  5. Thats a lot of cash for a bass that Jaco may have played 'for sure'.
  6. Bought a Megalith pedal from Andy. Same as above, really nice chap, easy to deal with. Recommended.
  7. Great pedal at a good price from a v.nice chap. GLWTS.
  8. That is beautiful. Totally eighties. GLWTS.
  9. Hello Al, Does this do decent synth pad sounds at all? Thanks
  10. Interesting basses these. I have a very early one- 1980 according to the man- and the shape is actually quite different. The top bout on mine is much more pointy, this one is quite rounded. There is a routered rebate around the top of mine, which has disappeared here, the pickups have moved (on the earlier basses the neck pickup was further towards the erm...neck), they have changed make (from Bill Lawrence blades to the Kent Armstrongs on this one) and the early ones had a passive tone circuit, whereas this one is active. The bridge on mine is a schaller, same as this, so maybe the one with the Overwater branded bridge is a very late one? Or did they change, then change back for some obscure eighties supply related issue? Who knows..... Anyway, fascinating. You have a lovely looking bass there. Shame these don't attract the same cachet as Wal's, otherwise someone would probably have paid you £240,000,000 for it twelve seconds after you put the advert up. 😂
  11. Really lovely, unusual bass Steve. Won't be around long I'm sure. GLWTS.
  12. Nice looking bass that. GLWTS.
  13. Terrifying. He has done a lovely job of screening the cavity though, fair play.😁
  14. Bloody lovely. Pm'd.
  15. Just saw this. Looking really good Andy. Following with interest. ✌️
  16. I did as it goes, and as others have noted on here previously, what a charming and helpful gent he is. I need a 5/16's spanner (same size as Gibson, apparently), and Chris was also able to give me a potted history of the bass, which is apparently a very early one which he dated at 1980 because of the rebate around the body, the Bill Lawrence pickups and the fact that it's passive. He also gave me some sage advice on adjusting the rod, which was very cool. I've included a pic of the bass below.
  17. Morning all, I have an Overwater bass- I believe its an 'Artisan'- it's a version of their classic shape with a carved top. The truss rod needs some adjustment and I was wondering if anyone knew what size tool I need (fnar fnar). The truss rod nut has the hex on the outside, so I'll need one of those skinny box spanners- I'm sure someone will tell me the correct name! Thanks! Stuart
  18. Cheers Pete. I'm on it!
  19. Well, one of the chaps said he didn't have a spray booth at the mo (just moved apparently- so totally fair enough) and the other didn't reply to my messages, which was a bit boring. Still, to paraphrase the always relevant David St Hubbins, in the hurly burly world of rock n' roll, these things happen...;0)
  20. drew a blank with all of these suggestions I'm afraid. Anyone got any other names? Thnx.
  21. +1 to that. Completely brilliant instruments. I'm sorely tempted.
  22. I shall, thanks Dan.
  23. Thanks Pete, I shall drop him a line.
  24. Evening all, I have a stripped P bass body that I need spraying in tobacco sunburst. Does anyone know of a handy chap/ette in east anglia who could help? I know some of the more talented (or reckless) among us would suggest doing it myself, but I am deeply hopeless at that sort of thing. Best left to a pro, I fancy. Any and all help much appreciated. Stuart
  25. Lovely bass that. GLWTS
