Feeler: FT MarkBass Traveller 102p

Cheers bud... thats the answer I wanted to hear ;-)

I have a question that I don't think has been covered!!! I am running a MarkBass SA450, which runs 300W into 8OHMS and 500W into 4OHMS Its well know that you want your speakers to be able handle more than your amp can give to allow a little headroom... but if you have two speakers.... do you add the Wattage together, or treat them as separate... I want to use some portable cabs for on the go gigging. I am planning on getting my hands on some MarkBass Traveler cabs in the near future two of these will run at 400W, 8OHMS each. Therefore my amp will be putting a 4 OHMS load into them (8ohm + 8ohm = 4ohm), meaning 500W... So Am I likely to cause damage to the speakers, or is the combined wattage of 800W enough to take the 500W @ 4 ohm... cheers

Do you loosen the strings when shipping your bass
pantherairsoft replied to xilddx's topic in General Discussion
Never. If Overwater can post it to me all set up and it be the best playing bass I have ever used straight out of the box then that's good enough for me! I've never had an issue and I agree that detuning and effectivley putting it in a state that it was never meant to be in can hardly be doing it any good. -
Agreed... For that kind of money you really can't go wrong. I saw an SA450 go for £370 last month on eBay... I almost bought it as a spare! If you have the money, now is the time to buy!
i'm gonna say, compression, subharmonic processor are the two main things going on there.
+1 on that... definitely the subharmonic... I think thats a staple part of his recording tone for Make Yourself & Morning View

I have an SA450 and love it, great tone, and the most amazing sounding solid state amp I have ever used in my life. Having tried most of the MarkBass options, its by far the best IMO and I would choose it over its more expensive alternatives as well. Cab wise I have a Markbass 6 x 10 (106HF), which sounds absolutely stunningly crystal clear and the SA450 drives it beautifully. Its stunningly loud, the amp volume rarely gets over 25% even in a loud band situation. The cab is costly however, and slightly large for my needs, so am interested in looking at the smaller cab options out there, maybe a 4 x 10 or a 2 x 10 and a 1 x 15. Id take the 106HF over any 8 x 10 alternatives on the market though, for the fact its about half the weight of them alone!

I have the same problem with the Bongo... I play an Overwater and whenever I play a Bongo I think 'its not as nice as my Overwater'... yet the though of a Bongo 6 is so exciting I come over all funny!
You could always go for FretFX: https://fretfx.com/ They're LED markers that don't require any permanent modification of the instrument. I believe a few people here have used them...
Never seen these before! Im interested though... anyone here with experience? Do they come off again without ripping the lacquer off? I assume they are stuck via adhesive... Anyone got a set they want to part with?

Active Bass EQ flat, set the tone on the amp (Slight boost on the bottom end and high mids), then play. I tweek the Bass EQ on the fly if it gets lost in the mix, but always have the flat settings to easily fall back to to get the tone as I intended.

Nottingham Drum & Guitar Centre
pantherairsoft replied to pantherairsoft's topic in General Discussion
Cheers to everyone that's been down to visit the last few Saturdays. The response has been awesome and to my count I have now met 13 Bass Chatters! :-) I also now seem to be getting a roaring trade in bass set ups with 4 happy customer s in the last week... :-) The last Washburn 5 string went this morning, played beautiful and were trying to sell through the old stock so some chap picked it up for £299... Bargain. I shall not be there next week as I have a job interview, having been told I am out of a job in 4 weeks (from my actual job not the Drum Centre)... ;-(. I shall be back the week after though! Cheers chaps -
I personally think it's great, and is my number 1 overdrive. The overdrive function matches you amp volume and has just enough dirt to offer a fat crunchy sound. The fuzz is not as good as some I have heard but does a reasonably aggressive rock fuzz... Very good for what it costs though. As already mentioned, if it's more a fuzz your after go for a muff. If you have any reason to be near Nottingham, your more than welcome to come try it out Shep
Why would you not just add an extra footswitch to the pedal? Just wondering.
The remote overrides the toggle switch, but when the remote is removed, control returns to the toggle and the pedal functions as normal. My understanding is that adding another switch to the existing pedal would of made the toggle switch redundant and also been tricky given the placement of the circuit board inside without transfering it all to a larger box. In fairness I really liked the idea I being able to unplug the remote and still have an original pedal still as well :-) -

I think it's fantastic mate. The overdrive setting matches itself to your amp volume automatically which is great and the fuzz is actually quite aggressive (but I use it as a fat overdrive). Honestly one of my fav overdrives. It really seems to compliment my amp sound. -

Pedal Board V4... and for now the last change around as I may be out of a job shortly :-( Before people ask here is a close up of the DiscumBOBulator and its little partner pedal. This is a custom build from Max @ [sfx] and is basically an external switch for the UP/DOWN filter sweep toggle that the pedal has... allowing me to switch between both styles during one song for example. The workmanship of this is stunning and it performs perfectly! My Turbo Rat has also been modded by [sfx] to put all the bass back in and it is an absolute monster of a pedal! -
