1. Bump. 'May' consider other overdrive/distortions
2.
I don't normally GAS for Warwick, but this is stunning... Plus it's a 5 version which is what I'd want. Out of interest does it come with a Warwick gig bag?
sorry fella... Missed your post! I don't have the warwick case for it, and I am not advertising the bass with a softcase, but as kong as your happy with a fairly basic one I'm sure I can throw one in on the asking price! Shep
3.
Hi pantherairsoft, how's you doing ? interesting stuff you have there. how does your GB sound through the markbass 450 ? really, really curious about this one having read the markbass thread around here. on paper, the options for tone from that particular combination could be spectacular. cheers !
Hi mate. The GB is not yet in my possession... The Overwater and Thumb are and both have great sounds. The Overwater sounds stunning through the Markbass... great top end response! As soon as the GB arrives (in the next week) I will post a review... but I can't imagine it to be anything less than amazing!
4. I imagine, very stingray like... just shinier :-)
5. You don't have the original pick up cover do you... I love the big Chrome brick... when my Thumb sells... I'm half tempted (for old times sake of course) lol
6. Dammit I want my Spitfire.... oh the wait! :-)
7. I used to own one of these (But red with a white scratch plate). Still to this day I don't think you can get a bass this good for the money anywhere. I sold mine for £325 (with the original pick-up) as it seems to be the going rate. I was mad! With a good set up these feel and play like a £1000 bass. The is a drop dead bargain... and one of the finest bass necks ever made!
8.
Shame you're not looking for trades - this is exactly what I want to trade my Thumb 4 string for!
Sorry dude. I'm strictly a 5 man. Been offered a killer trade already as well... But it really is the pennies I'm after Shep
9. All PM's replied to... Cheers for the interest. Still available!
10. SOLD. Hi guys... I have 2 complete 5 string sets of Hartke X-Light's. These are all packed together in a clear sealed plastic bag containing 5 strings. These were a set of 3 and I have used one set, but they are to light for me. Gauge is 40, 60, 75, 95 and 125 Very very bright jazzy tone, amazing for slap pick, but the 75 and 95 are just too light for me, so going back to my old brand. These retail at £40 for 3 sets, so I'm asking £10 per set, posted and paypalled to your door in the UK Shep
11. Hi guys.... As the title suggests, I have a ProCo Turbo Rat, 6 months old and still like new and boxed (no instructions though... it didn't come with any... bloody mail order!). This had a trip down to Max @ [sfx] and was modded with an increased bass level... ala Justin Chancellor (Tool). The result is that the distortion control does very little below 1, but after 3 gives a huge aggressive bass distortion with loads of sustain. Basically it sounds the nuts! At the same time, the jack socket was also replaced with a standard boss type plug so no special adapters are needed to power this on your daisy chain etc! It however does not suit the sound I am currently trying to achieve. i am keen to trade this for a Tech 21 XXL Bass Edition (the purple one) if someone has one and is looking for something slightly different, or will consider selling for enough money to pick such a pedal up. (*SOLD* posted seems fair given the cost of modding a pedal). Drop me a PM for a quicker reply! Cheers Shep
12. All PM's replied to. Cheers for all the interest... told ya it was beautiful...! Still here for the time being.
13.
Yum yum.
My thoughts exactly. Going to be tough letting go :-(
14. No longer a feeler. Spent last night playing this, and it is absolutely awesome... But I have to accept that bills need paying. Now for sale...
15. BASS NOW SOLD Hi people, No longer a feeler... The bass is stunning, as such I would love to keep it, but Christmas and bills mean if a reasonable sale can be made, I will let someone else enjoy it instead. This is a Warwick Thumb Bolt-On 5 string, 2006 model... The spec can be found here - http://www.warwickbass.com/modules/produkt...14447&cl=EN As the pictures below will show, this has to be, in my honest opinion, the finest cut of Ovangkol I have ever laid my eyes on. The oil finish is perfect and wood appears darker than most other Thumb's I have tried. The overall appearance is stunning! The bass is in pristine condition with the exception of a tiny ding near the jack socket which was too small to show on a photo, you won't see it but may feel it if you run a finger over it (it's hardly existent, but thought it was fair to mention!). It's at the lighter end of the scale for a thumb and feels and plays like its new. Set up with a brand new set of 40-125's in the last few days. For this stunning example I am now asking SOLD (price dropped 20/12/09) OR BEST OFFER (will consider the odd effects pedal in part ex to knock down the price) collected from Nottingham (City Centre), I have no transport to deliver, (but will make a short train journey if you pay the fare!) and am not keen to post, but will do so fully insured at your cost and arrangement. Anyone thats want to popover is happy to sit and have a good play on her to see that she is even better than the pictures show! Only trade would be EBS heads. Included the Warwick users kit (handbook, wax, cloth, truss rod adjuster, allen keys etc) and the warwick strap-locks as well. Warwick Rock Bag now included!!! The pics (hope they do it justice)... Cheers Shep
16. Awesome bass! and i missed it last time around! need to shift my 6x10.... Need pennies for so much stuff!!!
17.
Again, if someone would take my orange cabs! BTW how would this be with a LMII head? not sure about the 6ohm thing, just used to 4 and 8
would be fine mate, if a head can do 4 or 8 ohms then 6 is fine. Sounds closer to putting it in a 4 ohm cab though than an 8. 6 ohm is an odd breed but have had nothing but awesome sound out of each head i have tried through it. 1200w gives you plenty of headroom too!!
18. Yes mate. Cant wait for it to get here. My understanding is it was made as a show bass, with no plans to actually sell it. Bernie tells me Randy Hope-Taylor was interested at Bassday, but at the time the bass was going nowhere. Bernie is upgrading the electronics with the metronome and tuner and thenits mine! Seems it helps being a friend of a friend
19.
Quick update. New Spitfire 5 in the old fave daphne blue with the all new pickguard design... and an older 4 stringer with the original pickguard design. Enjoy!
That 5... the one with the new pick guard design that seems to of been lusted after by far too many... I'll pst some better pictures when it arrives with me!
20. Right people, this is going to gut me, but I need the money now .... bump down to £650! find a cab this awesome for that price.... Silly money. someone take this before I realise I'm mental...
21.
Monday morning bump Plenty of intrest, all PM's replied to, just waiting for the trigger to be pulled! Tony
Not all PM's replied too :-( I'll take my offer as a no!
