1. PM'd about George L's/Blowtorch
2. In all seriousness... good to see you on here mate.
3. Bump to add Ashdown Hyperdrive Will consider a deal on all 3 towards something special and sexy (doesn't have to be an overdrive)... Let me know what you have!
4.
Morning/Afternoon/Evening... I'm Jonn (Aka RevJonn)
Ohhhhhhhhhh... not you!!!!! Wish I'd never told you about this place! It's mine... go away :-)
5. Fantastic bass! I used to own a 5 string version and regret selling it very much. I would love one again... And yes the neck really is as thin and fast as stated, although until you play it, its hard to believe its that good!
6. I can vouch for Jason being a top guy to deal with! And an bloody awesome amp!
7. I'd say in terms of the amount of sounds available they are about the same. The deep impact has the HUGE bonus that once you find a good sound you can save it, along with a few (9 if I recall???) and use them during a gig by cycling through them with the foot switch. The EHX is one sound, then change all your settings for another sound, but I do find you can fine tune a specific sound a little better. Having said that, the EHX does cut though much better and it doesn't suck your tone like I used to find the Deep Impact did. If you have a Deep Impact though, I would be reluctant to swap it for anything that is not bloody fantastic as getting another one if you change your mind will be no easy task! P.S. EHX definitely has the better Octaver sound!
8. I used to own a Deep Impact, long time ago, and sold it for £50. Which was really silly! I bought last week an EHX Bass Micro Synth after seeing some cool stuff on YouTube. For the first few days I was concerned it was faulty. farty noises, huge decay on the notes... but I'm starting to understand they are just very complex and sensitive units. I am now getting some seriously awesome sounds out of it. If this is the starting point for what's to come from this unit... then it f'ing rocks!!!
9. Another one in here as well!
10.
I apologise most emphatically!! I try to stay out of the build threads. Beautiful bass though.
Cheers, I'll forgive you... this time :-)
that is one beautiful setup. I would seriously LOVE a markbass rig like that.
It is quite a beast thats for sure, and total overkill for my paying in my 1 bed apartment need... but I got an awesome deal on it, and while I may not need all the power now... It really is a rig that should last me a life time...
11. More pictures? Thats means you weren't following my build diary!!! I'll forgive you :-) Here you go - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=48355
12. Cheers for the feedback guys. Chris... Your welcome anytime... Anyone else is welcome round to try it upon successful character references ;-)
13. Hi guys, the effects run... Boss TU-2 -> Ashdown Lomenzo Hyperdrive -> Boss Bass Flanger -> Boss Bass Chorus -> EHX Bass Micro Synth -> Boss DD3 Delay The bass is actually Wenge (dark brown with a strong visible grain) rather than black, but the lighting has not shown it well :-) As for rig size... yeah its quite large... cab is the same hight as the bass almost exactly... irony is I don't have a car at all and I'm only 5'4"... yay!
14. I finally have my dream set up. its taken 6 months of being very poor and working up through a few amps, buying and selling to get what I have but here goes.... Overwater Evolution Custom (Many of you will of seen this a million times in the Overwater Forum here on Bass Chat) MarkBass 106HF (needs some new rubber feet and casters but other wise perfect) MarkBass SA450 Head Pedal Train 2 holding some sexy effects. All together I'm sure you will all agree it looks quite pretty! Shep
15. Right, finally got my first pedal board together, rather than just having some pedals on the floor so to speak... Here it is... Boss TU-2 Tuner -> Ashdown Lomenzo Bass Hyperdrive -> Boss Bass Flanger BF-2B -> Boss Bass Chorus -> EHX Bass Micro Synth XO -> Boss Digital Delay DD-3 All mounted on a Pedaltrain 2, powered by a Diago Power Station (Except for Micro Synth). Kirlin Patch Cables used throughout (with the exception of one, soon to be replaced!) Looking to add a second DD-3 or a DD-6 to the end after having a play with 2 together last week... amazing :-) Cheers guys.
16. Bought my FX25b. Smooth Transaction. All good!!!!
17. Bought Jason's Mark Bass SA450 and 106HF cab. Have dealt with Jason before as well and bought a Mark Bass 103 Combo. Both times he has delivered, stayed in communication and been a decent guy to deal with. I know he doesn't use the forums a great del, but you can buy with piece of mind! Shep
18. This sold to me as well! yay!
19. Sold to me Cheers Jason
20. Roger didn't seem to have one so thought I would start one for him! Swift transaction. Bought his Boss Bass Chorus. arrived quickly, as described and with great comms throughout. Would happily deal with him again anytime! Shep
21. Cheers bud. Its a great sounding bit of kit... But moving the foot and fingers at the same time in harmony is just not for me. I prefer to just turn the filter or synth on and let it do its thing. I know I sacrifice precision that way... but hay ho!
22. Ha. It is indeed good for the flea sounds... Cheers for the trade offers, unfortunately only looking for the two pedals listed above... if you can get your hands on a DD3 for what you have going then I'll take that off your hands! :-)

24. Bought a Morley Power Wah. Excellent communication and the item arrived in super quick time, as describes and well packaged. Couldn't ask for more, top man! Shep
25. Hi guys, Having taken a break from it for a while I am now eager to get back out there. I'm 27, have been playing since I was 17, although thee was an 18 month break in the middle. I have done a number of rubbish recordings, but one full album in a pro studio setting back in 2002. I have gigged all over the country and performed in front of audiences from 2 to 2000. I have predominantly played Rock and Metal, with rhythmic feels, but my music tastes are vast and right now I would happily give anything a listen, so surprise me! I'm honest, open and currently using pretty high end gear (Overwater & MarkBass). Being the open person I am though, I do have flows and I with to be honest about them from the outset.... 1. I drive, but do not have my own car. I live in Nottingham city centre, in an apartment without a parking space, so transport is an issue. If you want a bassist that you don't have to pick up for gigs... then I'm not your man! 2. My understanding of music theory is swings and roundabouts.... If you tell me we're in 13/16th's or 7/4 with opposite phrasings then I'm fine and in my element. If you tell me your in the Key of F sharp and playing a diminished chord I will look at you gone out, unplug and go home :-) I play by feel and by working with others until it is nailed. I can be available most evenings/weekends and so am fairly flexible as well as working on Flexi-time at work so getting days off etc is not too hard compared to most, making getting to sound-checks that bit easier. Any one in the Nottingham area needing a bassist, drop me a PM, Shep
