Got as call from Bernie just now (I suggested he stopped working and went to enjoy NYE!) and he sent me a few pics over. He's been working hard on the bass... And it's basically done! Electrics need fitting and the final setup needs doing after a couple of parts are polished out. Behold... All I can say is... Oh my god it's gorgeous... Shep

Moved this to gear porn as it's not technically a build diary. Nice set up though. Love the shape of those Yamaha's Shep

Welcome to Basschat. This certainly shouldn't be in our feedback section, so I've moved it to bass guitar discussion where will most likely get an answer to your question. It's a Cort (obviously) but I can't make out what it sad on the headstock next to it? Clearly Cort's take on the Precision. Price-wise I would like to guess and many here are more educated, but I'd say $70 was a damn good buy Please note if you do advertise this to sell on BassChat (as you mention it being time to move on), please do not do it on this thread. You will need to list the bass on the For Sale section. Shep
Shep, that is some board, insane man, the moog hook up looks cool, spent some time checking it all out last night, but too extreme for me Tony
It's pretty barmy but sounds amazing. The Moog section is basically a modular synth itself. The LPF gets lots of use but the FreqBox is barmy... Very strange beast. I use the MP201 to drive the FreqBox with LFO's and other craziness. Coop fun Shep

Everyone starts somewhere... No apology needed. We do need you to state an asking price however of you want to list the bass as we aren't a sale or auction site, more a discussion forum and information resource with a sale forum as an added extra. Unfortunately being worth 5000-20000 isn't precise enough. Could you pop an asking price in your opening post (the edit button is in the bottom corner of the post so you can add to/amend it) please. It's also worth bearing in mind that I'd expect to sell your bass for less here than it would sell for on eBay, there tends to be a community spirt where by most of us sell basses and amps at a fair price given there's no fees etc for the seller (if eBay would nick £100 off the sale then sell to a basschatter for £100 less). That's not a 'rule', but it's the way most of us fly Get us some pics posted up.... We want to see!!

Hi Harvey, welcome to BassChat. I have moved this thread to the correct part of the forum. Please read our Guidlines, T's & C's to avoid having people moan at you. As per the rules, and as already stated, you need to state a sale price if you are advertising on BassChat or risk having your post removed. I'd suggest posting some pictures as well so we can see it's real. I'm particularly interested in seeing some pics as I've wanted a CT as long as I can remember! Cheers Shep

2 212 cabs instead of a 410 and 115
pantherairsoft replied to Steve Spector's topic in Amps and Cabs
If you want a big rig for the sake of it 2 cabs are better than an 8x10 IMO just for he fact you can take one cab if you want. If you going ebs i'd get the head and a single 4ohm cab like the 212 and see how you find the volume. You can add another 4ohm then as the head will run down to 2ohm. I ran a 212 and 115 NEO for ages into 2ohm but sold the 115 as it seemed pointless running the amp on a quarter volume against a loud metal band. Dropping the 2nd cab and running 4 ohms still gives me more volume than I've ever dreamt of! -
Neo cabinets are lighter in terms of wood used... The Proline Cabinets are heavier duty. The Neo speakers are lighter and so save even more weight. Neo speakers also have a higher power handling. Tonally there is little in it. I find the Neo to be very slightly (only a little) lacking in low mids compared to the Proline but that's easily EQ' back in if you miss it. The Prolines seem to have a heavier bottom end, in fact I often take a little bass off the Prolines (again only a tiny amount), but I suspect that's due to the heavier solid cabinet rather than the speakers. I prefer the Neo mainly due to the weight... But am more than happy using Prolines as they sound huge.
Can I ask you why you got rid of your Fafner and got the TD650? Steve
Course! I also have a HD350. Which I prefer the flat sound of when you compare it to the Fafner. The Fafner is awesome, but I prefer a funky boingy tone, even when playing heavy stuff. The HD350 lacked the power though. The TD650 sounds more like the HD350 but with all the added power. One thing that brings the Fafner into it's own is the amazing drive channel... Which I never used. It just so happened that another basschatter had a TD650 and wasn't keen on the funky tone and was using the drive loads. Basically it made sense to swap them round so he had the warmer drive channel and I had the HD350 tone with more power. We could always swap back if they didn't work out for us. Thankfully it worked out great. To be fair the Fafner & the TD650 have much in common and with EQ tweaking we both coup of achieved the results we wanted. It just happened I found someone that wanted a Fafner while I fancied trying the TD. If I hadn't of found such a person I'd of kept the Fafner and it still would of been the best amp I'd ever owned. 2 212 cabs instead of a 410 and 115
pantherairsoft replied to Steve Spector's topic in Amps and Cabs
The Proline is not in my possession yet... It's on the way. I only need 1 can as it's more than loud enough! I bought the Proline as I got it at a bargain price and can't afford another Neo yet. I can't see why anyone would need more than 1 EBS Neoline 212. The cab can take more than a Fafner II can throw at it. Unless your playing stadiums or the O2 Arena you only need 1 4ohm cab. When I have the money I'll sell the incoming Proline and get another Neo because it's lighter... -

I use 212's. I find they do the job of evening the sound better than other cabs. What I have found though is that one good one (like an EBS Neoline that can take 600w) I generally enough and I can't imagine needing to use 2 cabs. My EBS Neo 212 does the job perfect! Shep -
Yup, that is what it sounds like when you twist the string as you install it.
I'm intrigued by this concept as I've never heard of it an hav always wrapped the string around the peg a few times to get it started. Never experience the issue describe here and I've of thought it was a nut issue, but if I do in the future are people basically saying to use just the machine head to coil the string rather than starting by hand and letting th machine head finish the job? Shep

Top man. Cheers. Definitely seems worth the extra. Given the relatively small price gap I imagine the NXT sells a fair amount more than the WAV. £200 for an end pin! Ouch.

Very tempted by one of these... Did it come with the tripod as standard? What's the difference between the NXT & the WAV models (other than about £100). Shep

Post your pedal board - Basschat style!!
hahah thats a board! nice! my board is quickly going this way! my guitarist is scared! lol andy
Thankfully I don't have a guitarist to scare -
You get what you pay for. If your thinking around the price of the Digitech, then honestly that I the best at that price point. Spend a little more and you can get a Boss SYB or EHX MicroSynth. The EHX has the better sound, but can only be set up for one sound at a time... The Boss will let you have a few presets, but non of which are amazing. For a Single pedal solution the Markbass is by far the best but you need to spend time with it hooked up to a computer to get the best out of the sounds (although the presets are still better than the other pedals listed). There's loads of info here - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=72012 plus if you use the search function in the effects forum for 'synth' you'll find loads more. Obviously the most versatile way to do it is analog with multiple pedals... But it gets expensive... Like this - DanOwens blog is worth reading as well - http://mrdfowens.tumblr.com/ Shep

I know it's a bit far away, but is anyone coming from near/around Nottingham (or passing through Notts on the way down) that fancies picking me up. I'd happily pay half the petrol both ways... Shep

Fuzz Guitar boutique in Nottingham stock MTD. They don't have access to the Tobias stuff though.

Just googles Travis Bean. It was a Travis Bean.
