1.
Not great news but maybe it's an opportunity to nick/buy the machine off of the company that did it before?
Possibly... Knowing the perfectionism of the team though they would then want 12 months to ensure every single cut is to the same level as the ones they have been producing since time began! lol. We'll see what happens in the near future...
 2. Nah - pretty sure everything there is standard so a Micropower and regular daisy chain should rock it!
 3.
Yeah all your pedals you've listed are centre negative so I'd just go with the Micropower and a short daisy chain personally. No particular reason to need isolated supplies with those.
I was just going to make that observation - I can't see anything there thats battery only!? Or centre positive...? No to whore myself out too much but theres plenty of info/suggestions etc here Shep on Bass - Pedal Power
 4.
Well with only three pedals you could go for the Diago Micropower, with an adaptor, rather than its bigger brother. Just taken delivery of one myself - perfect.
^ This. Super reliable and adapters available for what you need.
 5. That last point is a good one... Though I do use 5 foogers and this is the only one suffering... Though it is an original big briar one and the others are slightly newer. I'll give your suggestion a go! Touching the switch gives a 'slightly' louder hum (in volume) than touching the metal chassis and in either case, also touching anything else metal removes the noise. I'll try your suggestion tomorrow if I get chance.
 6. Yes! Stageclix rocks. Easy to use (I have the pack version but the jack is just as good). Battery is great. It's tiny. Can be powered on 9v daisy chains with your effects pedals (if you have a board) and I honestly can not tell the different between that and a high quality cable... Even when I'm in a different room!
 7. I noticed today that my Moogerfooger Ring Mod is emitting a sub-level (SUPER low frequncy) hum when you touch it, which can be 'grounded'/muted by touching another pedal or one of the jacks else where on the board. I only noticed this with my Streamliner 900 amp up at max looking for the cause of a crackle and at playing volumes this is not audible... But now I know it's there is going to bug me. When I'm not touching the pedal it does no such thing. I've never noticed this before... But it's likely always been there - honest truth is that I don't often max out my 900w amp to listen to hiss and hum. I assume this is a grounding style issue and wondered if anyone can advise in where to look within the pedal? Shep
 8. I'll report back soon as it arrived and I've caused structural damage to surrounding buildings with it
 9. SOLD As the title says, Totally unused. Only opened for me to check everything was in there and that it worked. Not 'mine', but is one of a few random items that cropped up in the office over the last few weeks so is being sold to add to the tea & biscuit fund... [s]£40 including postage to any where in the UK[/s]. Payment via paypal (as we have an office paypal account for buying munchies and stationary ). SOLD Shep
 10. There's news... But not great news. I was hoping to of seen some lovely bass nearing completion, but the company that Roscoe use for custom cutting and slotting (outside of the tolerances/set ups of their machines), which I think is anything under 33" (and likely anything over 36") scale, have gone bust As they are the guys that have done all the work on rarer scale lengths for Keith and the guys, they now need to find another source/establish a new relationship with someone else who's work they can rely upon. As such, until the right person is found... This is going nowhere I do appreciate (and am thankful for the fact) that they have not just sent the bass to anyone that says they can do a good job. They want it to be up to their usual standard.
 11.
Awesome interview. I've seen Chris around on basschat but hadn't looked into his music until now! That True Tiger video was incredible.
That's great to hear - If I can open a few people's eyes to some cool musicians, doing cool things with pedals and effects, or some pedal builders making cool new toys then the whole thing is a success as far as I'm concerned
 12.
You massive tease!
I try
 13. Thanks bud. The core of questions will remain the same between interviews in order to see how different people approach the same/similar things in different ways, then a few questions will be pointed specifically at parts of that persons set up. I've currently got another 7 (4 bassists and 3 guitarists) on board ranging from people you may not of heard of to people that EVERYONE has heard of. Excited to get these out to everyone.
 14. Hey folks, Over the coming months I'll be publishing a number of interviews on my website & blog. These interviews are all with people that have either highly discussed (in the world of internet forums) or very interesting effects/pedal board set ups and cover musicians from not so well known to world famous. I currently have some VERY exciting musicians on board for the first five or six and hope to publish on interview, along with pics of the gear and listening references every fortnight. It is not exclusive to bassists (though 'most' of the folk involved at the moment are bass players) and I do have a couple of guitarist's (who's set ups interest me) already on board. I am hoping to also be able to bring you a few interviews with boutique pedal builders as part of this series as well (waiting/hoping to hear back from the first of the pedal builders now). Anyway... I thought I'd start a thread (as the interviews are all effects-based) and post the links here each time I publish one so they can all be kept in one place. I am hoping this will be a great resource on how people use gear in different ways etc. If you have suggestions about anyone you'd like to see interviews (though 'some' of the 'big boys' are far less attainable) then drop me a message and I'll see what I can do (if you are a pedal builder with products that are commercially available then get in touch also!!)... So without further ado, here is interview number 1 - Bassist of Submotion Orchestra and BassChat member, Chris Hargreaves: Cheers for reading! Shep PLEASE BE AWARE - MY WEBSITE IS NOW CLOSED. THE INTERVIEWS CAN NOW BE FOUND HERE -> http://simonpoulton.....com/sheponbass
 15.
My favorite one so far. Karizma is really ripping it up on this one..
Thanks dude - a little more of a funky breakbeat vibe than D&B in that one, though I love the super high ear splitting synth middle-8 bit Karizma is a beast.. Everything freestyled. He won't rehearse with anyone! Lol,
 16.
I was about to say that, it's going to be one big awkward bugger if you do make one!
Mal Chapman built my monster board/flight case. He does lots of large boards for odd setups for musicians around the world. Not 'cheap' but very reasonable for what you get and the bespoke nature of it. His company is called G.R. cases though there web presence is tiny and the site has not been updated since the 70's lol. I have some contact details though if you wanted to investigate having such a thing made.
 17.
A couple of minor changes to the pedalboard for tonights gig. Polytune Mini makes a debut and the Boss OBD-3 gets retired in favour of new BB Bass Preamp/overdrive. Next on the list is smaller format small clone chorus home build as theres no space for the larger enclosure size. This will then replace the Digitech Chorus unit.
Nice. The Carling can I assume is the BB re-housed? Tidy little board dude!

 22.
I'm actually working on something at the moment along these lines - which goes into much more detail as well - without going too advanced which should cover most aspects of powering (voltage, current draw, isolations, upscaling power, polarity and a list of good supplies up for the job) which I hope to have finihsed by the end of the weekend and publish on my blog. I'll post a link here when it's done and if everyone finds it covers all the needed questions I'll sticky it at the top of the forum... then as and when any questions come up that were not answered we can add to it...
Here it is... Shep on Bass - Signal Chain BASSics, Part VI: Pedal Power If everyone thinks it covers all the frequently asked questions then I'll make a Basschat friendly copy and sticky it. Anyone that thinks its overlooked anything etc then let me know....!
