1.
This bass was on the market on BC for 400 quid last august from a guy in Scotland, and I put in an offer for much less than that. The guy was ready to sell it but I backed off as I had no funds for that. The idea of the forum is to buy and sell back at more or less the same price as a gesture of goodwill. A good deal should be shared. My opinion is shared with platinum multi-selling bassists like Beedster, Warwickhunt, Clarky etc who will never sell stuff for more than they have bought it for (if bought on BC).
I was the owner of this guitar in August last year and I wasnt trying to sell it then, I am in Aberdeen Scotland and bought it from a guy in Aberdeen Scotland and you have no idea what I paid for it nor am I going to tell you so whats your problem? I cant imagine anyone not hoping to get as much for an item they are selling that they can, if you can afford to take the first offer or feel moraly obliged to do so then good luck to you... I'll take what someone is willing to pay for it. G...

 4. Ok... I wasent trying to bump my price.... chance would be a fine thing... post deleted. Peace G...
 5. Warwick Streamer Stage 1. This guitar is in shocking condition for what was once a lovely guitar, I bought it about a year ago with the intention of refurbing it over time. Its still very playable and plays great and sounds fantastic. I have the feeling this guitar has been refinished before as some of the lacquer finish is flaking off where the guitar has been chipped and there is a crack in the top that I believe would be an easy fix. The lacquer is cracking in several other places and has gone milky as can be seen in the pictures. The point is if you wanted to return this guitar to its former glory then it would require a complete re-spray... alternativly play it as it is! The other main issue is the original electronics are missing, in fact I have no way of knowing what electronics were fitted in the first place, the guitar is currently fitted with Seymour Duncan Bassline P & J pickups and are wired volume/volume/master tone. The fourth pot was missing when I got the guitar and I filled the hole with a pot and knob I had kicking around... So, if you want a fixer upper or a working guitar that you can throw about without worrying about it then this is the bass for you. I am open to offers... and would consider trades or part exchange for a Fender Precision (not mex) or Gibson Eb3/SG...oh or a stingray! The guitar comes with an almost new Hiscox case. Price... ok lets start at £650
 6.
That's why we got the big PA - we've seen so many bands with weak PAs where there was no thump or power low down (kick drum & bass guitar), or things were on the limit of listenable because it was all being pushed well into the upper end of its capability. We wanted a PA that we knew we'd be able to push without the sound disintegrating. The prospect of low-as-possible/loud-as-necessary on-stage volume, and the resulting potential for us all hearing our vocals clearly, and for clean FOH sound just excites me something fierce . . . Call me a nerd . . . I do understand the joy of owning and playing through a 100w valve half-stack, and if I played guitar, I'd probably also aspire to something like that. For a guitarist who likes that set-up and has used it in every band he's been in, the prospect of arriving to play a gig with a liittle box like a 1x12 combo would probably make him feel less of a man, but I'm confident the proof would be in the pudding - the band would be more confident & comfortable while performing and FOH would be clean. Let the detractors mouth off all they want before the show, but be prepared to gobble up the humble pie aftwerwards . . . So . . . if the guitarists did downsize to something like decent 50-60w 1x12" valve combos (maybe even on angle-up stands?), and the drummer made efforts to reduce his volume (playing dynamics, damping/muting, etc), what would be an appropriate bass combo for me? I'm thinking that if we did this, our current monitors would probably fulfill their responsibilities comfortably. Mark
yes thats fine but the point is for any gig a 50w valve amp is more than enough and linked to a 4x12 its shift plenty air with a lot less db... know what I mean? G...
 7. I have to say if I owned a pub and you guys turned with 100w half stacks and 4K of pa and you then mik'd everything you would only play my pub once. A 4k pa is all well and good because its only as loud as you drive it and having acres of headroom is good, but a 100w valve guitar amp needs to be driven at a certain level or it sounds sh*t... so he's your problem!!!
 8. I am of the opinion that the odd battle scar is no big deal and if you feel that way its not so heart breaking when the inevitable ding occurs.... but I will say if its going to get damaged...I want to be the one doing it, not some careless prat who should take better care of someone elses property... 9.
Thanks for the replies guys. A couple of things, there are some fairly tight restraints on our budget at the moment, the Alto's mentioned are a possibility in a month or two's time. The other thing is our drummer uses an electronic kit .We think we'll need subs for the kick drum, whaddya think ?? Thanks again.
Ive been using a Yamaha EMX 5000-12 for a while, its not available any more but is loud and reliable and could be a good buy second hand... G...
 10.
Well done!!!! Sergeants Messes are notorious for telling bands to pack up and clear off. Clearly, that night they didn't fancy C&W etc. On another night it could've been your band, they're a damned fickle lot.
I should add that this was early 70's ... and the CW band were pretty bad!!
 11. Played a gig at an airforce base in Scotland many many years ago, it was in the seargents mess and was on three floors with a disco and c&w band on the other floors, it was their anual xmas bash and the wives were in evening dress and the men were in full dress uniforms with cumberbuns... We went on to play to about 10 people, and they didnt take any notice, so we entertained ourselves by playing Deep Purple and Uriah Heep until our break, after being fed and wattered by HMG we came back on to about 200 people... they got well into it.. they ended up paying off the c&w band and the dj and had a whip round to pay us to play longer... bonus!!
 12. I would like to get my Warwick Streamer S1 refinished and would like to know if there are any recomended repairers in Scotland as I dont fancy the hastle and worry of posting the beast... G...
 13.
Sounds like it could be a pickup failure.
I think you'll need to explain your theory, failure in what sense?
 14.
What is going on with that huge gap at bottom of you post, is it just me that sees that?
Its just you.....
 15.
How close are the pickups to the strings? Is it an active bass?
I tried adjusting the pickups and they are at their lowest setting.... its passive. G...
 16. I recently bought a Peavey Palaedium bass, nice guitar but a bit neglected, I cleaned it up and restrung it so it looks great sadly it sounds sh*t...!! There are a few issues, the strings play at different volumes at various places on the neck, the d and g strings get this harmonic feedback kinda thing going on around 11th 12th frets and will sustain forever....?? Whats going on with this guitar? G...
