Hey guys.... Big Saturday for ND&GC today. Not in terms of sales (it was dead!), but in my 4 hours there I met another 3 basschatters! Cheers for Dread Bass for dropping in (See you at Waterfront next sat) and to the chap with the lovely Jap Fender Jazz (good luck with the pickups), plus the chap that came and bough the Ibby ATK from me... Apologies for not getting your user names to the latter two. It's also worth announcing that after some discussion, today will of been my last Saturday at the Drum Centre. I get married in 2 weeks time, work 6 days a week and am playing in 3 bands. Something has to give, and the Saturday's tinkering with toys is taking the chop. I'll still be affiliated with the Drum Centre through my other job and will keep up to date with bits on bobs. Anyone that used me for set ups I'll still happily offer that service, just message me here instead... I think iv done 7 basschatters basses to date with no complaints. Big thanks for everyone over the last year for popping in and saying hello and spending a few quid. Make sure you still give Ed and the boys some business now I've gone! Shep

Cheers for the kind words. I'm excited about the Bolt-on as well. To be honestI don't like Thru Necks. I only own Bolt-ons now.I don't know what it is, they just seem to feel better and sound nicer… maybe I'm just fooling myself. Either way I love bolt-ons.

Hi guys there was a bass I saw some time back on the forum but can't find the thread it was in. I can't recall the bassists name, or the band he was in, but my god to I recall the bass… It was back-to-front, with a huge body the shape of a head-stock and the actual head of the bass shaped like a tiny bass body. It was some custom build for him… If someone can find the thread for me, or know who I'm talking about so I can find a pic of said bass then I can rest easy and the thread can be closed :-) Cheers! My AB-Synth by Fuzzhugger is the most brutal crazy sounding fuzz I have ever heard and it loves Active Basses. It is very sensitive to the input volume and I find if you roll the volume off on the bass by about 20% it is the biggest Fuzz around!

Oddly my Neo cabs (EBS) are a little mid-shy, and to get any honky-ness I have to EQ mid into them! The total opposite of your soundchap's takes on Neo speakers! Maybe my ears are shot as well. From whats been said it kinda sounds like he's an old-schooler who knows, loves and trusts the big fat warm old speaker sound… most modern stuff sounds sooooooo different to the old Peavy, Trace, Orange tone that most engineers face day to day and become familiar. I've had a few engineers tell me how 'odd' the EBS Fafner sounds… which is crazy, as its clearly the most amazing amp ever made ;-) Its just 'unfamiliar to them'. If he hears too much mid. turn the mid down! Don't change your rig!

Bear in mind not everyone has a full band. If it was you and an acoustic guitar, no srums… would you really want a large loud amp… or something small. Different music, different venues, different sound men! Also bear in mind that Wattage doesn't always relate side by side with different amps. If you play through a 150W EBS Drome combo, you will find that it is actually LOUDER (and cleaner at loud volumes) than many 300W amps… Its down to the technology used. The different being that the Drome is £800 odd for 150W combo! Shep
