1. Thanks to Mark for opening his doors to us today, being a wealth of information, being truley passionate about his basses and for putting on the munchies for us! Thanks to mcgraham for the lift! Nice to meet everyone else that came, and was greatto see a few more W&T's in the flesh... But I have to say... I'll stick with my GB and Roscoe Untill the next mini-bash
2.
You'll regret it!
Maybe... Maybe not...
3. I have had a revelation... Madness maybe... My entire pedal board for a decent/top specish 6 string bass...? Any takers?
4. An extremely tight snug fit around the neck and pickup, sonmuch so that once it's in place it would happily stay... But for extra security, some decnet double sided sticky tape :-) ... And some fairy dust.
5. I'll bring my GB Spitfire 5 & my Roscoe Fretless 6 (which came from Bass Direct, so it's kinda going home :-))
6.
I'm going to Oxford on Sunday so I'm going to sneak away for a bit and pop along, all being well (well, my mother being well, as she's playing the invalid at the moment)
Awesome… Not about your mother of course!
7. I hope more people turn up… As I am not a W&T owner I was looking forward to trying loads of them out… And I've already played yours Mark...
8.
You bringing the board on Sunday Shep?
I wasn't planning on it… but can do if you like?
9.
I was thinking the double sided tape they use to hold pickguards onto acoustic guitars as it's quite thin or maybe a bit of spray adhesive like 3M77. On the Jazz style there is nothing mounted to the PG so you wouldn't need much strength. Much tougher on a P Bass. I was thinking of a mint color. Combined with the lack of poles from the Barts the screwless PG would give it a nice clean vintage/tech look.
A bit like my GB Spitfire you mean… Held on by Bernie's magic powers…
10. The new pedal board all up and running… Bass - > SFX custom Interface Box -> TC Elec Polytune -> EB HighGain Volume Pedal -> Loop Pedal (with all of the following in it's loop) -> MammothSounds Audio custom Mid-Booster -> MXR Blowtorch -> Tech 21 XXL Bass Edition -> EBS Octabass -> EMMA DiscumBOBulater (with custom SFX switch) -> MammothSounds Audio Chimaera Feedback Loop (with the follwing two pedals in it's loop) -> EBS Unichorus -> Boss DD-20 Giga Delay -> (back to Chimaera) -> (back to Loop Pedal) -> (back to Interface Box) -> Amp Have my GB back from Bernie as well and my Spitfire 6 is underway!
11. Right everything came today and I had chance to play around with the signal chain and put it all together... It's a thing of beauty! Signal chain as follws… Bass - > SFX custom Interface Box -> TC Elec Polytune -> EB HighGain Volume Pedal -> Loop Pedal (with all of the following in it's loop) -> MammothSounds Audio custom Mid-Booster -> MXR Blowtorch -> Tech 21 XXL Bass Edition -> EBS Octabass -> EMMA DiscumBOBulater (with custom SFX switch) -> MammothSounds Audio Chimaera Feedback Loop (with the follwing two pedals in it's loop) -> EBS Unichorus -> Boss DD-20 Giga Delay -> (back to Chimaera) -> (back to Loop Pedal) -> (back to Interface Box) -> Amp I'll put a lick of paint on the feedback looper and the mid booster tomorrow if I get chance. Shep
12. Umph built me a couple of custom pedals. Great work, well built exactly to spec and well priced. Very happy!
13. Bought a rack tuner from Ray recently. No hassle transaction, perfect coms, sent tracking number for package as soon as it was sent and it arrived safe and sound. Top bloke!
14. Someone please buy this Amazing beast. Seeing it everyday is killing me!
15.
Thanks very much for the above guys, seems pretty unanimous, so guess what I've suggested our guit*rist does.......? Cheers Chris
Use an accoustic guitar?
16. Wades still there I think, works in the design studio with a load of my best friends. Games development I think...? Anyway back on topic!!! I have 2 other unpainted pedals due this week which I shall also do a simple paint job on for fun... Then the board is jam packed! Sweeeeet It may not look like it from the pics for the word 'Looper' has 4 shades of red through to yellow, layered to look cool... But the pics from my Iphone so it looks popp :-)
17. I didn't work in retail for them, but if your talking about Nikos that worked in the Warhammer World shop then yes, I knew him!
18. No worries mate, pop it in the post. I used to work at Games Workshop headoffice and used I to be involved in painting pretty little toy soldiers... Was nice to find a use for all my old paints and brushes :-)
19. Still waiting on the new bits turning up... But I got bored and had hal an hour spare earlier so I broke out the paint brushes... It's not great but looks cool from eye level to pedal board level and is a little more interesting than a plain pedal!
20. Bought my DD3. Great comms. No hassle at all!
21. Bought my Boss TU-2. Easy transaction, paid promptly, great comms. Would deal with again without hesitation! Shep
22.
Just listened to ya stuff. v good. good to hear an english band who aren't emo, trad or indie. particularly like fal from grace. production good on that one too
Thanks very much mate. Really appreciate the feedback!
Bought a Boss TU-2 from shep, good guy to deal with, good communications, good price and swift delivery.
Cheers bud Other feedback left for me by Bassnut 62 (Left on the comments section of my profile page…) after 2 transactions with the fine fellow… "straight up, reliable and easy guy to deal with. Fast delivery of goods, which were exactly as described. Thanks Bassnut62" AND "I bought a pedaltrain2 from Shep as well now. I can now confirm he is definitely a straight up, reliable and easy guy to do some business with. Thanks."
23.
sounds cool. do you have a link? clips? cheers
No It hasn't arrived yet! I was doing the same thing with an EQ pedal with only the 400Hz boosted, which seemed a waste of an EQ pedal and took up too much space. So Umph has made me the 1 band boost so the EQ pedal can be kept for other uses. The sound is quite fantastic when run with the XXL... Gives it more substance. When I put the board together I will attempt to record som clips for you...
24.
do you have any details about the mammoth mid booster?
Hey, Yes, it's a mini/Catalinbread sized pedal with a footswitch and a single knob. The pedal goes from 0db to 15db boost at 400Hz So with the knob turned fully anti clockwise there is no effect, increasing as the knob is turned clockwise. It sits before the dirt pedals in chain and it will be used as a 'dirt driver'... Effectively turning 2 dirt pedals into 4. Whacking 10db of mid before the BT or XXL adds an additional layer of aggression, so I can use either pedal, or either pedal + Mid Boost. Shep
