1. The 101 is a dub bassists dream. Treated as an EQ pedal alone it allows you to get the huge thick dub tone without pushing your amp EQ to its limits. I use the 101 constantly in my music. When the pedal is bypassed the drive knob still effects your sound, so it effectively becomes part of your pre-amp anyway and adds a little analog goodness to it. Many tracks I use it on with an Octave pedal to fatten up sub. It has a whole host of functions without an expression pedal. Add the expression to start using the synth swells like you asked about in the 1st track, or in fact that you hear in millions of tracks, allowing you to push the sound from deep smooth sub, to high fizz and back (stopping anywhere along route). I got mine on eBay for £105 plus shipping, plus £20 on an EP-2 expression pedal. For what it can do though, I'd be happy to pay the retail price if mine packed in!
 2.
I think you're a lot more knowledgeable than you're giving yourself credit for. You have hands on experience with a lot of pedals & know what they're capable of.
Yeah I know... I just like to sound modest
 3. I want one soooooo bad. I also have GAS for a ZVEX Distortron...
 4. I'm only as knowledgable as many... But I like the ego boost! I'd say the answer has already been posted -
My LPF is a moog MF-101. It sounds like he's opening up the resonance as well as the cutoff both at once. If you're wanting to replicate that song you could stick the filter & a fuzz (& maybe even a slow phaser) on a loop such as an LS2. That way you're not trying to stand on several pedals at once to bring the effect in.
LPF, open up the cut off, high resonance = win!
 5.
Awwww yeah!
My thoughts exactly - In the UK and clearing customs
 6.
Awesome Whilst I'm posting...can I just confirm that the whole DubStep sound could effectively be summed up as Octave - Fuzz - Phaser - LPF? I know this thread covers it a lot, but I just wanted to confirm. Thanks Jam
Yes. Very loosely. Although 'modulation' in general as opposed to Phaser specifically (personally I put modulation after the LPF too ).
 7.
Oh yeah didnt think that through.
I'll give it a go... Not sure it'll be much fun though lol
 8. He taps his foot at the right time, by that coincidence. JC does lots of cool stuff with envelopes and wahs, but that's either mic feedback or Adam prepping his feedback for the squeaky solo that follows just after that section
 9. Met with Scott a few times regarding my Roscoe Century Fretless. I'm clearly not the only man that thought it was excellent as he bought it! Top bloke, great player and the deal went smoothly. Cheers Scott!
 10.
Ooo that's very cheeky isn't it! I can see these bad boys being a hit
It's effectively the expression section of the MP-201 (but with 3 rather than 4 connections). If you only intend to use it as an expression system, I'd say this is a far more cost effective way of doing it!!
 11.
Another thing i would want from it is to able to run multiple loops at the same time but they dont effect each other. So if im running loop one which has the moog in it and im modulating it, but have loop two just being effected by the original bass signal and running some extreme sub-bass underneath.
You can do that with a Boss LS-2.
 12.
Soon be needing to grow some extra legs! I've been thinking if it would be possible to make a custom control unit that I can integrate into a bass to give some more control & have some interesting ideas.
Not sure how you mean. Elaborate good sir....
 13.
That makes more sense given the company background. Seems like expression pedal control is pretty much a must with them by the sounds of it.
I'd say so. The Phaser is the only one I'm not currently using with expression. To be honest the LPF & the FreqBox could easily need 3 expression pedals each
 14. His playing is good, but his beard is immense!
 15. I've been spending a few days with my set up trying new stuff and have a rehearsal tomorrow in which I'm going to attempt to recreate all the tracks we do, using only a small range of my effects. I've had an idea to a base what I do more around the Mood modular synth idea and I think It may work, and reduce the amount of cabling etc I'm currently using. It will involve picking up the Cluster Flux when it comes out, but will also mean some of my other pedals will be up for sale... Tomorrows jam will be interesting Shep
 16. The Moog stuff is designed to be used as part of a modular synth setup, so in reality they are built with live knob fiddling etc in mind - Hardly a set up and stomp solution (although I do have a configuration on the 12-Stage phaser that I tend to stick to).
 17. Love this design! Its the 1st Singlecut from the RIM camp & it's going to be killer! I recognise that Myrtle top as well Can't wait to see how this turns out!
 18.
This thread is making my head hurt! Whatever happened to pedals where you set the knobs and stomped on?
They're sooooo 2010.....
