1.
I have a PT pro soft and am looking for a pt-2. Is it soft or hard case? In fact, i'd be quite happy with a straight swap...
Awesome... I've dropped you a PM waiting on loads of new bits and bobs... And some nodded pedals :-) looking forward to putting the board back together
2. Hi people, I have had a hunt but can't find a definative answer... I run my pedals off my Diago power station, but as I don't want to overload the power supply. I have just invested in some more pedals, but before I power it all up when they arrive is this safe... Boss TU2 Boss CEB3 Boss BF2B Boss DD3 Proco Turbo Rat EMMA Discumbobulator EHX Bass Micro Synth - With gigrig virtual battery EHX Bass Blogger - With gigrig virtual battery 4 loops/switches (Which I belive only uses the power for the LED). That's 12 pedals, running 1 daisy chain into the other. According to what the daisy chain says it will run, and my limited understanding, it seems it can run about 30 average Boss pedals... Am I wrong? I also intend to add a EQ pedal soon, making 13, meaning I will need to run the diago into 3 daisy chains to keep it to 1 power supply... Is this fine? Sorry if this has been covered a million times... Shep
3. Did you try the Corvette? Just to see the improvement. At the mo I'm doing 4 hours. 11-3 next week. Gottabe swift to catch me! ;-) lol when that G&L is working right it'll go like a flash
4. Some time ago my old band were lucky enough to land a good support slot with a now (but not so much back then) established band. We were booked for 5 dates. During the first gig we struggled to hit it off with them as there tour deal included the terms that they MUST have a private dressing room, as such they did not socialise (except the drummer... Who left after the 2nd album). On the 2nd night, our vocalist decided to voice his opinion to them, telling them that they were 'stuck up anti-social c**ts'. They keyboard player did not like the sound of this and threw a few choice words back, which our intoxicated vocalist decided to answer by swinging a fist and ended in a brawl with the 2 of them rolling on the floor instead of soundchecking. We were not so politely asked to leave before the doors opened, meaning 5 dates turned into 1, a soundcheck, and a game of fisticuffs. The name of said band has been left put in case anyone knows them and they recall the event differently ;-)
5. Just got home from the first shift. The last Corvette has had a full overhaul and set up. It now plays very well. It is in need of some new strings, but Andy assures me that any buyer can have a set of there choice if they take it. It sounds damn nice through the SWR rig. The whole of the bass stock had been moved around. For anyone that has been before you will recall that anything but a Squire/Fender Jazz of P was a nightmare to reach. Now the nice Aria's and the whole Ibanez range are within reach. Good times. Next Saturday the rather nice G&L Tribute L2000 will be getting stripped and set up. It's pots crackle no matter what you do and the strings are a mile off the fretboard... Looking forward to it playing right. In fact I may be the person to buy it because it's bloody gorgeous. Good times
6. I always find the Fafner (by EBS) sounds a little rude, maybe it's just my warped mind :-)
7. Il make sure EB's stay in stock :-) bag packed full of tools and bits and bobs. I have no idea what they have there to use so I'm even taking my own fast-fret and lem-oil. Looking forward to it :-)
8. Jazz mate, that MTD is beatiful... Want to lend it me for a while :-)
9. Smash the Pinata by Mammal... Love the main riff on the bass. Sounds f'ing awesome... can't stop playing it :-)
10.
I'm looking for a Pedal Train2 should you decide to sell, don't have anything to part-ex.
il let you know if i do via PM. I've only had it 2 months though and it's brand spanking new so not looking to make a loss on it... In all honestly I may keep it. Considering expanding it with a Pedal Train JNR and having them at right angles to each other, rather than having one long board.
11. I know mate. If I don't get the right offer it won't be going anywhere
12. Hi people, Mark Bass 106HF... A beast of a cab, but surprisingly light for it's size. The cab can handle 1200w and runs at 6ohms. It's a 6 x 10 with a 1" compression driven horn (adjustable vis a dial on the side of the cab). The SA450 drives it beautifully. This cab is now discontinued and has become a bit a rare one with a stupidly high retail value. Last month I bought a new pair of casters an wheels from MarkBass's UK distributors and since fitting them it has only left the house once. The cab is in great condition and sounds absolutely stunning. I am only getting rid due to size, and know I am going to miss the sound :-( Reluctantly this is now SOLD NO OFFERS , providing you are willing to collect, This is because I do not have a car and I don't fancy taking it on the train! Anyone that would like to try this out, I am in Nottingham and your more than welcome to come and put it through it's paces! Please bear in mind that people are asking more for 4x10's on here than I'm asking for this! PM me for a quicker reply...
13. I use a Pedal Train2 as seen in my recent pics... But unlike most, I'm looking to expand. Anyone have the larger Pedaltrain and looking to downsize? I feel a part-ex coming on :-)
14. Cheers for the feedback on strings guys. As for the email about the Shine, PM me your details and I'll bring it up on Saturday!
15. My goodness I forgot about this... To the man about I have just PM'd you... be it 3 weeks too late :-) After some fairly serious tryouts and jam's with a band recently I feel me and the drummer just didn't 'click', so I am still available. Really looking for anything dark, heavy or with a serious grove. A few influences if it helps... Tool Nine Inch Nails Sinch Rage Against the Machine Sound Garden Karnivool Sevendust 36 Crazy Fists Ghost of a Thousand Skunk Anansie Incubus etc etc etc etc etc etc etc
16.
fair enough, the active one should have a stacked pot. It's a nice bass though for sure
Then its an active. 2 single pots and a stacked nearest the bridge!
17. GAS!!! I like... damn being broke. Am considering selling my 106HF cab for something smaller... this may give me reason to shift it sooner as the left over pennies would be coming your way!
18. I do think your right about the fret markers. I had it in my head that they have a 12th mark usually... but looking around. they don't! I believe it is a passive one, although I will have to check again as I have not had a proper play or poke around with it yet.
19.
could you drop me a pm when that corvette becomes "priced to sell"? i may be interested.
Yeah will do. I had a good play around with it today. It needs the action and truss rod sorting, which I will do on Saturday and it could do with some new strings as well. The fretboard needs a good lem-oiling, again I'll do that on Saturday as well. Its up at £649, which seems to be about average 'in retail' for them at the mo, but it does have a the Turquoise Blue finish, and it also have a fretboard with no fret markings as well... neither of those options are available on a factory run Corvette now to my knowledge, and it does sound nice (fantastically light for a Corvette as well). I will have to see what they paid for it on Saturday and see what happens. I think, had it been set up right in the first place it would of sold at £649 long ago... quite possibly to me :-)
20. I have just spent 2 hours down at the Guitar and Drum centre, trying to go though stock and to try out a few amps with both my bass and there basses and in most cases I was pleasantly surprised. The SWR Working Pro range they stock is fantastic, its expensive but when you think its cheaper than my MarkBass by a mile and tonally very close, plus the lovely added extra of a foot switch with a mute and 2nd channel (Bass Intensifier), its very nice. I raised the issue of strings. They mainly deal in Ernie Ball Slinkys, but also have a few dribs and drabs of D'darrio (is that how you spell it?), Hartke and rotosounds. All the 5 string sets are EB's as are the Flat wounds (yes they do have some in stock, but only Med gauge and only 4 string sets). We had a good chat about strings and they are currently sourcing pricing to start stocking Elites as the primary string, and I have suggested they speak to Overwater about the chance of stocking some of there stings as well. As they have access to the entire Ibanez range with the exception of the Prestige items (these are from a different distributor) I have already suggested that stop sticking to the budget ranges and so we are looking at getting some BTB's in soon. They mainly stock the ATK and GSR's along side the Sound Gear range but are keen to do more with Ibanez now they no longer deal with Warwick due to a few distribution issues (so I'm told). That said, the Warwick Corvette and the Warwick Profet 3.2 and a few cabs that are left in stock will soon be 'priced to sell' should anyone be looking. Fingers crossed, come saturday I should have a little control over shifting out old stock that has been there for a while, in order to fund getting in more up to date stock. Watch this space.
21. Dale and the boys at Fuzz are cool, there product range is quite luxury as well, there pricing however is a bit off as they carry much of the same Fender stock as Guitar ANC Drum, but slap an extra £200 on them... Not sure why!? I know Fuzz are looking to sell a few decent bass ranges in the near future as well so hopefully they'll be one to watch... If your at college nearby I assume thates Stoney Street? I'm at the Ice House around the corner... Small world!
22. Sorry, your right. Music Room is correct. I got the staff right though! Maybe I get good service because I've known them for years! :-) To be honest I don't shop there a great deal, I have an apartment in the city and can see Guitar & Drum centre as well as Soundcheck out of the window... No prises for guessing where I go when I need something!
