Patch Cables - SOLD

Hi guys, I have changed my stuff over to George L's so have a few spares to shift to raise a few pennies. Kirlin US Pro Patch Cables - I have 4 of these, all 6" cables, with right angled jacks. Fantastic patch cables, retail at £7.99 each, perfect sound quality transfer (as good as the George L's). £4 each including postage, or all 4 for £14 6 pedal daisy chain with straight connectors. 2.1mm and centre Negative, just like boss pedals and around 90% of others take. £3 including postage Bundle of 6, 1 Metre Patch cables, bog standard basic quality nothing special but do the job. 1m is quite long for a patch cable but I found these did not degrade the sound anymore than a cheap 6" one and meant I could change the signal path of the board around without moving any pedals as 1m is more than enought for any pedal to reach any other! £8 including postage for all 6 Take the lot and its £20!!!!

Post your pedal board - Basschat style!!
pantherairsoft replied to dudewheresmybass's topic in Effects
Hi guys, have bought and sold a few things over the last 2 weeks, had a few static shocks and got a better understanding of electrics! :-) I have also updated my board and signal chain as follows..... Hope you all like... :-) TU-2 --> True Bypass Loop --> Bass Blogger --> Bass Flanger --> Bass Chorus --> DiscumBOBulator --> Bass Micro Synth XO --> DD-3 Delay --> Back to the True Bypass Loop. All powered by Diago Powerstation (both EHX pedals have GigRig Virtual batteries) and connected with George L's. The reason for the Bypass loop is that I times I like to use a combination of 3 or 4 pedals, this means I can switch straight back to clean with one foot switch and reset the effects before going back to the pedal board :-) -
Bought a rather fantastic EMMA DiscumBOBulator. Great communication, easy transaction. Very happy.

It is a Synth pedal. Creates sounds similar to the EHX Bass Micro Synth, including the octave, fuzz etc... Bonus with this is it has presets (9) I think, so you can use multiple sounds, and switch between them (including scrolling through while playing ready to select the next preset) using the foot switches. So I guess like having 9 Micro synths in a row... Plus they didn't manufacture it for all that long so it was quite collectable anyway... plus its the only good pedal they made :-)

Right, after getting a few electric shocks earlier I finally managed to have a play with the Bass Blogger. To be honest I am very impressed. In 'Fuzz Mode' I would say it is very similar to the Big Muff, but with a little less sustain. Considering you basically have one pot for tone and one for drive, there are a surprising amount of sounds you can get out of this! In Overdrive mode it comes into its own though. Very chunky and fat with a good crunch. Reminds me of the bass sound from 'CLUNK' off Limp Bizkits debut album all those years ago... which I liked very much! I also like the fact that in drive mode the volume pot becomes redundant as it matches your clean output signal perfectly, meaning no jump or loss in the ix. Very very impressed. best Overdrive I have owned to date...

Cheers for the detailed reply. Oddly, I can't recreate the issue now! It seems to of stopped!!!! Maybe the daisy chain was loose or something. If It happens at all again I shall contact diago immediately

I thought I would try changing the the daisy chain as I had an old one spare and that seemed to work. To prove it that it was the problem I swapped back to the one that came with the power station... and theres no problem now! I', wondering if the daisy chain had come loose very slightly or something. Have had a good play and doesn't seem to shock me now.... What I did notice though was.... If i plug the bass straight to the amp, no pedals at all involved, but the pedals are still sat there powered, if I touch any of the pedals, i seem to create a circuit from them to the amp and then I get a loud buzz, even though they are in no way connected to the amp... WOuld this imply there was a grounding issue somewhere still?
-
This is correct unless you have a gig rig virtual battery... but I didn't know the Blagger was an XO pedal!!!! Its its not called the Bass Blogger XO... is it? is that where I went wrong!? Also... micro synth and bass blogger require a 9.6v power supply. if I buy gig rig batteries for them... will the diago power station that runs at 9v still power them?

Hi guys... hope you can help... Firstly, tonight I was rearranging some pedals on my board and got a small electric shock off the strings on my bass!. I thought nothing of it. Then I got another, and another and so on. This happened when running 4 pedals off the 6 pedal daisy chain from my diago power station. After I got the shocks I started to notice that when i take my hand off the strings (break the circuit I was creating) there is a slight hum coming through the amp. After a little investigation, this gets louder when I touch the metal on any of the pedals of jack leads in the chain from the diago power supply. I wondered if one pedal had an issue and so unplugged all but one, going through each in turn, but no matter which pedal is connected this still happens. Connecting the bass direct to the amp it does not so I know the bass is not causing it. Do I assume that my diago powerstation has just decided to die on me? Is there an issue caused by not connecting all of the sockets on a daisy chain (surely not!?). Can anyone help? Secondly. I received a EHX Bass Blogger today. The manual says it will not work in a daisy chain. My Micro synth does not, but that also requires a specific power supply, unless I use a gig rig virtual battery. I was told by a chap in a local shop that sells EHX products that the smaller pedals just need the polarity reversing. I picked up a few reverse polarity converters for next to nothing, but that does not seem to work. If its in the daisy chain, it cuts the power to all the other pedals. If its in the daisy chain with the polarity changer, all other pedals work and the signal goes through its bypass, but when I turn the pedal on it cuts the signal and no LED. In anyone else's experience does the Bass blogger require a gig rig battery as well? AND... Could trying that pedal with the diago of been what has killed it!??? Help me!!!! Shep

I like it loads! Somewhat more portable than mine... starting to think the 6 x 10 was a bad idea when I see all the cool smaller ones kicking about! :-)

Hi Josh, welcome to the forums. The Big Muff is very fuzzy I find, great if you want a really dirty sound... but a good one at that. The Bass blogger has mixed reviews, but being a joint Fuzz/Overdrive it would seems somewhat more versatile! I actually just picked one up off eBay for £30 and it should come tomorrow so I'll post my feedback on it here then! Hope it helps Shep

Hi guys, I just spoke to Jason as he is sourcing a missing part to a cab I recently bought off him. I told him people were after prices etc. He is currently away with work and nowhere near the internet until friday. He is after £950 for the Amp and is located in Birmingham for those who want to collect. Anyone with any questions/offers/etc. should drop him a PM and he assures me he will get back to you Friday evening/Saturday morning once he is back home to civilization. Shep

Found this on an interview website... GC: Your bass sound is pretty radical with a lot of extreme low end coupled with a high percussive attack and rattle. How do you get that sound? Fieldy: I don't use any mid-range, it's all highs and lows. I take the mid-range and turn that s--t off. And when you slap, it's just real clicky sounding and when you use your fingers it's real low. I take the graphic EQ at 180Hz and I take that all the way down too. That's the style I play. I'm a drummer. I'm a drummer on bass.
