1. That's the monophonic tracking flicking between notes trying to figure out which one you are playing. You get the same from many octave pedals. The OC2 does it particuarly well. I have tried to utilise it myself as a kind of glitch in tremolo, unfortunately it's jar to make musical as it does glitch the same way everything.
2. Ta da! I have owned the Whammy 4, Whammy DT and Pitchfactor. I have also had a good play with the rather rare Bass Whammy. For me the Bass Whammy was not very inspiring, that said I tried it before I really had a practical use for a Whammy, so I wouldn't mind giving it a try again. If you are going to run the Whammy in a recommended fashion (early in the signal chain/before direct pedals) then the Whammy 4 does the job great. It does suck a little tone, but nothing that you can't put back in on even the most basic amp head. The DT is a step forward, it is true bypass do no tone suck (not that it's a big deal IMO). It's Polyphonic where as the 4 is Monophonic, so the DT can be used on chords and multistring playing. The Whammy 4 will not track more than a single note (like an analog octave pedal). The DT obviously has the drop tune functions as well, and while they are very good with bass, I doubt many bass players will get musical use out if it. It's whammy section does have a few extra options that the Whammy 4 doesn't (including some settings from discontinued models too). The pay off here is that the DT is massive and costs far more, so you can weigh up the pros and cons from above. The Whammy 4 is still a great pedal. I now use a Pitchfactor. The main reason for my move, is that in order to sound very synthesised (and not like a bass), I run my whammy AFTER dirt. The Pitchfactor does this perfect where as ALL whammy models cut loads of top end. Engaging the pedal sounds like turning the tweeter on my cab off. Running Whammy's before dirt (before all the high end harmonics fuzz and distortion adds), means this fact doesn't get noticed. I will be honest though and say the Pitchfactor sounds more 'digital' in its 'pitchflex' (whammy) mode compared to a slightly smoother sound from the Digitech range. The Pitchfactor really though is a huge system for harmony and the whammy setting is really a minor part of it. Great as it is, if you are only after a Whammy, buy a Whammy.
3. Must be the season! Last night was immense! great line up, best sound we've ever had at the Venue, it was packed to the rafters as well, had to fight our way to the stage. We got mobbed afterwards and ended up playing until after 1am. The live Dubstep/Electronica is really stating to pull crowds. Feedback was the best we've had. We left very broken, but very happy. I did get a pint thrown over my pedalboard though so here's hoping its all OK today!
4. Still around but not building as much as far as I'm aware. http://www.cliftonbasses.co.uk/contact.html His phone number is there - I'd call as he may not be 'tech savvy' with email, as many bass builders don't seem to be!
5. As per forum rules, anything being sold needs to be priced. Please separate and price or have he post removed and stick to your wanted thread.
6. If you're listing this in the sold forums, please separate the items (basses in the bass forum, amp in the amps forum etc) and a price is required for each item. Cheers
7.
I'm guessing that this has probably gone to a new home by now hey
Knowing Dan he'll still be in bed for half the day so I'd fire him a PM and get in!
8. Just downloaded it. Agree, not as easy to use as the Polytune - but just as accurate. Great for free.
9. No, just said he'd get on to the rep and ask for them as soon as they are ready. I'll let ya' know if I hear anything.
10. You already Own a Roscoe Century 6 don't you!? In which case you have one of the finest instruments on earth. Job done!
11. New track from Nerve - Damn its good! https://www.facebook.com/NerveOfficial?v=app_178091127385
12.
Just in that I would feel a bit nervous having the power plug sticking out of the board in case I stepped on it during a gig or something, also since I use a pedaltrain mini with a soft case, wouldn't feel very healthy to have the cable sticking out inside the bag. Linking to what BigBeatNut said, if you have say a Diago board, the jack is not problem because you remove it before closing the board, but the power plug stays in so if you want to leave it plugged you have to move the pedal inside. I'm not saying it's a dealbreaker, just that it would be much better if it was on the top end.
I get ya! I never set a board up with anything over the edge of the board, including the input jack... hence not quite 'getting' the argument. As such, it certainly does not effect me. Have emailed Mark @ Bass Direct and asked him to put my name on the 1st one that arrives
13.
B****x. Didn't think of that. The space saving over other pedals might easily be gone if you attempt to keep the power plug in-board, and the pedal is first.
Am I missing something? You're going to have a jack sticking in that side just below it, which will be longer than the power input anyway (assuming you use a right angle daisy chain/power input), so I don't see how that is an issue at all... ? Or am I missing something...?
14. I like it. I'll squeeze on any pedal board I ever put together. Moment it's available my Polytune will be up for sale and I'll be getting one of these!
15. Some impressive sound textures in there... It's as big as my pedalboard though!
16. Could do with being mastered, but sounds good dude. It's a pretty fun track. It's a sad state of affairs when you recognise a man by his pedalboard...
17. I see your board pop up a fair bit!
18. Did a pedal trade with Simeon. Hassle free, great comms. Perfect stuff. Thanks dude! Shep
19. Yeah - He's a Roscoe Endorsee. LG 6 & SKB 7 strings. Amazing player.
20. Would be cool if you can make it dude
21. I assume it works in the same manner as the Pitchfactor (which info have), which has a blend as one perimeter of each patch/effect rrc. No low end loss as all from the Pitchfactor and a truly stunning bit of kit.
22. Si, I've read your last post about 20 times, and whilst I may be having a blonde moment, I have to say, I'm lost! Oh, and I'm married - so don't mention my GF in public lol
23.
well, you're going to need someone sooner or later...
Lol - I love your optimism. You got the job!
24.
Fantastic! I think I'm gonna be using a lot of it in the future so that would be awesome, thanks Shep!
AudioSpares.co.uk Discount Code: ASE10CE. Vlid until End of March. 10% off. Multiple use. Stock up on Neutrik jack-jack cable
