1. Quick one for guys with more technical knowledge. I'm in a situation where it seems I will soon have a Euphonic Audio 550 Micro. The can I need it to work with is my EA Wizzy 10 which I used to use my MarkBass Littlemark 250. The Wizzy is 250w at 4ohms, the Micro is 550w at 4 ohm (oddly the lowest wattage amp they now make). Usually I would think this was destined to blow the speaker to bits... Bi it seems odd that the lowest powered amp they make is too hot for a cab that sell loads of!! So I asked the guys at EA. I was told it was pretty safe to use as long as the amp didn't peak... In fact I was told it would be safer than say, using a 300w amp as the 550w head would have more headro before peaking and only peaking over the cabs wattage would damage it. Is this all true? Does that mean a 1000w amp is safe to use with a 100w speaker as long as the amp doesn't peak!? Surely not Shep
2. Hi guys, I have been lucky to pick up a local hero endorsement from Roscoe basses, who's instruments I've been in love with since picking up my fretless Century some time ago. 90% off all music I play is on the fretless, even when I'd prefer to use a fretted bass... I just can't put the Roscoe down. This seems like just cause, and the right time to go for a Roscoe fretted bass. Most people know what these sound like, GB Pre amp is amazing, around average weight for a 6 and is truly a testament to Bernie's craftsmanship. It's been played by a few Basschatters, all of which will vouch for how amazing it is. This is purely to satisfy my lust to be a Roscoe player through and through but due to the attachment you get to custom basses, this may still get pulled. Spec... 6 String GB Spitfire Ash body Spalted Beech top with stunning 'autumn stain' Matching front AND back headstock facings Lightweight black and gold hardware (created from 2 full sets!) Flamed maple neck with stained maple strips Amazing Birdseye maple board 35"'scale, set up for 19mm spacing at bridge (adjustable from 16 − 21mm!!) GB Metronome & Tuner electronics GB Hardcase. Spotless condition. Born Jan 2011 Link to build diary - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=87929 I'm asking £2200. Strictly collection in Nottingham, NO shipping under any circumstance. Given money is not always easy to come by at the moment however, I am willing to take payment in instalments for example over a couple of months if this makes things easier for folks… Would also consider trades/part ex with Roscoe 6 stringers (maybe 4 and 5's). Not interested in other trades. Pics - Shep
3. SOLD Everyone knows what these are like... Awesome! Looking to free up some cash for my Roscoe fund and as I also own a HD350 and don't really need the massive power that the 650 has I'm offering this up for sale. It's a 650w powerhouse with true tube definition and that awesome EBS funky zing. It's in great condition, recently revalved (I do that every 6 months or so as I'm anal like that) and has never been abused. I'm asking a VERY reasonable £600 SOLD, collected from Nottingham. I'll include a 4U Gator rack case for it for an extra £20 if required. Please note this is strictly collection only and I'm not prepared to ship under any circumstance. It's too heavy and valuable to take the risk. Seen here in the rack case it's always been stored in... Please note the cab has already sold and the tuner is not available. Shep
4. Amazing! If you change your mind about trades let me know! If I win a few quid on the lottery this week I'll let ya know! Shep
5. All good Higgie. If the drum beat was a bit slower it'd be more dubstep… the beat is pretty close. I like the bass line, has a funk rock feel to it.
6.
At last, a Roscoe thread! I was looking for a bass to replace my Tobias Classic 5, which had been gigged constantly for 15 years, I'd heard of Roscoe, so I did a bit of reaearch and ended up buying one from Bass Direct (I was their first Roscoe customer). This pic was taken on the day I picked my bass up in Mark's home. These basses are purely hand-built in a small factory, without the price tag of a Fodera.
Don't look too happy about it will ya' Nice... I have serious GAS for another. My Bassline EUB has to go and I'm going to have to consider my bass position carefully. Thinking of going 'all Roscoe'.
7. Lovely! Not a 'massive' fan of the LG shape... It's a little odd, but yours is possibly the nicest I've seen. The SKB is killer! Love the Diamond boards too... Amazing.
8. Hey folks, I felt sure we had one of these, but it seems not (if we do and someone finds it. Let me know and I'll merge them!). I know there is quite a bit of love or Roscoe basses on Basschat so let's compile them here (even of you've shown them else where). By far my fav' luthier. Mine - Century Standard 6 Fretless Ash body, Maple neck, Diamond Wood board lined with aluminium. CB Bart pups and pre Hipshot hardware (and I've replaced the knobs with hipshot O-Rings) Who's next? Shep
9. Thread closed as Opening Post has been deleted. As Truckstop has stated, any further discussion should be had via PM. Shep
10.
is about to be replaced by.. More info coming soon as this is my new endorsement rig.
Dude, Drop me a PM when you've had a little time with this baby. I noticed the heads at BassDirect and have done some research into them... Am very interested. It's the 1st bass head that's made me even consider moving away from EBS gear...
11. Bargain price folks! Really is criminal what you can pick up a top-end Warwick for these days! Someone snap this up.
12. Everytime you bump this I have to look again...! Don't suppose you fancy an EUB and have another similar priced bass to chuck in as well!? ... Thought not
13. Amazing bass for the money… and I can vouch for Delano SoapBars… I have them installed on my RIM Marseer and I love the dark growl they give! Wish I had a suitable trade dude. Someone needs to buy this now!
14. I actually like the Warwick. A little different, but not in an awful Adam Clayton custom way. Kinda a Warwick/Fender Hybrid. I do prefer his Fender, but if I'm honest I prefer his old Aria Signature models even more - http://www.thebassgallery.com/product_deta...e=Bass%20Guitar
15. THIS HAS NOW SOLD Hi folks, I had serious EUB GAS and after much searching picked this up as the nicest EUB I'd tried. After some time of solid playing upright, the GAS has not only passed but I find I don't enjoy the experience as much as I thought I would and if anything it's made me try harder on my other bass skill set. It's a Bassline Universal 5. The current (or most recent) spec of this from Bassline is a longer scale and has a piezo pickup along with a slightly different body shape. Mine is an early production model and was designed as a hybrid electric fretless/EUB. It's a shorter scale - 34", and has 2 magnetic passive pups. It has sunken strap lock points (set of locks included) so it can be worn as a regular fretless bass (and my god it's a head turner if you do!!!) but also had a great adjustable stand and an end pin for EUB duties. Great condition with only a few marks, solid maple body and ebony fretboard. Restrung 3 weeks ago with LaBella Deep Talkin' Flats. It has amazing tone and is cabale of both punchy fretless sounds and smooth upright tone based on how you use the pups and your playing style. AMAZING neck contour! Flamed Ash body/neck & Ebony board. Pics - The current spec one is listed on Basslines website at €3050 (ouch!). Anyone interested should contact Bass Direct where the bass now resides and is listed at £1300. Shep
16. Moogerfooger 12 stage phaser (on 12 stage mode) with some valve dirt before it. Moog phaser is f'ing amazing after a fuzz...
17. As mentioned above. This forum is for discussion on Bass Guitars. Your other thread can be located in the Bass Guitars for sale forum. Please add to/bump/edit that thread as needed. I have closed this one. Please don't post a 3rd thread regarding this bass.
18. Awesome… watching this one closely!
19. Aggggh. Love this bass! Where do you keep finding these beauties!!
20. I really like this. They are great basses anyway, but this is yummy. Shep
21.
Starting to think I may just keep the Stealth - alternatively may start to consider interesting trades?
What you after trade wise?
