1. NOW TRADED!!! Up for grabs... TC Nova System Limited. This is the red version that comes with a number of additional patches and presets (all originals are also there, stuff added nothing removed). TC make the best delays in the world IMO and this is no exception. The reverb, and the analogue drive section is also great on the bass. Brilliant one-stop shop for a pedalboard. The unit has some cosmetic marks and a few dents to the metal casing at the edge, but is in full working order, along with instruction manual. I do not have the original box, but will box it securely. I'm located in Derby should anyone want to try it out/collect. I am asking £150 posted in the UK. Only trades I'll consider are for synths. NOW TRADED!!!
2. SOLD Up for grabs is an excellent condition awesome little mini-rig. Markbass Little Mark 250, this is the version 2 Italian made one, not the newer black label version, in excellent condition, complete with a power lead. I understand these Italian made ones are no longer made and have been replaced by the black fronted ones which are made elsewhere. Super small, super light, super awesome sounding! Asking £230 posted in the UK. NOW SOLD Also, [s]Markbass 102p Traveler (2x10 with adjustable tweeter), a rarer 4ohm version in excellent condition. This is an Italian made, yellow cone cab. [/s]SOLD!!! I am located in Derby (DE23, close to the city) should you prefer to collect. Anyone wanting to try before you buy are welcome to do so, but will need to bring a cab to try it though. Only trades considered will be for synths. Happy to take payment in instalments. I've done this on a number of basschat sales, and it's always worked out great for both parties. Pics...
3. Very very awesome.
4. IMO the ZVEX Mastotron is the way to go. It dials in an almost identical sound to the Mammoth, that 'gate open' tone sounds better than the mammoth, and it has impedance control so it works just as well with active basses (an important feature IME as the mammoth plus active bass = horrid).
5. Covers his modulation and reverb mainly. He rarely uses delay / not a fan by his own admission. I'm sure it gets uses for the odd synth sound, and basically anything else his core pedal range doesn't provide. He seems to use it as a textual tool.
6. What's the weight on this? Also, definitely a 52mm nut? I have 5ers with that nut width, so just checking. Cheers!
7. To get on iTunes you need to go through an aggregator or a label (mist of which go through an aggregator). Same is true of Spotify, Deezer, Amazon and a pile of others. Sound cloud is perfect for demos. Bandcamp is my platform of choice. Love it. And you make more being in control. When it comes to selling, iTunes equals pennies in your pocket, and Bandcamp equals pounds!
8. If you let that WMD go, I'll take it back
9. WMD Geiger Counter. Amazeballs.
10. The Moog is the only commercial one, other then the Dreadbox offering, but there is little report as to how that performs as yet. The Moog IS NOT expensive. I'd expect it to be cheaper than any custom offering. I had a custom Xero and it will set you back much more than a stock one obviously. Tom at COG will likely be able to cook up a killer custom LPF, but again, if you think the Moog is expensive, you may be put off. As for true bypass... So? Why do you need it? The Moog has an always active drive section so couldn't be true bypass. It's designed to always add that analogue warmth and grit to your tone. I love the moog, it's immense. Adding TB would ruin it!
11. That's as programmable as the MP-201 (ish) and enough for me. The MP did not have an external editor either, it just allowed backup of data to a PC. All good by my book. I'm not sure the reflex goes deep enough to warrant editor software. If it had more than expression and LFO (and Midi CC) then maybe, but in the grand scale, it's functionality is probably not vast enough to need the software side.
12. I was under the impression that you could set up each outputs function, range (start/end point) and on/off status, then save them to a bank/patch, so for example, if you have 3 pedals connected, you can set them up as you will use them in a track, 1 song per patch, and just switch to the next patch to recall the settings? Internal programmability... Like the MP-201.
13. Yeah. The Reflex can be configured to control CV so you can connect it up no worries. You could send LFO to one input and expression to the other etc. I can't vouch for its programmability, but functionality seems excellent. I've only had a quick play, but I'll be picking one up myself very soon.
14.
yeh its great, going nowhere! although im interested in trying the minifooger chorus and flanger, as they should be in theory the same! Andy
I image they will be very different. The CF is based on a Bucket Brigade delay chip. One which is in short supply, and very expensive (as chips go). I believe the mini ones are somewhat more 'traditional' and less mental.
15. The Expressionator was decent at covering some core MP-201 duties. But the Reflex is definitely the best option for expression and LFO capability. If you want the envelope/gate/noise processing functions then you need to go for the original, or some fancy Euro Rack stuff.
16. Jeez. I'm getting blamed for everything!!!! Seriously though, the Cluster Flux is legendary. Easily the greatest sounding chorus I've had my hands on, and one of the best flangers. The scope of other worldly noises you can get from it is mind blowing. It does very convincing whale noises, and some epic 'time slowing down pitch dive bombs'. Damn it's a great pedal. Truly epic. My fav fooger after the LPF.
17. I've never had any issues with tracking or distortion even with 18v pre basses and the OC2, but if you are having issues... Not much sounds like the Oc2. The 3leaf and both COG offerings (T16 and T65) are the closest to my ear. I've not tried the 3leaf, but the COG stuff loves active basses. The MXR is also good, but is a very different voiced pedal. It's grittier, and well suited to naturally distorted tones. It's not smooth and synthy like the OC2, so you may not dig it's sound.
18. Very very nice!
19. I'm using one at the mo. Pretty much as above... Delay and Reverb are too class. Modulation is Ok, though very subtle on bass. Compression is decent enough. Drive section is pretty decent. For the cost it's an excellent unit.
20.
Cheers matey, that was my feeling but good to hear it too. Way worth a bit of noise. .. How's the xeno?
Xero. Why does everyone call it the Xeno? Did I miss something? Ha. It's cool, flavoured totally differently to the Moog. If you like big synthy warmth then the Moog is your winner.
I took the wooden panels off the sides, covered the inside with sticky backed copper foil (putting enough on to go around the lip) & then put them back on. Cut a lot of the noise down by doing so too.
I did this with a couple of my foogers, but I have to say, I found absolutely no change at all with regards to general noise.
21. I would say that your suggested signal route is the most sensible start point, but it is important to try everything in every order. You may mind you unlock interesting sounds that work better for you if you reverse the Pitchfactor and Nova. It's important to go with what sounds best for you, and not everyone else.
22. Personally I'm excited to try them. The Darkglass stuff never really worked for me, so I'm keen to see if he's taken the ideas in a direction that better suits me. I think 3leaf stuff is great. The Groove Regulator was me of my favourite filters ever. I've no issue with the business practices here. It may have been nice for him to give Doug a heads up in advance, but then if they had a business falling out, communication is likely low on their radars. I say good luck to Spencer. I'm sure the pedals will rock.
23. Totally normal. The hiss is always there. If you have the drive cranked it gets louder. The high pitched noise is common with this style of analogue gear. I experienced it with the FreqBox as well. Basically the pedal is revealing the noise floor... I found that this changed with power location, so go power up in a different house/building and you won't hear. Do it somewhere else and it will sound louder. More noticeable if you have other pedals in the chain as well. It's all character
24. Listing says LS-2, but the photo is a PS-2. Which is actually for sale? Cheers.
25. It's all shades of mine
