1. That looks like a lot of bass for the money! What's the string spacing? What kind of marks are we talking in terms of it being played in? Shep
2.
It's a monster - it's one of the best sounding GBs I've heard. I was talking with Bernie - just goes to show that the none fancy woods can often sound better... the ones that seem to stand out always seem to be the solid colour ones! Having said that, I was around when Bernie strung up your 6 - he passed it me to see what I thought of it. The fundamental notes are very strong and the notes sustain for ages... it's looking good!
So I hear. Bernie speaks highly of it, as have a few people that have seen it over the last week. Looking forwards to getting hands on. As for flat colour basses. My 5 in Daphne Blue was amazing sounding as well! Maybe it's that paint!
3. Yeah, but proportioned perfectly. If you never saw it like that you'd never know. It doesn't feel small... It feels right. Great bit of engineering.
4. Not usually an LED kinda' guy, but I love the Daphne Blue one with blue LED's! Sweet.
5. Promenade is a great store and the guys there are very helpful. If they it at the same price on the Promenade site then I'd buy direct.
6.
http://www.music4worship.co.uk - also seem to be trading as: http://www.bigdiscountwarehouse.co.uk i'm after one of the Ashdown Classic 210 cabs and on the above sites they're a good coupla hundred quid cheaper than anywhere else on the net - i dunno... maybe its me being paranoid but if somethings seems too good to be true....... any experiences shopping with them? peace c
All the Bass Stock is from Promenade Music. I assume thats the 'alliance with a large stockist' they mention on the homepage.
7.
I saw this bass in the flesh when I went around to Robbie's the other day. I have to say it looks great, the neck and fretboard are particulalry stunning. I also feel that the pics are a little misleading, as they don't show just how neat and compact the body shape really is. You're going to be a very lucky man.
I completely agree. When you see it in the flesh it's very different. The Marseer body is very small and compact, bought into balance by the long top horn. I love how compact it is, it just has large 'hips'. The body, in context reminds me of the Cort Curbow, whereby on its own it looks regular sized, but next to another bass it seems far smaller. I'll see if Robbie can send me a pic of the body next to a regular J-Bass body for comparison…. As if by magic…!
8. I know this is a real old thread now... But as it seemed to of just 'died out'. IF this is still available then colour me interested (I have PM'd you!). If it sold and the new owner isn't getting on with it, drop me a PM. Shep
9. THIS IS NOW SOLD! For sale is my EBS Session 60 combo. Cool little tilt-back style bit of kit. Not the traditional super high zingy EBS sound, but certainly reminiscent of it (more like a scaled down EBS Classic 450 tone). Amazing sounding for such a tiny combo. Its a 60w 1x10 with a tweeter, 2 band EQ, Mid scoop, XLR out, Aux in and headphone in as well. Very loud for 60w and stunning tone. IMHO the best practice/small acoustic gig amp on the market for what it costs. Rated 5/5 by Bass Guitar Magazine and its easy to see why! I have had this about 6 months, its been to one open mic gig and just stayed at home since. its as good a condition as any you'd find on display in a shop, comes with with the mains lead as you'd expect. I'm asking £200 collected from Nottingham as its pretty damn new, and thats a saving of £50 over a new one (Bassdirect have them at the mo at £250, and thats on special offer!) for the privilege of having it sat in my apartment for a few months. Because this is small and square, regardless of how well I pack it there is a risk that if a courier chucks it about it will die. As such I really want this collected. I will send this insured via courier at your cost, BUT once it leaves my hands I take no responsibility for what Fedex do with it! Not looking for trades (Unless its a part ex towards an EBS Neo 112 or a nice GB Spitfire bass). And to give you and idea of how small these things are... Shep
10. The best spamming yet! I'll buy 3!
11. What's this like with the slap tone? Nice and sharp? I only really play 6er's now but fancy a 4 string formulating around with my slap technique. I don want to buy something cheap and uncomfortable though... So before I find a Warwick Thunb I thought I'd look this up!
12. Awesome... I was confused at first... Trying to figure out of you were Adam Clayton or Stuart Zender... But I got there in the end Well done dude, something to be uber proud of!
13. I dropped them an email. Says the current one does not fit many bass necks, just the slim guitar neck profile, however they say it 'may' fit certain 4 stringers. As for making others for other basses, eg. 5 or 6 strings... They say they would love to, but not until they have established a business with the guitar version, which could obviously take some time!
14. Lovely Limba matching control cavity cover gets the oil treatment...
15. I quite like the idea for busy gigs. Keep the bass attached to a heavy bass rig. Sure it can be defeated but its a goo d deterrent for the opportunist thief in a venue. Shame it doesn't fit a bass… let a lone my 6 string neck!
16. Looks fantastic! Now I want a white bass
17.
Yes it did, traded with him about 6 months ago and he only lives round the corner .
Yup. Awesome bass. We had a discussion not long back about how much he missed it as well given the quality. Top bloke it Jazz and knows his basses. Bump for an awesome bit of kit!
18. Did this used to belong to Dunetune_Jazz? If so i have played it and £800 is a bloody bargain. Serious boutique quality sound and feel.
19.
I'm amazed you fit all that lot in there and had any room for punters! Seriously!
Ha. Yeah bud, it was manic! Never seen the place so busy either. There were people standing outside in the doorway as you couldn't get in. I had about 6" of foot room to move about in. Silly night. Lol
20.
I'll definitely not be there then, hope you guys have a good time anyway.
You don't know the 20th may not prove to have much commitment yet... Tait - can you also add the proposed fate above the list on post one for reference?
21. TRB1006. Amazing bass. Feels like it's worth 2k. Buy one!
