1. Pedal Board V4... and for now the last change around as I may be out of a job shortly :-(

Before people ask here is a close up of the DiscumBOBulator and its little partner pedal. This is a custom build from Max @ [sfx] and is basically an external switch for the UP/DOWN filter sweep toggle that the pedal has... allowing me to switch between both styles during one song for example.

The workmanship of this is stunning and it performs perfectly! My Turbo Rat has also been modded by [sfx] to put all the bass back in and it is an absolute monster of a pedal!

  2.
Hey,

I am buying a new effect pedal for my Warwick Corvette Rockbass soon for UNDER 100 pounds. I am not expecting it to be world class.

Anyway does anyone have some suggestions of good pedals that will do a general job?

    Thanks,

    Dom

P.S. I am keen on bassmerchant.com (it does NOT have to be from here though :))
Hi,

I assume what you are referring to is a multi-effects pedal. One pedal that can be used for a range of different sounds/effects?

If so I'd go and have a look in the fore sale section here as there are a number of Boss Multi-effect units that would usually cost you much more than £100 going or around your budget.

    PM'd you...
Damn hes quick off the draw, i wanted them both too! Where can i get these from, other than second hand off here?
Drop 'umph' a PM on these very forums. To my understanding he was the man that made these one for Finbar before they made there way to me...

  4. Hi people,

Here are a couple of pedals I have acquired in the last few days, but having also just received back a few modded pedals from [sfx] (Cheers Max!) I no longer require them... damn me for not thinking before I spend money!

First up we have a rather old, but highly recommended DOD FX42-B Bass EQ. Its a 7 band EQ with Volume level fader as well. Very little noise for an EQ pedal. This has also been modded to take a standard 9v centre negative (Boss style) power supply so it can be daisy chained with all your other pedals... this mod fills the battery compartment though so no batteries!
This pedal came to be well gigged and there are a few cosmetic defects, but the functioning of the pedal remains unchanged. There is a slight discolouration of the jack sockets, the bottom plate has at some point in time come loose and it looks like it has been glues back on, noting major, but bits of glue residue can be seen at the edge of the rubber butt plate. Lastly there are 2 locating screws missing from the faders. this holds the fader plate in position. It does not effect the pedal at all, but could cause damage to the pedal if you were to be stupid and stamp on the faders rather than the foot switch... buy two screws that fit though and be worried no more! The pedal looks lovely from the front though.

Due to the cosmetics I am asking only £12 including postage. A bargain price for a working EQ pedal. I have tried to show the missing screw etc in the pics... SOLD

Next up we have 2 mini True Bypass effects loops pedal. I bought these recently from Finbar, but due to the functionality of the new pedal mods I only need 1. I contemplated putting them away for the future but someone else may as well have use for them. These have only been used by me for abour 2 minutes, I plugged them in, ran a signal through them to ensure they worked and them put them on the side. Come armed with an ULTRA bright blue LED. These are about the size of the Catalinbread Hyperpak (tiny!)

Asking £17 each, including postage... SOLD PENDING PAYMENT

    Let know what you have

  5.
oops, forgot about this thread, nah i didn't try anything out, just had a look really, never tried the corvette before the setup anyway
out of interest, how much would you charge for a setup? I asked at the music inn and they told me they wanted £20 plus a new set of strings, apparently you can't set a bass up unless the strings are brand new. My arse.
6.
I usually bus it to the city but on Sat had to make a quick getaway to go up north so drove in and parked at the Fletchergate multi storey. I was there about 2 hrs 15 mins and was charged 4:50 !!
OK so don't park there... you've been warned!

  7. There are two multi-story carparks around hockley just up the road, one on Fletcher Gate, one on Stoney Street. They are a few minutes walk away, but tend to get busy after 11. There are others a little further away, like Vic Centre as well. Around the lace Market there are a number of roadside parking spaces but actually getting one is pot luck!

  8.
CLosest thing I can think of is that some volume pedals will let you set the heel down position at a minimum volume, so you'd just have to set your amp louder and use the amp's new top volume as your boost, if that makes sense?
That might work... Any idea which ones? ;-)

  9. Question... I have never used a volume pedal... I am told it goes from amp volume (in toe forward position), to complete mute (in heel down position). Is this true?

What I want is to be able to boost up above the volume the amp is set too, purly to adjust one pedals volume on the fly. So either from amp volume upwards, or... From mute, to amp volume in the middle, to boost at the toe forward position...

    Does such a pedal exist?

  10. Both withdrawn while I investigate another option...

Boss CEB-3 Bass Chorus, great condition but no box of manual I'm afraid. Great sounding chorus and supports the bottom end frequencies well. Prob the most cost effective chorus pedal around.

    also,

Boss BF-2B Bass Flanger. Great condition, kept clean and hardly gigged, you would never know it was old as it is. Personally I think it's the best sounding of the Boss Flanger pedals... Go figure they discontinued it! Good condition ones don't come up very often either. I even still have the box (but no manual)!

Or trade for a Line 6 MM4 plus cash your way, or a really versitile Flanger than can be slowed to chorus speeds. Quite like the look of the recent MXR ones. Not interested in other trades really.

  11. Anyone know if the line 6 range of larger pedals, particuarly the MM4 or DL4 are happy to be daisy chained? I know they run 9v but don't know if, like the larger EHX pedals, requires an isolated supply (or virtual battery).

    Cheers

  12.
I'm in town briefly this Sat morning, I'll try to pop in if I can. Not been in often so I never even noticed a G&L. If my next selling deal comes off I might have some spare cash to chuck about.
Awesome, I'm there from 11. If the G&L plays as nice as it looks after the weekend I'll fight you for it ;-)
