I do however accept there's an awful lot available in the Market place for people to choose from and 6 string fretless is a niche product. This really is a silly price for real professional Luthier built quality though. A stunning instrument.

    Had a couple of PM's yesterday - replied to all, but thought it was worth reiterating the answers here... Bass is located in Nottingham and ANYONE is more than welcome to come have a play (If you're thinking of buying or not - always happy to share a cuppa with a basschatter). This has been my main instrument for 18 months and has been used for gigging, recording & rehearsing. Anyone that knows me however will be aware that I am very precious of my gear and I've kept this in the same condition it was purchased in. It's cleaned after every show and is still lovely and shiny! Lastly, as I've done this for basschatters in the past with great success (looking at you dbass & Fryer), I happy to consider payment over 2 or 3 months if this helps people afford things (come try it, if you like it, give me a deposit and I'll pop her in a case never to be touched again until you pay for her). Much cheaper than buying on finance! Shep

    I'm tempted by the Thumpinator as well... But being that my aim is to generate loads of sub from my huge chain I worry that using it before the effects chain will be pointless given how much sub generating stuff comes after, and using it at the end of the chain will effect the sub tones I generate?     Quality control seems to the big difference. You seem to know what you're getting with the MIA's. With the MIM's you can find some that feel like Squires and others that feel like MIA's. Small things like the hardware arn't a nice, but I found that by trying enough MIM's out you can find a gem!

    For anyone interested in why the front light is blue here's the low down - The Fafner has a known issue with blowing it's little red lightbulbs. The panel that glows basically has the valve behind it, and behind that a glorified outdoor Christmas tree light. As light builds are fragile at the best of times there blow just from taking the amp to gigs and back. Many Fafner users have never had one pop, however most have been through plenty. Contact EBS and they'll own up to the problem and send you a pack of lightbulbs free of charge. I got through 4 in as many months and asked EBS about doing something about it. They mentioned that Bernie Goodfellow of GB Guitars had developed a work around as he was at the time, thier UK distributor. I spoke to Bernie and he mentioned they'd found a way to solder in a couple of bright LED's to the bulb fitting, effectively replacing the need to ever fit a bulb to it again. I took it to him and an hour later hey presto. I picked blue as it fits with the EBS colour scheme. Bernie is no longer the EBS distributor so I imagine he would either not do this anymore, or charge a fair whack to do it as they aren't 'his' business anymore. As such, there aren't many of these 'modded' ones around! BUMP!

    I can hear a lot of promise and ideas in what they do. The sound quality isn't great but it's made of elements of music I love... Definitely one I'd like to hear more of

    I'd hardly call myself a genius! I just stole lots of Pre-existing ideas & info! Oddly I don't use as much blending as I should and most of my signal is one pedal after another... I've started blending a little recently and part of me wants to do more... But my signal chain is a little to crazy to do it easily. I use an LS2 for what I do and it's works perfect. Tone is coloured 'slightly' by the Boss buffer, but in my set up that doesn't matter... As I don't use a clean tone at all! I've heard real good stuff about the Barge so that be my 1st port of call after the trusty LS-2
