1. Amusing read! Fingers crossed I'll have my Cluster Flux next week
2. Title and first posted edited to remove swear words. Please watch the language. From the posts above I gather that I'm too late to witness the original title (which is good as that would of earnt you a warning!). Hope the pot gets sorted. Other folks breaking your stuff is about as frustrating as it gets!
3.
Believe it or not, the Bass Murf is happy to run off a daisychain & has no noise at all! I was hugely surprised. It does need to draw 300mA though.
And reverse polarity!
4. There's lots of options, but a Johnny Shred freak/Diago should be fine for the size of your board. Although if you go for the Moog then you'll need to use it's own power supply or some special adapters...
5. So... You going to swallow that fact you need a big awesome pedal on your board?
6. At least the move and date change is official now. The price hike I assume is to pay for Marcus, but blimey that's a steep overnight leap!! Not convinced it's going to work too well at this nee venue unless they have a secret 2nd stge an venue room we don't know about...
7. Bargain. Want! Must resist. If I didnt have the new Cluster flux to pay for!
8.
But there's no ROOOOMMMMM Hmmmm, are you using a Murf instead of your Slicer now then? Si
Just sit I next to your board. It's non slip rubber on the bottom and robust enough! I'm not using a murf, but am using the LFO section of my MO-201 to drive my various pedals with slow sample + hold waves to create similar effects! I am planning to add a Midi Murf one day though. I'm a big fan of the Slicer though. I'm just determined to reduce my setup. Shep
9.
I feel you might be right Hmmm.... could I cut one in half? Si
Yes - but it wouldn't work, and if it did you'd of cut the tap tempo off! Man up and buy a Slicer or Murf!
10.
Shep, the Gyroscope seems to have a tap?! http://www.copilotfx.com/tapgyro.html Si
Ah... It seems there are 2 versions! I'd never seen the 2 footswitch version before. That version also has an extra knob on it. The version I've seen lots of demos of does not have the tap. Still not as useful as something that has clearly defined presets though...
11. I got my new bass and it came strung with Black Beauties. The B string had a strange sharp lump on it - like the coating had clumped and solidified. Emailed Anthony and he immediately offered to send a replacement string to me. Hopefully that's on the way. I'm told the supply issue in the UK is being resolved too as a new distributor has just been appointed (String & Things I believe). Maybe on going supply issues were with the distributor and not DR?
12. No messenger shooting dude, sorry if it read that way! I'll still go either way as I enjoy a day out playing bass. I'll just hang on for an initial announcement. My suggestion of thinking it may just be an after party was based on the 2009 event and that seemed to work well!
13. I know BassBunny heard this direct from Steve, but are we sure... The Bassday site still has the old date & the old venue listed. The RNCM are still listing the event on the site and selling tickets Band on the wall website does not have the event listed. Maybe the after party is there? Maybe Steve was just thinking out loud. Theres no published change of date yet, tickets are still be sold for the original date and at the original venue... As far as I'm concerned its Oct 16th at the RNCM and we're still waiting for the website to be updated with this years performers. In fact from googling it now it appears that the only reference to this event being on 06/11/11 this year is this very thread on Basschat!!! I personally think we shouldn't get too carried away with the idea yet. Or have I missed something more official?
14. Do the ABSynth next - I miss mine and its one of very few pedals I really regret selling... Maybe a video will persuade me to buy another.
15. Yeah I'm still giggling about it too! lol. Gigrig Generator FTW though! (just to 'try' and bring it back on track)
16.
Ahhhhh! That's gotta sound badass.
That it does!
17. This has been discussed a million times on Basschat. Here are a few recent discussions that may help - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=151316 & http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=144722 As for 'worth getting' - lIke everything it's down to personal taste and requirement
18. Amazing cab - This would would make a great addition to my 212 as well.... hmmmmmmm
19. I'd love you pit this against my DD-20. It would take a little time to integrate it, but I think this would win! I have serious GAS for this pedal.
20. Damn iPhone autocorrect!! Usually I'd edit it - but it's too funny to change
21. I power my supersynth, 5 pedals requiring isolated supples, one 18v and lots of reverse polarity all off a GigRig generator. It's a damn powerful beast! Some adapters to up power consumption are expensive but the system is great. I did have a small problem with my Super Synth, due to the draw, but Dan at GigRig, modded an adapter for me free of charge to get the pedal working fine. As I'm selling my SuperSynth, if you dingo down that route, I'll sell you my adapter for the MB. Shep
22. Not that are cheaper or smaller. Moog Murf and Adrenalinn are the main rivals, however they are the same size (or bigger) and cost a lot more! The only other one is the CoPilot Gyroscope, its cheaper and very small, but I'm told it totally kills low end tone and recalling settings is a nightmare and the knobs are very sensitive AND it has no tap tempo The Slicer is the best for size and price on an all round basis... And I'm selling mine - convenient! Shep
23.
Yeah really tempted by that, and the octabass
Octabass is great too. I used to use one a lot. It's my fav 'clean' octave pedal out. I prefer a synthy tone and so the Boss OC2 wins everytime, but if I wanted clean hi-fi sound, the EBS would be the one. EBS have obviously spent time tuning their pedals to one another as the Octave sounds fantastic with the Unichorus and the DPhaser run after it. EBS Multicomp SOLD MarkBass Super Synth SOLD EBS Unichorus SOLD Subdecay Echobox SOLD
24. No Worries. It's a great unit and does a Massive range of sounds for something so compact.
25.
What's the flanger effect like on the unichorus? Anything like the Small Stone phaser?
The flanger is very organic. I've not used a small stone - but by its name I would assume it was a Phaser as opposed to a Flanger? I use the chorus and flanger lots, but not so much of the pitch modulation mode. Its definitely still my fav chorus and flanger sound and I'm only selling as I own 2! Link to decent samples - http://www.bass.se/2009/unichorus.htm There is a trim inside to increase the intensity as well (I've never bothered though as I love the sound of the factory preset).
