1. Thats the one! Cheers guys! Mods feel free to close...
2. Hi guys there was a bass I saw some time back on the forum but can't find the thread it was in. I can't recall the bassists name, or the band he was in, but my god to I recall the bass… It was back-to-front, with a huge body the shape of a head-stock and the actual head of the bass shaped like a tiny bass body. It was some custom build for him… If someone can find the thread for me, or know who I'm talking about so I can find a pic of said bass then I can rest easy and the thread can be closed :-) Cheers! Shep
3. Thats almost a Les Claypool tone right there! Lovely bass.
4. Bumping this as available again for trade only. This was bought to keep me going while my GB and RIM basses are finished. Yamaha was a safe bet as I know and trust the sound... Time to try something else. I'll consider a punt on most stuff. For the mo 5 strings or more, but might consider 4's like warwicks, luthiers or a vintage Jazz I have a little GAS for a Thumb as I sold my BO5 and really regret it. May put money towards something nice! Try me Shep
5.
Blue backlit power section on the right = cool as fk.
You know it. Red... Pah! Shep
6. Aghhh GAS. Someone give me £400 for my TRB1006 and I'll take this today!
7.
The [sfx] micro-Fuzz works fine with active or passive basses. I think the MXR El Grande or the MXR Blowtorch are also ok with active basses.
Agreed on the Blowtorch... And Max's Red Dragon am Micro Fuzz are fantastic!
8. My AB-Synth by Fuzzhugger is the most brutal crazy sounding fuzz I have ever heard and it loves Active Basses. It is very sensitive to the input volume and I find if you roll the volume off on the bass by about 20% it is the biggest Fuzz around!
9. Oddly my Neo cabs (EBS) are a little mid-shy, and to get any honky-ness I have to EQ mid into them! The total opposite of your soundchap's takes on Neo speakers! Maybe my ears are shot as well. From whats been said it kinda sounds like he's an old-schooler who knows, loves and trusts the big fat warm old speaker sound… most modern stuff sounds sooooooo different to the old Peavy, Trace, Orange tone that most engineers face day to day and become familiar. I've had a few engineers tell me how 'odd' the EBS Fafner sounds… which is crazy, as its clearly the most amazing amp ever made ;-) Its just 'unfamiliar to them'. If he hears too much mid. turn the mid down! Don't change your rig!
10. Yeah Max has a few tricks up his sleeve! :-)
11. Bear in mind not everyone has a full band. If it was you and an acoustic guitar, no srums… would you really want a large loud amp… or something small. Different music, different venues, different sound men! Also bear in mind that Wattage doesn't always relate side by side with different amps. If you play through a 150W EBS Drome combo, you will find that it is actually LOUDER (and cleaner at loud volumes) than many 300W amps… Its down to the technology used. The different being that the Drome is £800 odd for 150W combo! Shep
12. Is the Dry Ride and AAX, HH... Etc? Pics of the cymbals would be appreciated Shep
13. What's the string spacing and weight on this please? Regards Shep
14.
few weeks probably
If ya' need a co-pilot on the way down let me know
15. Awesome news... If he's stuck into it then fingers crossed it won't be long! When are you going down next?

18.
Err...now with far better images (still not great i'm afraid!) A lovely bass for noodling moments - a nice slim neck and easy to get around on
Lovely. One of the nicest Overwaters ever.
19.
Yeah I have a special tech that looks after all that stuff for me. They're worth their weight in gold...
Mind you that hat is damn special as well!
20.
Taken last night. new band to me (only 6th gig) and a chance to don my newly aquired hat. Rther a sweaty gig but people were coming up and saying how much they'd enjoyed it afterwards so must be getting a few things right...
Nice bass that! Bet it plays nice ;-)
21.
Hot Damn this is coming on fast
Agreed! Compared to my experience in custom builds to date, this is what you call speedy service!
22. Best cab I have ever owned! I may try and shift my Neo 115 and take this... A pair run with my Fafner must come close to DOOM!
23. Some more fresh pics from Robbie... Neck pocket routed and ready to go...
24. Trade for a Yammy TRB1006? I know... If you don't play one yammy, you won't play they other... But it can't hurt to ask! Shep
25.
Really liking that Bugcrusher! Instant GAS! Just checked out the site and apparently no longer in production. B*llocks
Hexe still make the bitcrusher III for €199, which I hear is just as good! Shep
