1. Great stuff dude. Real nice breakbeat/jazz fusion kinda vibe. Lovely tone and disgusting technique
2. Well after a few weeks of studio time I've managed to figure out which bits and bobs work and don't work for m on the board and I've also acquired a few bits and bobs and changed the way in which I use a few of the pedals as well. I also have just received my Gigrig Modular Power system. It is an expensive approach compared to many power systems, buy not compared to buying 3 Flatliners etc to run the board off. The powering system will run my entire board, with mixed polarities, voltages from 9-24 including the AC powered Whammy IV and all of 1 mains plug! Again, expensive, but worth it I feel given I currently use 8 mains plugs. The only thing that won't be powered by the Gigrig will be my Moog MP-201. The 'final' (how many times have i said that?) has 15 pedals on it. I removed the LS-2 and dual channel set up for now as it adds a huge amount of cabling for something I don't really utilise. The signal chain and set u looks something like this… BASS —> Digitech Whammy IV —> Boss OC-2 —> Moogerfooger MF-107 FreqBox —> (Dirt Section) Subdecay Noisebox —> Tech 21 Red Ripper —> Myrtle Effects Corvid Fuzz —> (Filter Section) MarkBass Super Synth —> 3Leaf Audio Groove Regulator —> Moogerfooger MF-101 Low Pass Filter —> EHX Bass MicroSynth (Original) —> EBS Unichorus —> (Modulation Section) Moogerfooger MF-103 12-Stage Phaser —> Moogerfooger MF-102 Ring Modulator —> Boss DD-20 Giga Delay —> Boss SL-20 Slicer —> AMP Pics up soon followed by a review of the Gigrig Modular Power System. 3. I don't have my supplies etc here at home but I'm pretty sure most 9v pedals can take up to 12v (although not all sound like they like it). I'm sure there was a thread some time ago where someone pushed a Boss ODB-3 over 12v and basically destroyed it... Shep
4. ALL SORTED Hey, I have a perfect condition, fully boxed MarkBass Little Mark 250. Great little amp that weighs nothing. I run it with an EA Wizzy 10 and it all fits in a backpack and is the perfect small gig set up. The MarkBass 250 has clarity and punch and I know there are many MarkBass fans around bass chat. For mean, the choice of this amp was weight. However, last night I used a friends Iamp Micro 300, which whilst I have heard many mixed reviews about them... And they generally seem to be far less popular that the MarkBass head, it just did it for me. So I'd be interested to trade my MarkBass for your EA. I would consider other Iamp heads, but it's only being fed into a single Wizzy 10 so I would be unlikely to look at anything much more powerful due to the cabs power handling (250w). Shep
5. Take a trip down to Nottingham... See my MP-201 feeding Triangle waves into the LPF Cutoff and SawTooth into the Resonance and money will mean nothing in comparison to owning one
6. Not just you... Me too. It's being looked at Shep
7. LFO = Low Frequency Oscillator. In simple terms - Something that makes a specific waveform pattern (such a a Triangle Wave as a Tremolo). Modulation type effects, are in their simplest terms LFO's... But also certain equipment can generate LFO's to drive other pedals. More info on Dan's blog - http://mrdfowens.tumblr.com/post/147917138...-bass-guitarist Shep
8. All good there man. Get a Tremolo after that or an LFO on the Cutoff of the LPF and that's dubstep heaven. Shep
9. Another easy transaction with Si. Traded a pedal with him. Even let me test it out at a few rehearsals before committing to the the trade. Top man. Cheers Shep
10. Andy bought my Diago Powerstation. Easy transaction. Top bloke. Cheers Shep
11. Bought my Guyatone Phase Shifter. Easy transaction and great communication. All very happy! Cheers Shep
12.
I will be speaking to Bernie later this year about a Spitfire in blue, like the other Sheps 5 string from a while back :-) Tony
Ah that was a stunner…
13.
Oi mods why the shift to this deserted wasteland where no one will see it? I'm not reporting a problem. I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this phenomena. Cheers BE. I can't see any common denominators with mine, it all seems quite random.
Just PM'd you bud… Just making sure it gets looked at ASAP and not lost amongst the 900,000 posts that will appear in Off Topic today. Shep
14. Grabbed yet more George L's... Easy transaction just like last time! Cheers bud. Shep
15. Have recently added the Ripper to my Drum & Bass setup (pedal number 17, thank Si!)... It's pretty fantastic. The EQ is awesome... More low end than you know what to do with, plus the Low Pass Filter switch makes it perfect for what I do. The 'RIP' setting is quite uniquely voiced as well, quite different to other synthy fuzzes I've tried. It also acts like it's gated. It isn't gated, but there's no background noise at all when you mute the strings... Which I pretty fantastic. Very very good pedal. Even without ever touching the RIP control it's one of the best Overdrives I've ever played with.
16. Colin bought my Boss NS-2. Easy peasu transaction. All fine and dandy. Cheers boss! Shep
17. Final mix and mastering is set for the 19th. It was unfortunately put back due to me starting a new job. I have the line mixes... But don't want to ruin the final product by playing you guys the unfinished version. All 3 tracks on the EP use the Octave down sound of the OC2... It's definitely the best synthy/unnatural Octave. I have a octave section on my MarkBass SuperSynth which doesn't really get used much, and on my Whammy, which I use for octave up. OC2 all the way for me!
18. Bought my 4th Moogerfooger from Tuco. Great comms and very informative about the pedals functions as well. Posted promptly. Very very happy. Cheers bud! Shep
19. SOLD PENDING PAYMENT Selling my Diago Powerstation. Sure you all know what this is. Single best daisy chain based power supply on the Market. Can handle a huge draw from pedals. I've had about 11 running off a fee daisy chains including some high draw stuff (Boss DD20) with no worries. Unit stays cool, has zero hum and is very compact. Still boxed as well! Link to the product in question - http://www.effectpowersupplies.com/diago-p...tion-1026-p.asp In fantastic condition. Asking £45 posted. Please note I'll not be able to post this until next week when my new powering system is up and running. Shep
20. SOLD PENDING PAYMENT Hi folks, I have a Chaos Engine from Nicks World of Synth. He's basically a mad professor who makes amazing analog synths. This particular one he made a few of and I picked one up. It's compact, light (about the same size as a Little Mark head) well Build in sold metals and capable of crazy sounds. It does everything from Moog like bass synth to beeps and whistles... Real crazy fun. I have too much going off with pedals etc at the mo so trying to remove hand controlled stuff from my set up. Runs off a regular 9v power supply and can be daisy chained with yer' pedals. I paid £79.99, asking £55 posted Special Delivery Here is a link to what it looks like and some sound samples direct from the builder - http://nicksworldofsynthesizers.com/chaosengine.php Shep
