I was under the impression that you could set up each outputs function, range (start/end point) and on/off status, then save them to a bank/patch, so for example, if you have 3 pedals connected, you can set them up as you will use them in a track, 1 song per patch, and just switch to the next patch to recall the settings? Internal programmability... Like the MP-201.

Yeah. The Reflex can be configured to control CV so you can connect it up no worries. You could send LFO to one input and expression to the other etc. I can't vouch for its programmability, but functionality seems excellent. I've only had a quick play, but I'll be picking one up myself very soon.

Moog Cluster Flux ( I've added a video!)
pantherairsoft replied to 0175westwood29's topic in Effects
yeh its great, going nowhere! although im interested in trying the minifooger chorus and flanger, as they should be in theory the same! Andy
I image they will be very different. The CF is based on a Bucket Brigade delay chip. One which is in short supply, and very expensive (as chips go). I believe the mini ones are somewhat more 'traditional' and less mental. -
The Expressionator was decent at covering some core MP-201 duties. But the Reflex is definitely the best option for expression and LFO capability. If you want the envelope/gate/noise processing functions then you need to go for the original, or some fancy Euro Rack stuff.

Moog Cluster Flux ( I've added a video!)
pantherairsoft replied to 0175westwood29's topic in Effects
Jeez. I'm getting blamed for everything!!!! Seriously though, the Cluster Flux is legendary. Easily the greatest sounding chorus I've had my hands on, and one of the best flangers. The scope of other worldly noises you can get from it is mind blowing. It does very convincing whale noises, and some epic 'time slowing down pitch dive bombs'. Damn it's a great pedal. Truly epic. My fav fooger after the LPF. -
Octave pedal with (very) active basses - recommendations?
pantherairsoft replied to cetera's topic in Effects
I've never had any issues with tracking or distortion even with 18v pre basses and the OC2, but if you are having issues... Not much sounds like the Oc2. The 3leaf and both COG offerings (T16 and T65) are the closest to my ear. I've not tried the 3leaf, but the COG stuff loves active basses. The MXR is also good, but is a very different voiced pedal. It's grittier, and well suited to naturally distorted tones. It's not smooth and synthy like the OC2, so you may not dig it's sound. -
I'm using one at the mo. Pretty much as above... Delay and Reverb are too class. Modulation is Ok, though very subtle on bass. Compression is decent enough. Drive section is pretty decent. For the cost it's an excellent unit.
Cheers matey, that was my feeling but good to hear it too. Way worth a bit of noise. .. How's the xeno?
Xero. Why does everyone call it the Xeno? Did I miss something? Ha. It's cool, flavoured totally differently to the Moog. If you like big synthy warmth then the Moog is your winner.
I took the wooden panels off the sides, covered the inside with sticky backed copper foil (putting enough on to go around the lip) & then put them back on. Cut a lot of the noise down by doing so too.
I did this with a couple of my foogers, but I have to say, I found absolutely no change at all with regards to general noise.

I would say that your suggested signal route is the most sensible start point, but it is important to try everything in every order. You may mind you unlock interesting sounds that work better for you if you reverse the Pitchfactor and Nova. It's important to go with what sounds best for you, and not everyone else.

3Leaf appear to have released new Drive pedals under Pike Amplification name
pantherairsoft replied to Kev's topic in Effects
Personally I'm excited to try them. The Darkglass stuff never really worked for me, so I'm keen to see if he's taken the ideas in a direction that better suits me. I think 3leaf stuff is great. The Groove Regulator was me of my favourite filters ever. I've no issue with the business practices here. It may have been nice for him to give Doug a heads up in advance, but then if they had a business falling out, communication is likely low on their radars. I say good luck to Spencer. I'm sure the pedals will rock. -
Totally normal. The hiss is always there. If you have the drive cranked it gets louder. The high pitched noise is common with this style of analogue gear. I experienced it with the FreqBox as well. Basically the pedal is revealing the noise floor... I found that this changed with power location, so go power up in a different house/building and you won't hear. Do it somewhere else and it will sound louder. More noticeable if you have other pedals in the chain as well. It's all character

Met Kev today. Did a bass for amp/cab trade. The deal was flawless, communication top notch, he's an awesome dude, and..... He didn't even mind having Almond milk in his tea (he may have even liked it!). What more could I ask for! Enjoy the bass buddy.

TRADED: Prometeus Concertogrosso 30" Scale.
Thanks Shep... obviously a man of taste. I think the CSE basses were a limited run commissioned by Doctor Bass (Spain) - link below - who seem to sell a lot of Marleaux instruments. But only available with the chrome hardware. I'd probably include both sets with the bass if somebody was keen; but they've been on BC for a while now so might re-hash the listing(s) individually :- http://www.doctorbass.net/en/buscador/?cadena1=marleaux&submit=
Very cool. I've been a fan of their basses since I tried one a couple of years ago. Marleaux is high on my list of bass to upgrade too when the Prometeus sells. Thanks for that link too! Not much info out there about the CSE's, but when mentioned there doesn't seem to be a bad word about them!

NOW TRADED Up for grabs is my Prometeus Concertogrosso. This only came to me recently, after nearly 3 months of trying my best to get my hands on it. I'm in a state of bass flux at the moment since selling my Roscoe, and floating from instrument to instrument. I had a great feeling about this one, and whilst it ticks many of the boxes for me - it's very small, very light and extremely well balanced - it's neck profile is not to my preference (I like very slim and flat... Something that not many basses do), and so I'm going to move it on to continue my quest! This was the prototype for the Concertogrosso model line. Like all Prometeus basses, it was hand built in Italy. It's been well played, but is in good cosmetic condition with just light marks throughout (a few on the back which are almost invisible thanks to the grain, and some marks where the picking finger has been rested etc). Here is the spec... Prometeus Concertogrosso Prototype 30" Scale Flamed Ash body Flamed Ash neck (set neck) Padouk fretboard Wenge Top Volume & Passive Tone Custom Alnico5 Pickup - 8 coils (2 per string) all wired in series, for high output. It's a passive bass with the output of an active bass! 2-way truss rod Warwick hardware. The Concertogrosso line is well suited for higher turnings and Piccolo setups etc, but is happy to be tuned E-G (it currently is) so long as the strings are not too heavy. Access to the upper register is excellent and the bass plays fast. Tonally speaking the passive tone control really shifts between two core tones, both are very usable, one with a touch of sparkle - this bass has a MEAN slap tone - and one slightly warmed and more 'old school'. It has enough versatility to sit in most live band mixes. The bass fits happily in a regular guitar case, and a good quality leather case is included. I am asking [s]£480 collected[/s] NOW TRADED!! I will ship overseas at your cost. TRADES: I may be interested in trades so long as the bass does not say Fender on it, or resemble a J or P! Try me. I may also be interested in trading up towards something worth more, and adding cash into the deal (particularly if it's 32-33" scale or slim necked - but I'll consider anything) up to about £1000 in value. Get in touch!!! Will also consider trades/part-ex for synths, particularly a Moog SubPhatty. And trades towards pedals and effects. Pics...
