1. A new EP, from a new project, and one where I actually play the bass again, rather then pushing buttons and programming crazy noises!!

It's been a while since I played 'bass' that sounded like a bass, but the song writing of the talented Tim Myers persuaded me to get stuck into it again. Detuned, grinding bass tone (with the odd light flurry of effects... it is me after all!), pitched against some dark, brooding and claustrophobic soundscapes.

It's been fun being a part of this. I Hope at least one of you dig it.

rāˈkĭs is for fans of - A Perfect Circle, Sunna, Karnivool, The Smashing Pumpkins, 30 Seconds To Mars.

2. No. There are a couple of bands we agree on, generally in the chill out/electronica realm (Lamb, Submotion Orchestra, Boards of Canada, Baths) but outside that, nope. She really can't stand the music I make... but is supportive all the same.

My Ex-wife was into all the same stuff as me... and look where that got us!

3. If you want half decent, all in one, then the Line 6 M13 is about as good as it gets from an all in one.

I've tried the G-System on bass, and it's good. The effects are impressive, as you'd expect from TC. In terms of 'audio quality', I'd put it way up high, especially if you can snag one of the iB Modified versions (that buffer just sings on bass)... But the M13 has more versatility than any other multi out there IMO. It's not the greatest sounding, but 99% of your audience won't know the difference. It's patch saving is great, and it'll allow multiple patches at your feet without problem, and up to 4 effects at once in any order.

You could go Axe FX II if you want seriously impressive, or even run Guitar Rig from a MacBook/Laptop... But for the money, and what it sounds like your needs are... Go M13

Hey folks,

I'm doing some contract work for a company, who happen to have a few musical items in the office. They are things they bought from customers long ago and basically want shot of. I figured I'd post them here before I tell them to eBay them.

This is a Yamaha PSR-36 Synth, in good working order as far as I can tell. I do not have the capacity here to test the MIDI or audio out, but have no reason to think it isn't fine. The built in speakers work, and I've been through a number of sound patches and the synth is very cool. Real 80's retro vibe. It seems quite highly regarded on vintagesynth.com which is always a good sign. Includes a power supply. It has some cosmetic marks and scratches, but for a synth of this age, overall it's in good condition.

I've suggest they sell this at £30 shipped in the UK to get rid.

PM me with any questions,

This is a Stagg Stratocaster Copy in a dark sun-burst (I think that's what you'd call it?). It's in fairly poor cosmetic condition having clearly been a players instrument, but the neck and fingerboard are still in great condition. I've tried to show as many of the chips and scratches as I can. It includes the basic red strap shown in the pics, but does not have a case (though it will be packaged well!).

These seem to sell on eBay for between £30 and £60, so I've suggested they ask £30 including shipping in the UK, which for a reasonable starter guitar is a total bargain.

It's a left handed Tanglewood Acoustic Guitar - Model TSF CE N LH which I believe is a one of the 'Super Folk' range. This is well used and not in great cosmetic condition, most noticeably as someone has glued (!?) some strange gem stones to the front and back of the head stock. Looks like amber. I assume there is some new-age hippy significance. The guitar seems to play fine and has no 'issues' other than the cosmetic ones noted in the photos. Fitted with a Fishman pre-amp.

These seem to be quite popular, and retail for around £150-180 for a new one. Given it's condition, I've suggested they sell it for £40 posted in the UK to get shot.

7. SOLD PENDING PAYMENT

Hey folks,

I'm doing some contract work for a company, who happen to have this bass in the office. It was something they bought from a customer long ago and basically want shot of it. I figured I'd post it here before I tell them to eBay it.

It's a LH Warwick Rockbass Corvette 5 in gloss black. It seems to be fully functional with no real issues other than cosmetic ones. You'll see from the pictures that it is marked and scratched throughout with some serious buckle rash and a few other dents, though the front of the bass is in good condition, as is the neck and fretboard.

The only 'issue' to note is that one of the pickup screws (pictures on the bridge pup) is loose and will not tighten up. The pickup is at an acceptable height at the mo, but the bass needs a set up unless you like your action high (it's way too high for my style, but then I'm a string tickler!), so if you lower the action you may need to look at the screw thread etc. I can't imagine this being a huge deal breaker or a hard fix, but thought it should be mentioned.

They can ship this to you in the UK for free, so I've suggested they ask £125 posted to get shot of it.

It does not have a case, but I'll make sure they package it well.

PM me if you have any questions,

Shep

8. SOLD

Up for grabs is my Roland GR-55.

Incredible bass synth which is literally a lifetime of sounds.

This is excellent condition with just a few very light cosmetic marks. Boxed, with all manuals etc.
Also included is the very over-priced (£30 plus if I recall) Roland MIDI cable required to connect your GK pickup to the unit.

No pickup included.

Asking [s]£310[/s] SOLD posted in the UK. Collection from Derby is also fine (and I'll knock a tenner off the price).

Will consider part-ex with a decent looper pedal with cash my way, and possibly interested in other pedals + cash trades. Try me.

9. Had a friend over last night who is an insane fretless player. Watched him play the Zon for an hour. Wow. He called it the nicest fretless he'd ever played. I woke up this morning excited to play and thought I was going to keep it, but after some jamming this morning, it's obvious it's just not me, and needs to be in the hands of someone it suits.

I am however, quite motivated to get playing, so throw some interesting trade offers at me!!

If someone wants to buy me a new Ibanez Fanned Fret SRFF806 I might even consider it!

Shep.

10. Rim Marseer is probably the shortest (end of neck - end of body wise) I've played, but is very wide. So depends on what part of 'small' you're looking for.

As above, Roscoe LG is very petite. Some of the old Steinberger stuff. Zeta Crossover. Status Streamline.

There's loads of little uns' out there.
