1. I find the EBS cabs handle the bottom end very very well. My 212 handles more than enough bottom end without loosing definition. I find the EBS cabs handlethe top end better than ANY others in my experience. The tweeters on the NEO range are fantastic and they love that 'Bernie ping' at the top. The cabs are a little mid shy though, which I find conpliments the GB, but I end up EQ'ing in a little mid back in with my Roscoe.
2. I like Bernie pickups with the GB logo on them, like these... They're pretty cool. Not keen on these with the name printed across them though. Love the colour on this bass though. Real deep aqua like. Very nice
3. I think they work out cheaper in the states. But not by much. Massive price tags. But the Celinders and the like of this world show you can get that kind of quality without the stupid price tag (not that they are exactly cheap!). If take this over an Alembic any day.
4. Looks quite Overwater-like. Which is no bad thing. It is quite beautiful. Me likes
5. My baby... One thing I'm not struggling with is volume... 2ohm goodness :-) EBS Fafner, modded with blue LED's EBS Neoline 212 EBS Neoline 115 Auralex GRAMMA pad Ideally I'll change the 115 for another 212... But this 'will do' untill then :-)
6.
GAS
Me too... I want a Pedal Train Jnr now to run with my PT2... In a right angle... Going to try and build a wall of effects to keep the rest ofthe band out ;-)
7. They are very good live. This is the 2nd time I've seen them in 6 months an they have been great both times. They reproduce loads of sounds from the album well, including the electric xylophone! :-)
8. Perfect for the project I have on at the mo as well! Bummer. £500 and I'll take it now ;-)
9. It was f'ing awesome... Sorry! I'd gonas far to say I'd put it in my top 10 of all time :-)
10. Hi, consider selling at all? Question as well... When your not using an effect that requires an expression pedal, can the pedal be used as a general volume pedal? Shep
11. Mine too! Mini Basschat bash!!
12. Hi guys, Just got back from the Karnivool gig at Rock City. For those of you wondering how Jon runs his effect processing here it is! I had a word with the tour manager and he let me on stage before they packed his board away... There are two rows of pedals at the back, one on top of the other with the switch unit at the front. The bottom row I couldn't get to correctly but there is a Tech 21 XXL Bass edition there
13. Yeah, awesome. I saw this before any treatment was applied. The cut of woo was lovely... But that's something else!!!
14. I played a number of them at bassday last year, and I would put the basses in the top few made basses I'd try. His work is up there with Overwater, Roscoe & GB. I would say it's worth investing in one soon as in a few years his prices will rocket
15. I have a pair of covers from these chaps... http://www.pianocoversonline.co.uk/ Not the cheapest out there, but the service is good and the covers are bomb proof!!! They also have many cab and amp model dimensions preset on the website so if you r lucky that they have done one before you don't need to measure up. They make custom amp bags for lightweight amps as well. Used to have one for a MarkBass head, was a well spent £40 compared to the MarkBass branded one at £90
16.
Haha, yeh could really be interested in a squier as a swap (not really!!)
Squire!? I was thinking a Westfield :-) What sort of stuff do you have in mind 4 string wise? Any particular stuff take your fancy, any certain makes etc?
17. Saw this the first time around and loved it! Really different but Very Very cool. The luthier has a really good reputation as well... I'l nip over to my local guitar shop and pick up a cheap 4 string to trade you for if you don't have a preference on value :-)
18. Stunning instrument. Would look perfect next to my GB Spitfire 5 as well... and I'm only £1499 short :-)
19.
I'm dropping in to Bass Direct to try this bass out later today, already have a 4 string Overwater and was completely blown away
You will be mate, it is a beauty, and has the purest studio sound I've ever heard. I'm pretty confident any fellow basschatters that have already ha the pleasure of playing it will agree completely. It's just too heavy for my weak back when I have to stand and ply for 4 hours...
20. I agree... Black on that would look f'ing awesome
21. Being Mark was kind enough to offer me a lift to this I think I shall be coming along. I am not a W&T owner, but can vouch for Marks pair being Stunning. I'll pop down with my Roscoe & my GB, to meet some other Basschatters if nothing else! Shep
22. I don't know if it's an idea suitable to you but I used to string my 5 ADADG, dropping the B and E strings a full step. Makes changing an octave nice and easy...
23.
Pm earlier. .....
Classic! :-)
24. OK... The EBS combo is vibrating so much I can feel at the other side of the room... Me thinks it's certainly not right! Tis a bit of a let down, but fingers crossed I can sort a timely replacement and all will be well! Update - Exchange all sorted with yet more stunningly quick service from Mark @ Bass Direct. Replacement being delivered early next week. Update 2 - Collection of faulty combo happened today as promised. Yet another nod for Bass Direct's service. Looking forwards to recieving the replacement.
25. You know what. That union jack bass... REALLY does NOT do it for me. It's the missing link in the GB chain in my eyes. All personal taste of course...! Every other GB makes my heart flutter, withou doubt the most beautiful instruments on earth, but just not that one.
