Well, well, well! Here I go then too. -
BabyBlueSound started following first post since years , Daphne blue Sterling Short Scale, with extra mirror pickguard and Fender soft gig bag , Don't trust EVRi and 3 others

The time has come to part ways with this lovely blue Sterling Short scale. Fender gig bag included. Simply put, it just does not work for me somehow. I have spent the last ~3 years trying to get used to it, but it's just not my thing. I think it's me, not the bass, as I had multiple friends try it and be absolutely amazed by it. It's an exceptionally resonant bass, you can feel every note sustained in the whole neck and body. I bought the bass from this forum ~3 years ago. Please forgive how the E is strung. I know, I messed up the short scale measurement... and haven't changed it for a while as these are Elixirs so they did not really lose any tone so far. Here's what I have done with it: - used it only at home - got a luthier grind the frets to shape (they were a bit wacky up the neck) and give it an overall setup, feels a LOT less buzzy - fix the bendy wonky pots the best we could. It's a thing with these shorties, everyone is complaining about them, and I even sent back my first shortie to a shop due to their quality. They're still not fully straight but they stopped scratching against the plate - had some grounding issues fixed in the electronics - single coil and parallel pickup configs sound just amazing Here's what I DON'T like about it: - 1-2 weird light green-ish discoloration spots on the neck. Not THAT visible on the photos but they're there, and I have no idea what they are and how they got there - very light mark on the side the headstock by the Hercules holder (which never marked anything else in my whole life to my knowledge, but here we are) - the aforementioned wonky pots - high action. It's simply not low enough for me. If you're a low action player, I DO NOT recommend this bass - extremely hot passive pickup. In Series mode, especially with the boost on, low E can distort We can sort out any sort of payment, but I prefer to avoid Paypal. I really dislike the company, their business practices, and everything about them. I had multiple friends seriously burnt by their "scam protection" which can turn out to be "scammer protection". I am a member here for years, I have also purchased the bass here, there won't be any messing around. I'd prefer local pickup but if you sort out the delivery and insurance with your chosen courier, I'm happy to pack it up for you.

Having just built the Mastodon clone last week, I really don't think you can fit that in the 1590A-ish enclosure! I wanted to add an extra BLEND pot in my 1590B and just could not fit it. Even without it, it was a very tight fit for me, I am a noob though. Sure, you can try getting rid of the bass switch (just leave it always on!), and the RELAX/PUSH as well (as that also can be safely left on PUSH always-on) to gain some space, but I still think you'd have to go narrower than the actual Fuzzdog PCB I used. Maybe you can wire the pots instead of soldering them on board, and flip the whole board 90 degrees...

I was honestly surprised the various stuff I could do with this pedal, so recorded a short tone demo. I never really wanted a fuzz pedal before, now I'm glad I built one 😅 I also wish I could play the guitar.

We got the same nice Evri lady for many many years, since the Hermes times. Only trouble is she comes after 7pm a lot which is not always ideal, but that's a 1st world problem.

Wow, I can't believe it but it actually works! 😁

Hey Everyone, I'm new into DIY pedals! Just finishing up my first FuzzDog pedal, a Mastodon (based on Mastotron). Final wirings are being done in the underbelly (hopefully done today or tomorrow), I have already tested the board out of the enclosure, seemed to work!

EXACTLY, I can barely even start them. 😅 And I don't know why, he absolutely seems like a nice bloke but his videos and presentation somehow just rub me the wrong way

Musicman stingray (dartray) with status graphite neck.
BabyBlueSound replied to reggieboomboom's topic in Basses For Sale
oh man, this is so beautiful it hurts, AND has a Status neck... like a dream. But I'm in similar shoes, I just can't get used to my (short) music man style bass, no matter how much I love the sound AND looks, they don't seem to work for my hands. Good luck selling it, I'm sure someone will want this beaut shortly! -
Don't be cash only, even a lot of us middle aged folks usually don't carry ANY anymore. I absolutely can't remember the last time I had any cash on me.

Damn, I think the truss rod in my Talman shortie is messed up. I wanted to give it some additional bow, as the neck seems a bit too straight. And I can turn the nut to the left alright, it's not too loose, it's not too tight, it never felt like it snapped. But nothing happens. I kept adjusting it over the course of 2 days, I am at a full rotation to the left at this point and I do not observe any changes in the neck bow at all. But it does not show the usual characteristics of a broken rod, like it being completely stuck, or just turning around too losely. It feels like it should, but again... NOTHING happens Might need another trip to the luthier... -

Hey, could you give me a link to this bass? It's fairly hard to find precision short scales, as the search engines just keep dumping the long scales on me, no matter how specific I am in search. -
Nice quality recording, all of it is recorded on to tape?

Very happy with the box! It was said on Youtube that some Radial boxes can colour the sound, which is obviously a huge issue for a Reamp box. That does not seem to be the case for me, the waveforms match, and they're the same audibly as well. The minor difference visible is due to the -0.2dB-ish difference on the mixer. A bit unrelated, but the box helped me see this... the Focusrite Clarett is said to have a ridiculously low latency among audio interfaces, which now I have tested and can confirm. Even with max zoom, there's barely any latency between the original and the reamped sample points!
