1. SOLD Hi folks, Up for grabs is one of the most amazing sounding cabs about. Only selling as I've gone Neo only ur to weight of gear being in a 2-piece band. Everyone knows what these are like.... Stunning. Cabs in fantastic condition with no marks etc. Plastic corners have a few scuffs. I'm asking a VERY reasonable £350 collected from Nottingham. I will not ship/courier under any circumstances due to having 2 cabs damaged by couriers in 12 months. Anyone that wants to try it is more than welcome. TD650 not currently for sale. Shep
2. My EBS rig from a recent Dubstep gig I played
3. If you used it in a band mix you'd notice a loss of low end with some effects. I use some 'non-bass' effect as they sound awesome, but only for recording or with an EQ pedal. Bass specific effect tend to respond to the low end better and retain it more. Distortion and fuzzes are the main ones. Lots of modulation effects are pretty universal...
4. If you have some direct signal in there was no loss. I was just getting a drop of a few db's when running the setting I use - 2 Oct off, dry off, 1 Oct at 100%. the small gain boost has also given a bit more umph to the bottom end. All in all I'm very happy with the mod
5.
Yes 63 is correct.... I must have the same version as you then as mine has the Octave as well (which is absolutely rubbish). I like the sounds it produces but it's a lot of money for a pedal thats just ok in my opinion. The software to adjust the sounds is very glitchy too. Having trouble reading and writing to the pedal
Yeah I'd agree about the Octave section (that always jumps in volume even when the synth section id balanced) - I wish I'd known about the newer 3 dial version without as that looks as though you can scroll up and down through the patches rather than just up. Not had any issues with the software, however I hears its VERY funny about peoples computers, even if you blow the required spec out of the water it just decides if it likes the machine or not. Thankfully it likes my mac!
6.
The one thing thats' really bugging me with the MB unit is that when switching between the effect and true bypass.... the bass in true bypass is slightly louder than with the effect setting and no matter how I adjust the balance level on the effect channel to give more bass and less effect, it's still the same... annoying the hell out of me.
That is quite odd… Mine was the other way around (effect was way to loud!). I have the effect itself pre-programmed to run at max volume (63?) and leave the dial on the far right at max (to avoid any confusion on where it should be if you tweak it). Then just adjust the gain accordingly. I have just had a look around the net though and it seems the system has changed! I found this for sale - http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/...Synth-Pedal/AXU which is totally different to mine and appears to have the octave section removed but the bonus that you can scroll up or down through the patches. mine however is like this - http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...ass_Pedals.html Which version do you have?
7.
Trouble is even having done that.... it's not a patch on the Akai SB-1..... now how do I raise the money to buy another one of those....
I prefer it to the SB-1 (used to love mine). I spent an entire day in front of the computer about 6 months back am basically managed to reproduce all but 2 sounds I love on the SB-1 in the MarkBass. Yeah there were 2 I couldn't get close to, but a million extra donut was a fair trade. Having just finished a studio session as well, the MarkBass really came into it's own. Crystal clear sounds. I can understand the love of the SB-1 though. Regardless of what it does or doesn't do, it just has a... 'damn that's cool' thing going for it!
8. So not only have I proven that once again I'm right... But also that I have the smallest hands of all. Oh
9. To the OP, I'm not exactly sure what your asking or mean by 'Basschat Cover', but if you're asking if you are protected in someway by the website (in the same way paypal has 'fraud protection' an eBay has a 'dispute resolution centre') then the simple answer is no. This is a discussion forum, with the added extra of having an area to buy, sell and trade. The management don't offer any protection and all transactions are at your own risk. We try to educate people not to take risks... I the deal is 'too good to be true' then it most likely is. See ped's post above for all the guidelines. I live by the rule that new newbies need to build up some dialogue with the forum community before I trade with them. New members that join, never post and try to arrange sales by PM etc should be treated with care. Many will be genuine people not use to using forums for discussion, but also it's a fair reason to be suspicious. I would say given the details you've provided, and the fact you seem suspicious anyway asking for help and advice, if you havn't done the deal yet... Walk away. Shep
10. How do you get tickets to London for £13.50. I'm in Nottingham and it was £134 return to Brighton on the train when I wanted to make the journey a month ago!
11. Mine are tiny then. 6.9". I play and own only 6 stringers with 19mm string spacing. I therefore conclude that hand technique and working on your 'limits' means any neck shape or size is fine!
12. I'm not a fan of the Octave part of the MarkBass, but the synth section is stunning once you scrap the factory presets and program your own!
13.
Well I suppose it would be easier to house train that way!
Deal! I'll post it tomorrow. Lol. Best of luck with the sale bud!!
14.
Not unless you have a Cocker Spaniel puppy to trade!
Er... No I have an Xbox 360... I could cover it in carpet and paint a face on it. Close enough?
15. Moved... Ta da! Interested in trades on the M13?
16. Picked up this cool little recorder not long back but have since sorted out recording software on my mac and so have pretty much little to no use for it so looking to sell it on. It's a Boss micro BR, all boxed in great condition and is boxed with instructions & the standard SD card it came with new (128mb pre loaded with a demo track). Info about it plus a detailed review here - http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/feb07/arti...bossmicrobr.htm I also have a Mini external Stereo mic (massively improves live recording, Eg. in the rehearsal room) and the boss leather slip case for this. The recorder retails around £165, the mic an extortionate £60 and the case another £30. I'll accept £85 posted, which in fairness is an uber bargain (I've seen the recorder alone go for more!). Would also trade for one of the following... Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+ (or similar with ISOLATED supplies) Part ex towards... M9 M13 Moogerfooger Freqbox Moogerfooger 12 Stage Phaser PM me for a quicker reply. Shep
17. My Yammy was an early 2000's, prob 2003ish, its was 17.5mm according to my callipers at the time, which was identical to my 5 string Warwick thumb. Both were the same scale length as well. My TRB went to J.R.Bass who i think ebay'd it away from Basschat. It was just too tight for me and I couldn't get used to 34" again. I strictly play 35" scale, 18.5-19mm spacing, bolt-on necks. All 3 of my instruments have that same spec and transition between them is easy... For me of course Edit - And here it is - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=838054
18. Someone should snap this up. Best album they did IMO. Saw them live in Tokyo (won tickets on a radio competition.... One hell of a prize!) and they opened with 'Hey Johnny Park'... Reminded me of how amazing this album really is. Shep
19.
Hi Shep, scale lenghth 35" string spacing 17mm hope that helps Raj
Thanks Raj, Too tight on the spacing for me, but a big BUMP for one of the most stunning basses I've seen on Basschat!
20. My TRB 1006 (which I believe are now out of production) was a 34". I assume therefore they moved to 35" scale with the current range due to that being the trend with basses having a low B.
21. Love this bass!! What's the scale length and string spacing please? Shep
22. I used to own a Status Shark 5... Red, White scratch plate, single chrome humbucker... Loved it. Super slim neck much like my Roscoe. Sold it back in the day when I thought my Warwick would be all the bass I ever needed. It wasn't £300 is a great price depending on condition. Saw a few go last year on eBay from £220ish for fogged and beaten to £400 for mint and shiny. Shep
23. Also worth checking out the Schecter Stiletto diamon series stuff. The build quality is absolutely top notch and string spacing too tight for me (So prob perfect for you). It's one of those basses that proves the brand adds lots of value. If you didn't know who made it, they could easily pass for £1.5k instruments http://www.guitarandampshop.co.uk/acatalog...ass_Guitar.html I've seen a few come up 2nd hand and usually around £300ish. Worth checking eBay etc Shep
24. Can you edit your topic title (i've added 'TO GO' for you) as this forum is for recycling unwanted items… your title implies that you are selling, if thats the case I think eBay would be the best bet for your star… I hear they are selling like hot cakes. Something like 'Star… free to a good home' would be far more suitable here Shep
