The original posting from Jimmy seemed way over the top, which is why I responded with a joke. I'm sure other BC's thought the same.
I agree, Mrs Thunderbird is dyslexic and so is her son so I'm aware of the help that is avaiable , including computer programs which help the writing. Still I think its best if noone judges anyone else until we get the full story. I would ask the mods that they could inform us of any developments to avoid any illwill

am I the only one who thinks it looks quite nice ?
Then that is a real positive and it will help at the next audition where you may well be succesful and then your confidence will really grow. I'm convinced that being a bassist is 90% attitude and 10% actual ability (well I hope so anyway!!!!)
+1 The only thing I would add is that I do think that being good at auditions , a bit like job interviews, is a skill in itself which doesnt have that much to do with your actual playing ability
-
Ahh auditons - something which I'm going to have to endure now - who knows what criteria bands use. Perhaps they didnt like your hair, bass. shoes who knows but its prob not worth worrying about since its only one set of opinions . The reason does sound a bit weak though - whats so special about playing in a covers band anyway ? Surely and experience is band expereince irrespective of how its gained. Still at least they had the decency to phone you up !
