1.
If any one is interested its myspace/bandofgold08
I hear a touch of Mr Bungle! Class :-)
2. I love this… so much… damn you… I'll swap you for an Xbox 360, A packet of Hobnobs & £50. Before you answer though, please bear in mind the current high street value of a good packet of Hobnobs
3.
Unfortunately, I'm not in a band. So that's as far as I go here.
Good start
4. Hi Guys and Gals, Not sure we have one of these, although we probably do as its an obvious thing to do. If there is a similar thread somewhere then would a mod please close this to avoid duplication. If not… here's the rules… The idea is to get a little coverage for what you do amongst out great community. I've had the pleasure of seeing a few BassChatters play live and have discovered some cool bands by doing so. There must be millions more out there and I for one want to hear them!!! Some forum members do stuff that is fairly well known, but that doesn't mean they should not make an entry on the thread. 1. Introduce the band/project/group etc. your currently playing with/working on. What they're called, style of music, brief summary. Include influences f that helps. 2. Link to a website/myspace/facebook… if possible, one that has some audio so we can hear what you do! 3. Don't use this to advertise gigs as there is a forum for this already!!! In an attempt to keep it all clean and easy to follow, just post the details of your band once (Don't update your website next week and then post again). Obviously feel free to comment on peoples bands etc. A little good press on the thread will only make more members interested! —————————— I'll go first…. I'm fairly new to the band given a recent 'restructure'. The band is called Aphemia, consists of 5 members (Vocal/Guitar, Guitar, Drums, Synth, Bass) and we all reside around the Derby/Nottingham area, rehearsing in Derby. I would describe the music as Industrial/Synth driven Hard Rock. I guess it pays reference to lots of artists, but the thing that enticed me to join them was the fact that I didn't find it sounded too much like any one particular act. For anyone that thinks it might be their cup of tea, here's the Myspace - Aphemia Hope you all like it! Right, who's next…?
5. Hi people, I have a Boss DD-3 Digital Delay and [s]Boss TU-2 Tuner[/s], both used but in very good condition and full working order. I am ideally looking for trades with... Delay with Tap Tempo (Prefer Boss DD-7/DD-20 or Line 6 DL4 but consider other) I would obviously be happy to put cash your way on a trade. Pedal is in top condition and boxed. Happy for a straight sale at £60. Will get pics up soon, but for now both can be seen on my board... PM me for a speedy reply! Shep
6. Look at the date of the last post! This sold ages ago... To me! And now lives with a good friend of mine
7. It does sound like the neck is too straight, should be a small adjustment though and shouldn't take much doing... Not a hard job unless something sinister has gone off that we don't know about. Just be careful, small turns are all you need. I'd give it a quarter turn. Tune up. Check it. Repeat if needed. If you have done this 3 or 4 times (truss had 3quarters - one full turn) and nothings changed, then take it to an expert. Shep
8. Very interesting read there Russ. Bernie kept his birthday quiet though!!!!
9. Bump for these boys
10. I'll have a word with Andy and Dave at the Drum centre on Saturday... No promises but I'll certainly have a word when I'm in next! UPDATE - Looks like it's a no go from the Drum centre... Back to the good old 'hire a room concept'.
11. Agreed. Pub would be good. The Magnet thing was just an idea... :-)
12. Bought some George L's. Quick postage. Top stuff. Cheers bud!
13. £5 tops seems fair. If there's enough people, maybe ask Rob @ Magnet studios and hire out a large room or two...? He does snacks etc, has a backline of Ampegs, Mesa and a few others and we get both sealed rooms and the foyer for loud/quiet spaces Just an idea
14. ... Like me! Again... Dammit. Wonder if we can postpone the wedding to free up some pennies :-)
15. Easily justified. Sell the TU2, you'll get an easy £40 on eBay, then your only paying an extra £35 or so for the Polytune. Bargain :-)
16. It works perfect with my 6 string fretless. The tracking is absolutly spot in. I am truely Impressed! I tend to use it chromatically anyway, but the polytune feature is sure to impress your friends
17. I'm well up for it!
18. Mine was a Status Shark II 5 string. Red with White scratch plate. Fell in love, bought it and owned it for 2 years. Was sold due to poverty. It was mine from 2000-2002. I'd love to know where it is now
19. That caught my eye as well! Very pretty... I'm planning on going all 6 now, finding the Roscoe neck the most comfortable I've played beside the GB. The 6 will hbe similar dimensions I think. My desire to own a huge collection has totally drifted recently. One fretted, one fretless is looking like it will be the way for me. Amp wise, I'm sold on the EBS.
20.
Very nice evolving collection you have there, Shep. When's the Spitfire 6 coming along? Rich.
Hey Rich, it will be a while yet I'm afriad. It's going to be something very special... As such it may take longer than expected. Also worth noting it will be the first ever Spitfire 6. Untill then I'm rather happy with the set up I have!.
21.
Update 2 - Collection of faulty combo happened today as promised. Yet another nod for Bass Direct's service. Looking forwards to recieving the replacement.
As promised the replacement has arrived. Works perfect! Almost no operating noise at all and no vibrations. What a fantastic little combo. Impressive top end due to the tweeter and handles a low B far better than I imagined it could. Having blown a couple of Peavey MicroBass combo's in the past I was reluctant, buy my god… the lap tones this amp allows is stunning. Real loud and compact and punchy. The tone is clearly EBS, but not quite as clean as the big ams so you guys a little unsure of the sound may appreciate it. Perfect little home practice/small gig amp. Very happy
22. Have 4 small additions coming over the next 4 weeks. 2 custom builds, one boutique and one mass Market. The board is going to kick bottom! Can't wait.
23. 1 of 212 is enough with the Fafner, that's generally what I use. It's 600w and the Fafner pushes much less than that into a 4ohm cab and it's bloody loud with loads of clarity. It's enough to keep up with a full metal band. Have a 2nd 212 is you really need the volume. I found the 212 to sou d clearer and more defined than the 410 anyway. But that's just me. I'd go try them all
24. Actually, I wanted a second 212. The honest reason I got a 115 was because I got it uber cheap from a friend who was selling off his second rig and I paid next to nothing for it. I actually played through just the 115 the other day though and was very impressed by it's top end response thanks to the tweeter and huge bottom. In honesty it's still a suitable stand alone can. None of this '15's are really bottomy' rubbish!. I'd part with the 115 for another 212 though, just for the sake of matching them up!
