1. If you consider the Roscoe Century Standard I have at the mo, and the cost of the RIM Marseer & GB Spitfire Basses which are being built and nearing completion at the mo the figure is horrific. 3 instruments and I could of bough a really good car… And thats before you even touch amps and cabs… If I was to add others I've owned over the last 2 years… Overwater Evolution, Warwick Thumb, Godlyke Disciple, KSD Proto-J, Yamaha TRB… I need to go have a sit down! :-(
2. 3 of the most beautiful basses (My Roscoe's pretty nice as well) :-) hehe. Yeah dude, it looks lovely. Bernie was really against the Spalted to start with and even last week as concerned that I would need it stained and coloured etc. When he called me today he was like, "well, actually, its bloody lovely". Spalted = Win I'm really happy with this now. Truss Rod going in today. Things are moving pretty quick!
3. Had a good chat with Bernie today and a few pics of an update! Things have moved along well, the neck is blocked and I have to say it is a stunning beast! He has mounted and applied some white spirit to the top to give the impression of what it will look like lacquered. Before doing this Bernie was a little concerned that the bass was not going to be 'pretty' enough, however after applying the spirit he seems to of changed his mind! We are going to apply a very very fine shading around the edges to blend the top in, but overall I think the top looks great! Neck & Fretboard Body Shep
4.
Yep, you get a whole page to yourself.
Crikey! I was expecting the text I sent to be edited down to about 50 words in the corner of a page!
Ahh, is that you in that messy room with the cables running behind the radiator?
Yeah… but the radiators broken so it's fine! The room is a drum teachers studio. There are 3 kits set up and another 3 on the shelves. The room is bloody tiny! Thankfully we are just a 2 piece though so can get away with rehearsing in it! Hopefully I can hunt a copy of the Mag down this week!
5. Anyone got the brand new one in the last day or so? Mark @ BassDirect, Robbie @ RIM and Bernie @ GB have all told me the review of the TC BG500 amp I won is n there and I went to my usual place to buy a copy to be told they aren't stocking it anymore! Nottingham seems to be BGM void :-(
6.
Bump
ODB-3 & £15. You did say anything. Shep
7.

You rock! Seriously appreciate it! Shep
8. Cheers Russ, I just downloaded the trail version but it won't let you import files unless you buy a full copy… Not keen to part with €60 for one track Anyone here already have guitar pro and want to do me a huge favour!? :-)
9.
Finished.. I've made a quick rush through it.. What a wicked bassline! If's anyone's after dipping into varies styles, it's a must to learn - a nice example of pure Pop/RnB stuff.. transcription..:
A friend of mine's band do a great cover of it… Have a listen - http://www.myspace.com/otherleft I'm working on 'Come See About Me' by the Supremes, but given the quality of recording its proving harder than expected!
10. Hi People, Can anyone help with the tab for this track. It's not very often I learn other peoples material, and when I do it's not often I ask for help… It sounds fairly simple, but the old mix on the track makes it hard to pick out. If anyone can help it would be hugely appreciated! Shep
11. This one came from Jake-Tenfloors, although I'm not sure he had it from new, so it may of been yours once! Quick price drop to £525 for sale, Inc a hardcase. I can also courier this to you anywhere in the UK for £10, or collection in Nottingham.
12.
PM'd!
PedalTrain sold to the man above!
13. Aghhh... I miss this. Still the nicest Thumb BO I've ever seen. Amazing cut of wood. Shame you didn't find the time to keep her. I'm only playing 6'ers these days and I'm still interested again known how amazing she is! Shep
14. Only saw this just now! I live across the bloody road as well!!! Dammit
15. I had one for a while. Great tone, very compact and still sounds great when your running it at max (doesn't get grainy or distorted at all). It just did not have the volume I needed. If you have a loud drummer or guitarist you may struggle volume wise, although at the right levels you'll 'cut through' fine. Fantastic amp for the money though!
16. Gorgeous bass... Jaw dropingly good... I can feel my Credit Card begging to be linked to my paypal account
17. It's original line up.. But from what I can tell is that it's more of a best of album, with a few new tracks on it, much like Skunk Anansie did with Smashes & Trashes... I guess as a prelude to a full new album. I suppose that means they are all still doing other things and their main bands but have SoundGarden looming in the background.
18. Bump. Particuarly interested in a decent volume pedal (Ernie ball Jnr etc) in trade...
19. New SoundGarden Album, Telephantasm, due out Sept 28th. Awesome news! Listen to the new single (Black Rain) here - http://www.soundgardenworld.com/news/2010-...tm_medium=email Its a redone version of a song that never made it onto BadMotorFinger… and my god you can tell! It's awesome! Excited. Shep

I am truly shocked. This thread ha just been bought to my attention as I have been away on my honeymoon... What news to get back to! While I only spoke online with Si on a few occasions I did spend some time with him at BassDirect a few months back at the W&T mini bash. He was a great, funny and friendly guy. It's been said a million times already, but he will be missed by this community and sure many many other people besides. Shep
21. Apologies for late replies... I have had a number of PM's regarding the bass over the last week but have been away on my honeymoon! All PM's replied to now! Big fat KSD shaped bump.
22. The amp runs 500w at 4ohms. 2x 8ohm cabs make a 4ohm draw and the load is split between the 2. The split won't always be 50/50 but close enough. The combination you have listed will give them the full 500w that the amp can give and neither of the cabs will take more than 250-300w meaning they have loads of headroom as well. You sir are correct! Its worth noting though that what he is using would prob be enough unless they play huge venues, by just balancing the bands volumes better and learning how to make the most out of your tone. Even positioning of the cab can male a huge difference.
23. My Drum & Bass project has a running 'Blue Neon' theme to the general imagery of our stuff... So this is perfect. A very thoughtful gift!
