1. Stunning instrument. Plays, looks an sounds like it should be worth well over 1k. How they produce them for this price is beyond me. I can vouch for this being a top bit of kit and one of the best to get you into playing 6ers. Shep
2.
thanks for the sentiments! personally, i think it's a tough time to sell, unless you are selling stuff at rock bottom prices. Also I think things typically sell on BC for less than market value, because sellers don't explore other avenues, and trust this marketplace and therefore are willing to take the hit to keep things in the family, as it were. Admittely I'm not. I've priced it at what I think is fair given what it is - a pretty unique instrument in near mint condition, and sounds fantastic too. My motivation for selling is/was out of guilt of owning more basses that I can really justify, although I'm starting to think I could justify keeping it now, we'll see in a week or so when I get back from the alps
I agree. Not the best time to sell. Bit holding out and not selling rock bott for the sale of selling is the right way to go! I love the instrument. We spoke about it before, then when you were in the position to sell I could t muster the funds. I see lots of basses that crop up on here, but this prob my all time fav, I loved it when you first popped it up and still peek at the thread all the time. If it was a couple of hundred quid cheaper I'd have access to the funds, but it would also be an uber bargain and of sold long ago... I will find a way to own this Shep
3. How is this still here!!?
4. I still peek at this every bloody day!! Wish I could find a way to pay for it... Can I temp you in a range of my other non-bass worldly belongings.... I may go as far as the shirt I'm wearing then a monthly payment plan to make up the difference?... I'll get boxing my Xbox 360 up now lol
5. Mmmmmmmmmm pretty
6. I'd love a 5 fretless... But money is tight... and I'm a Luthier whore :-) Unless I can persuade myself otherwise :-)
7.
Well I have to say that is one classy looking setup, you must be so pleased with it. Not far off what I am aiming for setup wise, already have EBS 2x12 but the size and weight of their heads is keeping me at bay. Hoping they will do a small compact head like Markbass/Eden/Euphonic. How do you find the Overwater with the wenge and maple combination? I had a Warwick which was maply body and wenge neck, I imagine it is quite puncy and growly? I love my Progress but find it quite polite sounding and have been thinking about getting another made with some different woods.
Yeah, the heads are heavy, but I did the sound is worth it. I was a MarkBass user before, and it was a tough call to go for a heavier head but I dint regret it at all. The Evolution sounds amazing, the best low B I have ever heard, and I'll stand by that. Has some serious low end punch. Fanastic for a rock sound. Only set back is that it weighs a ton! When you compare it to most other basses it's a serious back breaker... Due to the huge amount of Wenge involved...
8. Hey dude! The 212 is fantastic. I was dubious at first having never used 12's before but wow! I doubt I'd ever need a 410 again, it is responsive to as much top end as 10's, and to my ear has a smoother bottom. Plus is slightly smaller and lighter than 410! The Neo range tweeter is fantastic as well... Very impressed with the sound and the Neo range really are a million miles lighter than they look, and really well made. If you ever near Notts, come give it a blast! Shep
9. All being well... Right place at the right time and all that, I should be adding another EBS Neo cab... A 1x15 to the rig, getting 2ohm goodness out of the fafner. Will keep things updated and get a pic of all the gear if it all comes off... Just picked up an Auralex Gramma to pop it all on as well... Just need a 5 fretless now to male all right
10. My goodness I like the 6... And I really want a fretless... Beautiful instrument! Have a bump one!
11. Welcome to the forum!! My goodness I love that Basslab one... Me wants!!!!!
12. Is this not similar to what the huge over the top looking pickups on Enfield basses do?? http://www.enfieldguitars.com/html/pickup-new.htm http://www.enfieldguitars.com/Enfield%20in...ons%20page1.pdf
13. The Neo range are slighty mid shy compared to thier proline cousins, bu I actually prefer that. The do a very good sold clean bottom end, but also handle a well tweeked EQ if you want to recreate your Ampeg clunk. I've used ALOT of cabs... And was an ampeg and Markbass player for quite some time. But EBS have taken the lead by a lon way for me these days... And they are spook light for the power they handle!
14.
"Yes, make a downpayment, but if you don't find the instrument to be devastatingly good, I'll refund your money, because I am SO convinced that this instrument is SO good that the next player through the door will fall over themselves to buy it" How many luthiers would pass that test?
Bernie @GB said pretty much that. Even a month after I'd had it he still said if I changed my mind he'd take it back... So it's possible. Needless to say his confidence is supported by the fact that his basses are amazing and there is Zero chance I was ever giving it him back!
15. Ebs Neo 212. Awesome cab, uber light weight. Handles 600w. Tweeter if you need one... An there's one for sale on this forum if I'm not mistaken. I own one and it's bloody fantastic!
16. The above is true... But I find as a rule of thb the resale value of custom gear is pretty similar to that of comparatively priced high end gear. As long as youndont have your name as an inlay Just bear in mind you'll never get back what you pay for it. I'd say make sure you play a few instruments from the Luthier your looking to make the instrumen for you. They may make different models, but they will have 'that feel'. that's what I did, and I own two custom Luthier builds... And they are truely stunning. Shep
17. Mike bought my sfx Red Dragon. Quick smooth transaction, no issues in any way, shape or form. Pleasure to do business with! Shep
18. Awesome bass and a fantastic price!
19.
Agreed. And quite apart from the cost, would you honestly be seen in public playing it? It looks like some kind of... appliance.
"Zanussi release new range of musical instruments"
20. I agree it's far too much. Let's put the whole 'reasonably priced basses perform perfectly well' argument... I have 2 basses, both Luthier build, both with luxury options, one basically built to my exactibe spec from the cut of wood I chose to feel and perform just for me... It cost £3,000 LESS than the G3... If I can get the bass of my dreams two and a half time over for one G3... You do the maths!
21.
Anyone remember this bass of mine.......is it still around? Looks nice!
That is lovely!!!! Shame I only has 4 strings! Very pretty though. Havnt picked my Spitfire up this week, the Overwater was getting jealous... Think it's GB dy tomorrow
22. I recreated something VERY close back in college when I had to play this for my diploma... I had a DOD FX25b evelope filter and a DOD Phaser (can't remember what FX code it was), took a bit of time to get the filter sweep set to the tempo so it runs it's course between notes but it sounded spot on. The phaser was very little in terms of sweep, just to add flavour and phasing at the same speed as the filter. Was cheap well as back then I bought the pedals for £30 each brand new
23. Great quality bass for it's price. I can highly recommend it.
24. Jon bought my Schecter Studio 6 from me. He made the long train journey to collect and due to rubbish trains spent all of 3 minutes around the bass before forcing too much money into my hand nd doing a runner... Can't say better than that (Will paypal the extra back to ya bud!). Great communication throughout the whole deal and went out of his way to make the logistics of the deal work. Hope you like the bass dude! Shep
25. The description make me think Sikth, with Britney on vocals Scary thought... Welcome to the forum! Shep
