Here is my SC deluxe. It's an early one, serial number 87SC4596 which dates it to 1987 which fits with the 'made in West Germany' schaller machine heads. In the interests of full disclosure, there are a few minor dinks on it, but nothing too bad. I've tried to capture these in the photos. If you want more pics- let me know. It's a magnificent bass. The electrics all work as they should, the truss rods are fine, the action is low, the neck slim and fast. I truly do not want to sell this, but I've been offered a 20th anniversary model and the powers that be have firmly told me it's one in, one out, or else. It is made I believe, of walnut facings over a mahogany core with maple laminations. The neck is maple & purpleheart. The woodwork is astonishing. I'm happy to courier at your expense. I'd be happier if you tried it before buying. I'm in Bury St Edmunds most of the time. London at least once a week and Wales periodically. Comes with a fitted hardcase- American, by 'The Modern Case Company'. Can't say I've ever heard of them, but it's a fine case. In terms of cash. I'm happy to consider offers, but it is what it is and I'm not going to bend much on the price.

Modern compact cab recommendations or an old Trace Head
W1_Pro replied to The Twickerman's topic in Amps and Cabs
I've just got a TE Elf with one of the new 2x8 cabs. It's nuts. Keeps up with a drummer (in rehearsals anyway), and sounds lovely. The whole thing is about the size of two shoeboxes. I remember when something putting out 200 watts that would be loud enough to keep up with a drummer was essentially, a wardrobe. AND a two man lift. -

The picture that they have with the online ad is a US made device. So if they are advertising the amp as one thing and selling a device which is different, thats mis- selling surely?

Just bought a BBx one pedal off Vinny. Splendid chap. Deal with confidence.

Thats a lot of cash for a bass that Jaco may have played 'for sure'.

Bought a Megalith pedal from Andy. Same as above, really nice chap, easy to deal with. Recommended.

Rare vintage Overwater Artisan bass (1988) (SOLD!!!)
W1_Pro replied to Kees_SoS's topic in Basses For Sale
Interesting basses these. I have a very early one- 1980 according to the man- and the shape is actually quite different. The top bout on mine is much more pointy, this one is quite rounded. There is a routered rebate around the top of mine, which has disappeared here, the pickups have moved (on the earlier basses the neck pickup was further towards the erm...neck), they have changed make (from Bill Lawrence blades to the Kent Armstrongs on this one) and the early ones had a passive tone circuit, whereas this one is active. The bridge on mine is a schaller, same as this, so maybe the one with the Overwater branded bridge is a very late one? Or did they change, then change back for some obscure eighties supply related issue? Who knows..... Anyway, fascinating. You have a lovely looking bass there. Shame these don't attract the same cachet as Wal's, otherwise someone would probably have paid you £240,000,000 for it twelve seconds after you put the advert up. 😂 -

Terrifying. He has done a lovely job of screening the cavity though, fair play.😁

Finished Pics! Dreadnought acoustic (guitar) for me?

Just saw this. Looking really good Andy. Following with interest. ✌️ -
I did as it goes, and as others have noted on here previously, what a charming and helpful gent he is. I need a 5/16's spanner (same size as Gibson, apparently), and Chris was also able to give me a potted history of the bass, which is apparently a very early one which he dated at 1980 because of the rebate around the body, the Bill Lawrence pickups and the fact that it's passive. He also gave me some sage advice on adjusting the rod, which was very cool. I've included a pic of the bass below.
