Interested in the PN-2. How do you rate the bypass on this? My pedalboard's getting sizable, so its an increasing concern!
The PN-2 is special. It's the only term I'd use on a live set up from a commercially available maker. It's only going because I have a customer made trem on the horizon (spec'd to chop like the PN-2, plus other functions). It is a Boss pedal at the end of the day, so has Boss buffers, though I feel the older unit (PN-2/OC-2 era) were actually a little kinder to the bass than the current ones. Long story short - the bypass is fine and I have no problems. I use both this and the OC-2 in the same signal chain along with other units with no issues. I wouldn't use 6 or 7 Boss pedals in a row without a bypass strip, but one or two is fine IMO. If you have a hunt around the net I doubt you'll find a bad word about the PN-2. I'd love to know why Boss did away with it! -
Why does this octamizer come up for sale when I just bought va new car? ***drops to knees*** Why god why ? I'm off to sulk
I can assure you that it was not deliberate I did notice that they don't come up too often actually. A good nod to Aguilar as it is a great pedal. -

Loops Mixer now sold and paid. The natural voice of the Octave down on the Aggie is more natural than the Oc2, it's not a synthy sounding octave, closer to the EBS or the MXR. The low pass filter though means that you can take more and more top out of the sub octave and emphasise the lows so if you roll it back all the way it's very sub (like a more refined DOD MeatBox). Very versatile. On another note - as someone has asked already, given the value of the Cluster Flux, if it helps to pay for this over the course of 2 or 3 months then I'm happy to do that. -

Hey folks, I'm having a big clearout to fund other projects so have some stuff up for grabs... The ONLY trades I will consider for anything here is an Eventide ModFactor and/or an Ernie Ball VP JR Expression Pedal (the 25k expression, NOT the 250k volume version), I will also consider some compact size active studio monitors, bot nothing crazy expensive. No other trades please. Moog Moogerfooger MF-108M Cluster Flux. [s]Asking £395 posted in the UK[/s] SOLD Aguilar Octamizer. [s]Asking £90 posted in the UK.[/s] SOLD Boss PN-2 Tremolo/Pan. [s]Asking £90 posted in the UK.[/s] SOLD Custom sfx Loops Mixer. [s]Asking £100 posted in the UK.[/s] SOLD Source Audio Hot Hand 3. [s]Asking £90 posted in the UK.[/s] SOLD Diago Tourman Pedalboard. The big one in the Diago range. This is gigged, with some light scuffs (nothing major) and the foam inside the lid has some indents in it etc from pressing against pedals. All intact and as it should be though. This is large and I do not want the hassle of shipping it so it is strictly collection only from the NG4 area in Nottingham. Due to me asking for collection only however I'll do it cheap... Asking £50 collected. HUGE Flightcase Pedalboard. This oneis a feeler at the moment to gauge any interest. This board was built for my old electronica project, Our Helical Mind and was used for a European tour last year. it's used with some scuffs but it built like a tank so still in good condition. It is massive with a 2-tier design and the board length is circa 1.4m (HUGE) and weighs a ton. I have custom built riser inside it which can be removed (along with the raised tier) to raise the lower level upto the lip around the edge. I'll confirm dimensions later, but basically is MUCH bigger than any commercially available board, if you need something truly massive get in touch. It would be collection only, but as such I'll do it for £100 collected. Here is a pic of it set up with the Our Helical Mind gear... Shep
Resurrecting this thread, seriously considering getting one of these to replace my WH1. I mainly use the -/+ 1 octave, 1 octave up and 5th/6th harmony settings on the whammy. I understand the PF will do this, along with a potential second harmony! This correct? I have heard that the PF has a bit of latency however, and that it doesn't track amazingly well on fast runs...Can anyone corroborate? Al
Correct, do that stuff plus the 2nd Harmony on the PitchFlex setting. It has the same latency I found with the Whammy, tiny milisecond stuff that become non-noticeable after a day of use. It's so minor I honestly don't see why people have an issue with it. The tracing is not true polyphonic, so it tracks as well as any monophonic octaver does, though it will handle perfect 4th and 5th's during pitch shifting - you need to have a clean technique and not catch the open strings though. If you want true polyphonic stuff then the EHX Micro Pog/Pog/Hog is the beast for you. Personally I have NEVER had any tracking issues with the Eventide.

Post your pedal board - Basschat style!!

A few days left for this give away I've been running with Pedal Labels via my website. Thought some Basschatters may like to get in on the action... http://sheponbass.co.uk/blog/pedal-labels-giveaway -
When you connect the expression pedal do you ensure that it is in the heel position as you connect? It needs this for calibration purposes. I doubt it's the cause, but worth covering all bases. Have you tried it with a Mono lead (I know it says TRS in the manual, but so do many pedals that work fine with a TS lead).

Thanks for coming both of you! Sorry our set was short (we, like the venue) had a few technical issues! We thought better to end while it all worked still The Safari hunter stuff would be considered a compliment. That is exactly why they dress like that an have the crazy handlebar moustache! Thanks again for coming dude!

Yes, yes you can!
-
Agreed. Get the MicroPower rather than the power station (it's cheaper and you don't need the headroom), or get a 1-Spot from Bass Direct. I imagine they'd be around the same price.
-
It's a bog standard 9v centre neg, as with every Boss pedal and most other pedals too. The 1spot is a daisy chain supply, same as the Diago micro power/power station and a million other supplies. Just use it without the daisy chain connected.

I've got 3 shows with KADE in the next week so decided to sort the board out today. This is the last time you'll see my setup before it migrates to one of my Really Awesome Pedalboard Company boards. I'm basically using the PitchFactor for everything these days having spent a lot of time with it. It does my pitch shifting, crazy delay, reverb, ambience, octaves, synths, some fuzz, chorus and modulation, plus a bucket load of other sounds now that I've started feeding it LFO's form the MP-201. I'll be adding an aux switch soon so I can move around it easier in the near future.
How about sanding it smooth under the handle and touching it back with black?
That would work. Though my knuckles would still be catching something (ie a flat surface) and I'm a sensitive little thing

I've been running a Barefaced Big Twin T for some time now, Alex will better tell you my purchase date, but circa 18 months as my only cab for live and studio use. It's one of the heaviest (maybe THE heaviest) in the Barefaced range, yet my handles have not frayed/rubber torn like many have. It's clearly just a fact that rubber wears. In time I'm sure mine will go, but they are an easy and cheap replacement so I don't see a problem. My only observation is due the weight in my cab, when carrying the handles flex to thier limits, which in turns means I can catch my knuckles on the abrasive coating of the cab. I mentioned to Alex shortly after I received the cab that I was considering changing to the fold out metal ones which were shown on the last page and he pointed out the door frame width issue them. I got the measuring tape out and rest assured, it wouldn't go through a door whilst being carried so I persevered with the stock ones. After all this time they are going strong and are generally the least of my worries. That said, if there is a replacement on the horizon then I'm keen to see it!

Fun afternoon. Nice to see those who turned up (always good to hang out Ste!). That Wal was lovely!

MIM should be with me within the hour then we'll head over from Nottingham. See you all later!
-
My partner in crime/music was considering one. He currently uses a Native Instruments Maschine which is VERY good so it'll take some beating. This does look excellent though. Let us know your thoughts when it arrives!
Cool read... I don't have sound here at work. What does the fader pedal actually do?
It... er... creates fades Ha. one knob sets the length of the fade in from quick to a long 20 second type thing, the second does the same for a fade out. Tap the pedal once and the fade in begins. Tap it again and the fade out starts. Awesome for recreating fades over continuous riffs just like on an album etc.
