1.
Some pictures of my SKB 5006
Very nice! Has a very Yammy-TRB vibe going on... maybe the inlays that are doing that...
 2. Just a heads up that we are playing a show in Nottingham next Friday (11th May) at The Jam Cafe, Hockley. It'll be a bit of a different show for us, being that we are used to playing shows with big bass bins to drive my sub etc... The Jam Cafe is just that - A little cafe, better known for singer song writers and similar. We are playing with a couple of very cool HipHop/Funk acts (Great Scott & The Afterdark Movement) so hopefully it'll go down well. We'll call it an 'intimate' show with Our Helical Mind :-) Facebook event page Shep

 5. As the title suggest... I have some straight George L's plugs an require some more right angles. I know the right angles are the more commonly used, but there are places in which the straights are far more suitable. Anyone need any? I may sell a few also... If you have any right angle ones to sell I may also consider buying Shep
 6.
Now I'm wishing I would have nabbed that Freqbox when I had the chance. A couple of years ago a local shop was selling a brand new one, in the box for £165! You may slap me now!
SLAP!
 7.
The bass sounds pretty massive through my WOWee One powered bass speaker thing. Sample 2 sounds mint, sureingly WMD in action?
Thats all Moog FreqBox my friend
 8.
I love the feel on the first sample. First two are around the same song idea? It's great how far your music has come, definitely much more polished and developed than when you first started.
They are all around the same piece of music actually. It's a 3-part movement in ambient D&B - The whole piece was about 20 minutes. 3 moods to the same 'idea' to represent 3 sections of a film etc... The final finished pieces may be being used for some soundtracks... otherwise they will be polished & used on the next EP/Single. Thanks for the compliments guys... These were done in a different manner to who we usually record. basically done as if it was a gig, facing each other performing single takes. I'm very happy with the results so far. It was also an experiment to see how 'full' I can make the sound without any sound-on-sound looping or it becoming a total uncontrollable mess.
 9.
AHhhhhh that looks so good. I REAAALLLLY want a Rat Tail but I just can't afford importing one brand new.
International shipping is $38. I wasn't charged anything for duty/tax etc. which surprised me as Parcel Force delivered it and they usually stamp a stupid handling fee on even if they fee without is £1.
 10. Thought I'd share a few snippets from a recent recording session we did for some soundtrack-based stuff. The full versions of these song may never get released, but I wanted to share a few bits. More of a breakbeat/ambient vibe. These are not final mixes so please excuse any imbalances or lacking frequencies etc... These were all recorded in totally live takes with just the two of us (me and a drummer) so everything you hear that is not a drum is me playing, modulating & tweaking stuff live... 11.
You able to do a rough demo? I like the sound of that!
Will see what I can do at the weekend/next week when I get to the studio! Its a clone of a GGG-tuned/civil war muff Pi with extra high gain, mid tone control, 3 different clipping options and the gate. YUM!
 12. My answer to all the super high gain/wall of noise tones I ever wanted... FUZZROCIOUS Grey Stache with multiple clipping options & always-on gate to remove all feedback... Hand painted by Ryan's 3 year old kid... 13. Ian bought my 442 Envelope Filter. Easy transaction. Great stuff Shep
 14.
just listened to the samples, you're overloading the input stage of the pedal it's nothing to do with the bass. It's the transistor losing bias from overloading and creaping back in when it regains it. Does it do it if you turn the gain down? As to why its strongest on those frets my guess is thats a particular frequency thats coming through very strong on the bass and accented by the pedal.
That's an interesting thought! I'll try that with my stuff too.... I think my situation may be slightly different, though it stands out more with fuzz tones (Freqbox most, then Mastotron), I'm pretty sure I can hear it on clean as well like a very subtle phasing. I assume the high harmonics of the fuzz etc make it more audible. Going to try changing a few settings now though... That said, this is a passive bass and I never heard it with my 18v active. 1976fenderhead - if this makes a difference for you then let me know!
 15. I'm certain my experience with this is the bass. I don't recall ever hearing anything like it with the Roscoe so assume its the passive MM pickup/circuit in this bass. I don't have another bass to try it with but sure I'd of noticed it! It seems the pre on mine has been changed from the standard Vol/Vol/Tone set up to be Vol/Blend/Tone (though if I'm honest it sounds like Vole and 2 identical tone controls!) so wonder if it has something to do move the two rows of pole pieces out of phase...
 16. Did you ever solve this? Ironically I had never experienced anything like it before, but I am currently borrowing a passive OLP Singray copy and have EXACTLY the same issue (though only really noticeable above the 9th fret). I can't find a cause for it and tried about everything.
 17.
S***less
Duplicate posts removed.
 18. Bump for an AWESOME bass and a top guy to deal with. Dan's a real gent. Buy this bass with confidence!
 19.
To be honest I had no idea how big a Showman is (other than being larger than a Gigman and smaller than a Tourman) having only owned a Tourman. Second hand though, a PT-2 with a hardcase seems around the same price as a new Showman.
Yeah, I'd take the showman as it's larger and lighter (than the PT hardcase) BUT, no doubt about it that the PT is the better made and more robust!
 20.
Might fit on a Diago Showman? Definitely a PT-2, perhaps even a PT-1.
This implies the Showman is smaller than the PT2... but it's actually bigger... So if it'll fit on a PT2 then it will definitely fit on the Showman!
 21.
Still awaiting my perspex to make an Al Bling base. Hoping it arrives today. I have though, made some mods & added some Boss/Moog style knobs. Having turned my Ibby into a passive bass with volume, tone & pick up blend knobs, I had a spare hole & thought I'd put it to use. I've put a 100k pot where the EQ switch was & wired it to a stereo jack socket (which is where the audio jack was on the bass) & put a mono socket on the backplate for the audio. Now I can control a moog parameter from the bass. Playing about with LFO rate & Envelope slope on the Bass Murf, & Envelope amount on the LPF. Pics to follow when I get the bling.
Very cool idea dude - very cool!
 22.
Bump for the EBS choruses, if I didn't already have one I'd have Shep's hand off. Hmm, I wonder what would happen with TWO chorus pedals....
I had and used 2 for quite a while. Both set to chorus with slightly different speed and depth from each other makes a massive phase shifted bass storm! I used to do it on a few tracks! My Moog can do the same effect with its 'time' delay circuit though. I love dual chorus sounds!
 23.
If you thought the 442 had some serious bottom, wait until you try the Fatman! It WOMPS!
Exactly the plan
